I've been doing this game since November 1992. When it was released I took off work early just so I could get the client installed and get in asap. It was a very fun experience and even though things have changed considerably since release it hasn't been a downhill trend. It's been mostly up. Until now.
At times I've had as many as six accounts running. Right now I have three. One will run out in a couple days. Not renewing. The other two will run out in about a month. Not renewing. I may never come back.
The reason I'm so sad about this game is because it has now taken a definate turn for the worst. I don't mine the Captains Quarters. Minor annoyance. What is really eating at me is the Micro Transactions, the Aura and what these two things are going to do the game and the game's economy. Both are going down the tubes because someone is greedy. Greed has destroyed many things and now EVE is one of them.
There are only three things I've done longer than play EVE. Lived (62 years), loved (Married 32 years) and held any single job (15 years). So for me this is a very sad decision.
I don't see anyone at CCP reconsidering what has been done. To do so would be an admission of a HUGE error in judgement. Whoever's ego came up with this couldn't handle that big of a truth. It would crush them. So this poor decision will remain. I will not.
In a month it's going to be goodbye to EVE forever. I know no one cares but me.
No, you can't have my stuff.
