Greed is NOOOOOT good!
What greed got you now is losing all the credibility that you have built, screwed and rebuild over the years.
A large number of players have already cancelled, and many won't renew, most are hoping, just hoping that you'd get your senses back.
In order to redeem yourself, not only will you have to scrap your pay to win idea, but you'll have to offer a big token to make it up to your customers. for example, all the BS Nex goods should be put on the normal market, not micro transactions.
Don't let it get into your head that you're a big company and you decide how you make your game, the real power holders are the customers paying for your product. lose then and you go bankrupt.
i love this guy +_+

Exactly. What he said there was Sony haven't bought them (which is true, obviously) and that they're not discussing a complete buyout, which nobody ever said they were. Neither of those are statements which dispell anything we thought beforehand. They're statements crafted carefully to give the impression that nothing's going on. |

Edited by: Cain Anung on 26/06/2011 18:46:31 Sweet Jebus The drama and inuendo of this is reaching epic proportions. So pardon my swahili: ITS A SODDING GAME! Let´s not blow things out of proportion.
Ofcourse there will be some serious thinking going on, at CCP. But I wont beleive they have the intention to ruin the game. Thats just illogical, and will benefit no one. Least of all CCP. That said, they made a giant "turd in the sandbox". Now they should concentrate on scooping it up. Lets at least give them the time to do that. On the Sony-topic: Maybe it would be a good thing, to have Sony´s Proffesionals, take over the management of CCP, on the administrative level. Then the CCP´s can concentrate on making the game better, instead of finding more funds, for their enormous ambitions. And to the more aggressive and personal responders. Seriously: Calm down, fellas. If you shout at your waiter, youll get a little present in your meal. Its counter-productive, to keep making conspiracies, accusations and threats, of a dubious nature. Kind Regards |

Edited by: Cain Anung on 26/06/2011 18:54:14 How do you know? It was an internal letter, for christ sake. Trust in the good dev´s at CCP to have intervened, if that prospect would have come to fruition. Internal letters always carry a more direct approach, in the lingo. Pretty common practice, in companies. If they really went through with it, then Id be just as ****ed, and would definately unsub. But imo, this whole thing keeps getting fueled by guess-work, assumptions and poor management, from CCP. That, I think, is the consensus. Im just saying: Give them a chance, and give them REAL feedback, they can actually act upon. But Id like to make it clear: I also think this CCP screwed up, in a major way. Hope to hell they can make some changes to their administration and the loyalty-issue. |

It is quite obvious you could not say "We will never sell non-vanity items".
My subs have been in cancellation status for 3 days and there is no chance that will ever change now.
I can unequivocally state that I will never put another dime into your company again.
I can also unequivocally state that I will never advise nor reccomend to anyone that they do so either.
My ranting and protest are done, you win. |

.. in case you still haven't seen the most recent statement here is a copy/paste of it: (p.s.... don't look for any real answers) The tone and demeanor of my blog on Friday did not correctly portray my emotions towards the community and player base at large. I love and respect EVE and its community on a level that's hard to really do justice in words. However I let my frustration take charge of me, fueled by emotions that had built up due to a breach of trust we at CCP have been experiencing over the past few days. I know that sounds ironic considering those are the exact same feelings you have been having towards CCP. For that I am sorry. Having cooled off a bit and taken a solemn look at the situation, I see it's clear we need to strengthen the deep mutual trust and respect that's been so unique and descriptive of our relationship. There are certain questions you want answered and there isn't room for more error in our communication on those topics or our perception of the root causes. Therefore we have asked the CSM to join us in Iceland for an extraordinary meeting June 30th and July 1st to discuss the events of past week, to help us define and address the real underlying concerns, and to assist us in defining and iterating on our virtual goods strategy. The result of this meeting should be mutual agreement of how virtual goods and services will evolve in EVE. Other issues may be brought up and we urge you to contact the CSM with your comments and concerns so that they may be addressed at this session. However, just to prove the point of the Fearless newsletter and give you a further understanding of what it is then there are no and never have been plans to sell "gold ammo" for Aurum. In Fearless people are arguing a point, which doesn't even have to be their view, they are debating an issue. This is another example of how information out of context is no information at all. Due to the volatility of the topic we want to refrain from any further comments on this matter until after meeting with the CSM. Thank you for your patience, Arnar Hrafn Gylfason Senior Producer of EVE Online |

