What was changed with incarna?

On Tq now (and on sisi last i looked) I'm getting unexpected probing results.

This is what I mean: Given my skills, ship and equipment, I know that in a system under a certain AU across, a 10/10 DED plex sized or equivalent signature will show up on 1 256au deep space scan probe as 0.06%.

Post-patch this same sig is now 0.03% with 1 probe at the same settings, in the same ship, same equipment, same skills.

So; either you have stealth nerfed probes, skills, cov ops or cov ops related mods; made cosmic sigs harder to find (smaller sigs); broke skills applying to the mods/ship......

OR (and i find this faaaar more likely)

In tweaking the game to allow it to take into account more than 4 probes when scanning you have somehow accidentally buggered the probing formula. If this is the case I should imagine it may also impact your attempt to render previously un-probeable ships as probeable, since while you've made efforts to make them easier to probe down....if this screw-up is affecting probing of all sigs and not just 'cosmic sigs' then you may have made them harder to probe at the same time.

As an addendum: a corp mate just attempted to probe down an 'unprobeable' t3 ship with maxes probing skills, a sisters launcher etc (virtue set unknown) and found that it was impossible to get the result above 72%. [probably related]

So which is it and what's your plan to fix it?

The formulas have changed.
Where you could scan with 4 probes before has changed to something more like 6 probes.
If you have 7 or 8 probes, it becomes easier than before.

Position your probes in a more three-dimensional arrangement.
Keep them the minimum size you can, and don't place probes right on top of each other.

Awesome.

Got astrometrics 5, cov ops 5 etc etc; still forced to use more probes to get same result.

Screen more cluttered, more clicking and dragging, can still achieve exactly what I achieved before (possibly excluding t3 unscannable probing - although even that still seems nigh on impossible without everyting at 5, sisters kit, implants etc).

Don't need to train new skills, don't need to learn a new technique...just use more fiddly probes;

Thanks.
