Edited by: Ruziel on 24/06/2011 21:08:55That's the best you can do? Originally by: CCP Zulu I hope I‘ve addressed your concerns and cleared up a lot of the issues you‘re having. We‘ll continue monitoring the forums and other communications channels and pick up and reply if there are concerns not covered by this blog.
Are you daft? You've addressed nothing. |

You do know that you completely failed to address any player concerns and basically told everyone that their issues were illegitimate and that they should stfu and suck it, right?
How on earth did that come to seem like a good idea? |

"Therefore we dedicated an entire issue to exactly that topic. It‘s worth mentioning that the topic of the issue was "Greed is good?" as a way to ask a question that would then be debated back and forth and often exaggerated purposefully to draw contrasts and make points. The result of that is now widely available on the internet."
Except it didn't. Apart from John Turbefield <3 there was no debate at all. Bull**** devblog is bull****. |

Ok, I'll take a stab at this being a former Propaganda Specialist... I mean Navy journalist trained to mislead the public.
Before I do, I have to say if I were on the PR team, the suicide photo above would look pretty appealing... But I digress:
Incarnas CQ sub par performance on many of your customers computers. Over the years, CCP has released numerous free upgrades to EVE and not all of them worked as intended on their first day of release. However, you've also seen some of the DEV posts about how meticulous we are in improving performance of both the client and the servers. This is the first time CCP has delved into the world of animating the human form. The sheer polygon count that graphics cards need to process with CQ dwarfs anything we've ever attempted before. This is only the first step toward a living, in-station environment that was promised to you years ago. While this is the first step, you can rest assured that our DEV team is working just as diligently on CQ to improve it's performance as they have with all other aspects of EVE and that soon, we hope to be running.
Reports of hardware damage allegedly caused by CQ. We're currently working with nVidia to thoroughly investigate all claims of hardware damage with the release of Incarna. For now, please make certain that your video and motherboard drivers are properly updated and that you are maintaining a watchful eye on your systems performance.
MT prices. In the past there has been a lot of talk about how members of the EVE community purchase expensive ships and fittings and then never undock them for PVP. We believe one of the reasons for this is that the EVE community has never had an avatar to associate themselves with. They've always perceived themselves as their ship. One of the big goals with Incarna was to deepen your attachment to an avatar. In doing so, we're hoping you'll be less likely to be concerned about the consequences of losing a piece of virtual hardware. In order to promote this move toward an avatar rather than a ship, we deemed it essential that you be allowed to personalize your character. Players are given a wide selection of clothing and accessories to choose from during character creation. Additional personalization through the purchase of Aurum-based items should be something very unique, very personal and therefore very expensive. To put this in simple terms, most anyone can afford a Badger Mk I. Not everyone can afford a Bhaalgorn. Would you really want it any different?
And last but not least, leaked internal CCPs document. CCP is a progressive company. We encourage internal debate. If you read the 'leaked document' carefully you'll see that it was just that, an internal publication designed to spark a debate about microtransactions among our employees. While we regret that is has caused such negative emotional reactions we do not regret it's intent. Rest assured that our community is our top priority. You are our lifeblood and our paycheck. We are currently digesting all forum posts and feedback regarding the subject of MT and we will soon be laying out a "Roadmap" that details our future plans for EVE. Of course, we will always welcome your feedback.
How's that for proper bull****?
You can Tomahawk my village anyday!
I've been expecting them to post some lines like those, but now it's just going to be so much more fun to read.
This guy said the same thing about the leak. :-) |

Edited by: Grady Eltoren on 24/06/2011 22:46:45 WOW - I gotta agree - What a "bad" dev blog sir.
No answers addressing concerns...Just static.
I thought NEX and Aurum was for customer REQUESTED customatization. IE - we could order stuff up like custom ship skins, etc. THAT I COULD SEE PAYING 12000 AUR for.
At this point I see think there are DEEPER PROBLEMs with EVE's "FIRST IN GAME 'REAL' ECONOMY" that CCP is not letting on to.
I almost think they WANT us to unsubscribe (people with lots of ISK/ASSETS/TOONS with time invested) so it will be the BIGGEST ISK SINK IN HISTORY.
This and other blog's show a lack of caring for how players want to fix things. Because lets admit it - things are not always "fixed" to begin with in EVE.
CCP - Take a note from the Nobel Laureate Dr. Nash - Dr. Eyjgoy could quote him I am sure...
Nash's Game theory is completely relative to your products CCP - "When you do what is best for yourself (GREED) AND (key word AND) the group (PLAYERS) you GET the optimum MATHEMATICAL OUTCOME.
Just a thought! |