CCP Zulu…. The tone and demeanour of my blog on Friday ….... fuelled by emotions that had built up due to a breach of trust we at CCP have been experiencing over the past few days …..
(you had 2 spelling mistakes..ffs)
Umm hold on, this experiencing of breach of trust, do you mean you are emotionally broken because your board of directors went in a direction that you find distressing because it breaks the “ players are the game sandbox” or, the players actions that are manifesting on forums, across the cluster and in outside game news sources due to your arrogance towards the players?
IF the latter, what trust did we breach, trust in CCP?, you must be in DENIAL, what trust, its you who have broken your promises and betrayed the player base, the only trust u have in us is that we like your product, aka sandbox, and will pay a sum to build in it, you turn it into a litter tray, we won´t any more we´ll protest and leave, the only trust we had you betrayed.
I like many joined eve not because it was easy but, and this is a very important but, because it was hard, complex, unforgiving and a very long term commitment, I had a look and knew on day one that this sandbox of yours was going to occupy me what whats probably left of my life, it was who dies first, eve or me.
Eve is/was full of bright, intelligent people, it still is, the player base care more about CCP than most of your directors and major shareholders, and whats more its individual and collective intelligence far outstrips any resource CCP could ever acquire or contract on the marketplace.
We understand that CCP should have other products, we made CCP successful enough to takeover/merge with WW, we understood that WiS was the making of the ambulation and box engine for and WoD, we were more than happy to keep shoveling you cash because it was good for eve and CCP. What we did not expect as you promised it would not happen is MT in eve, yes develop the method for WoD, but introducing it into eve is CCP breaking trust with the eve community.
IF you had waited with the NeX until Dust was in Beta it would have been an excellent way to pay for planetary ops, but you went and made a derivatives engine that evaporates a company liability, aka PLEX.
You don´t understand, your games company has turned into a short term cash grab machine, those investors who we were told were games players gave what we now know was only an illusion of trust that they thought like we did, however it turns out that their games have us as their pixels and they don´t give a **** about us, you, or your grandmothers, all they crave is money and power, they don´t respect you they never have.
P.S. I have just used a PLEX to reactivate my account so I could post this, I did you a favor, I decreased your liability, you have 29 days to explain where the company is going, the players are your product more so than the game, you guys seem to have forgotten that.
P.P.S, i log in and find a bot in system that i´m going to have to pop days after i reported it, just send a GM to test them, them pop them back into a clone vat, or u jelli |

Alright, I'm tired of people using WE, I'm really starting to hate that word, none of you speak for the entirety of the game community, none of you, so stop acting like you do, I for one am still perfectly happy with playing EVE and will continue to do so, overreacting to leaked INTERNAL newsletters and e-mails is idiotic as they are just that. Zulu even said that it was meant to be exaggerated and brought out so a logical player reaction could be expected, and as the e-mail states, the reaction to this is nothing short of exactly that, expected. But I digress, you idiotic protesters, stop talking and acting like you represent the entirety of the community, because you don't. |

We... oops... I apologize for using the word 'we'. 'We', in this case, represents the majority view and is by no means meant to infer that all pod pilots feel the same way. 'We' are happy you brought this to 'our' attention and 'we' will try to refrain from hurting your delicate sensibilities by using the word 'we' to represent the majority player view on this topic. 'We' now return you to your crib with the other uneducated babies and hope that this is an acceptable compromise for the fact that 'we' shall continue to refer to the majority player view as 'we'. Thank you for your understanding. |

yeah, but that trust was forfeit when they decided to LIE to the customer base (its fraud) so it was waiting to happen... the Hilmar email is legit which reinforces the opinions for discussion in greed is good are actual company policy that they are implementing. Players are too smart to not understand that, no bull**** can cover it up, so many players have far more business experience and see thru the cover up that it was a discussion document, fools we are not. Whoever leaked the stuff did CCP a favour, it burst the bubble and probably will save the company. IF he did really care his upset would be with the board, eve runs at a profit a very healthy profit, they just put that and his and 700 peoples job at risk by misrepresenting the companies direction and revenue model for eve. |

If you blow up my ship because you spent more RL money than me, and have an advantage that's not available to me with my RL budget. Then I'm not interested in devoting any more time to this game.
