Comparing jeans in real life to internet spaceships items was lol enough

Telling us all that you spend £1000 on jeans in real life probably says alot more....

That picture sums it up perfectly. Since Apocrypha something happened with CCP, or rather NOTHING happened. You havent released anything worth of a forum thread never mind an expansion since then.

As a community we already page vastly over the odds per person on alts, plex etc.. yet still you try and squeeze more from us?

I feel you have no addressed anything in this dev blog. You have basically confirmed everything we're upset about and said you're still going through with it despite mass protests happening among many forums, in Jita, Amarr, Rens, Dodixie, and many other systems. We provide your salaries, we pay for this game. We did not ask for a system to allow financially well off individuals to obtain an advantage in the game.

We play this game because it's a getaway from our own lives. I know many people who play this game. Rich and poor. In real life, they are in completely different classes and would probably otherwise never interact. However, Eve brings people together because of a common interest. It's a place where your own financial status in real life doesn't matter and you can be whatever you want to be in the game. You have the same opportunities as every other player.

I have personally dedicated 7 years of my life to this game. I have worked for everything I have. Spent time mining in asteroid belts and ratting to gain my ISK. PVPed in major fleet battles and made great friends along the way. What you are doing is ethically wrong. I guarantee you will lose many subscriptions if you continue down this path.

You say we shouldn't be angry, that the newsletter was just ideas being thrown around to instigate debate and conversation. Then you go on to say that you're still intending on doing exactly what the newsletter says. So...wtf.. we should be angry. At CCP and those who suggested these changes in the newsletter. As the producer, it is your responsibility to appeal to the customer. Not to maximize your profits. I can understand adding certain things to the game to allow some players to customize some aspects of the game. However, no one should be allowed to gain an advantage in the game based on how much they pay. That is what the in game market is for. If you work hard in the game and make ISK, yes you can gain an advantage over other players because you have more ISK. However, if you're gaining an advantage simply because you're more well off in the real world. That's wrong and it will destroy this game by upsetting many many players.

I believe the PLEX conversion into ISK should have never been introduced. That started this whole thing.

My basic point is: If you give players the ability to gain an advantage over other players simply based on their financial status out of game you will lose more than you will gain.

Sadly, I think it's abundantly clear by now what the answer is. They are aware we're asking this, the only reason they have not to answer is that they don't have an answer which won't make this ****storm larger. ****.

My only thought after reading that blog was "Oh go **** yourselves".

I wonder, have you read the threads about the players concerns? 'Cause you didnt adress them in that blog. Mostly a bunch about real life clothing and justifications taken out the ass. Shape up CCP. You're in deep water here. SOE told their players to go **** themselves when SOE released their Combat Upgrade for Star Wars Galaxies. Don't do the same. This is an update your players are not happy with...

Why would you want to wear a pair of $1,000 jeans when you can get perfectly similar jeans for under $50? What do other people think about you when they see you wearing them? For some you will look like the sad culmination of vainness while others will admire you and think you are the coolest thing since sliced bread.

And these are the game design thoughts going through the head of a DEV at CCP even after loud warning shots have been fired across the bow
. I hung in there for a day, but if the first offical response to their mistake is to vaguely talk about their hurt feelings and defensively talking about the game design philosophies that go into virtual clothing, then I'm afraid this game is over with.

R.I.P. EVE A 4 year adventure in sandboxing that I will remember fondly.

Hey all. To clarify this blog, its intent was to address two topics and two topics only;

1. What Fearless is and the nature of its content
2. The pricing strategy behind the NeX store

I do realize there are other concerns you have and those will be addressed, but doing it all at the same time would make the messaging tricky and muddled and not allow for a focused discussion. I understand a lot of the frustration going around but if we want to discuss then we need to do so in a constructive and focused manner.

Thanks,
Arnar

Holy smugness in that blog post.

That took CCP 24 hours to create?

First, not buying anything to do with exaggeration. Exaggeration connotes ideas that are over the top, almost ridiculous. Nothing anyone wrote in that internal newsletter smacked of exaggeration. Nice deflection, CCP, but I'm not buying it at all. Those were genuine opinions within the corp on where to take macro/microtransactions.

The thing is, you have a lead game designer espousing the move towards play to win transactions, and then you have a powerless associate researcher espousing no microtransactions (other than vanity wear.) Hmm. What opinion wins out at the end of the day?

As for the price points of goods in the NEX store. Again, calling BS on the $1000 jeans argument. If that was the case, you would have immediately introduced two price points to demonstrate that ideal. You introduced these price points assuming we'd accept them, we didn't. You came up instead with this ridiculous (ooh, exaggerated) line of reasoning.

But again, what is CCP stance on microtransactions? Will you be moving into areas other than vanity items? Simple question. Requires a simple response.

Wow, that's some arrogance.

You know, CCP, I am exactly the kind of customer you were hoping to attract with Incarna. I was planning on cracking a PLEX or two and buying some virtual items. I was looking forward to Incarna all along.

Now? I'll never use the NEX store, no matter how cheap you make it. You've turned off exactly the kind of customer you were hoping to create by this whole embarrassing fiasco.

So, Zulu, all you care about is addressing the pricing discussion.

The major issues, however, you both dodge and divert, and won't answer to either.

Fearless
You only explain what Fearless is, but you do not address the questions raised - why are you even debating this since you have told CSM and players numerous times, that things like this will never be considered? You lied then, or changed your mind? It's quite vital, as your reputation as a company, and your word both as employees but also indivuals, is at stake. So, will you ever consider non-vanity items for AUR?

Incarna functionality
You are proudly presenting how smooth this release has been. At the same time you have had blue posts admitting there is severe hardware issues related to it, and even have a sticky thread on the forums. Sure, it might work, but it's performing sub-par - and in a multi-client game like this it's quite a disaster. You completely ignore that.

Edit; not to mention you completely ignored the people that request for an option to turn off CQ permamently. The door-compromise we have is a joke, has been made joke of, and the only thing we really know about the future is your intention is to turn off this temporary door. But you have no intention to bring back the hangars. Even tho CQ is known to be horrendous for multi-clienting, medium to old hardware, and something that affects :spaceship: performance (sic!) immensely. Having 90 sec dock timers instead of 30 is quite significant, if you ever tried to :spaceship:-PvP in this game?

Very, very, very disappointed with your blog. This is what we get as reply?

The unity
Remember that the whole playerbase, more or less, actually players from all differnet camps. High-, low-, null. Enemies and friends alike. Vets and young players. And, even more disturbing, CSM. We're all critising your actions, and want to know where you aim for the future. And you have completely ignored that, or don't care. So you're done with EVE, and the future is only Dust and WoD? We who have supported you for near a decade, some of us with ten, maybe twenty, maybe more accounts, we're not worth junk?

Well then sir, you reap what you sow.. The isk I put on your company was worth it. With emphasis on was.
