You still haven't repeated your commitment to never bringing non-vanity MT's, but it doesn't matter.

A long-term MMO like Eve is built on trust.

Why should I keep investing time, effort and money into this game to someday achieve great things if the game MIGHT NOT be worth playing in 6 months?

CCP has shown many times that its promises are meaningless.

The only thing now that you can do is DELIVER. Your words have no value and won't stop the exodus. The time to promise to never bring non-vanity MTs is gone, you can't even reiterate promise, but it doesn't matter because we don't trust you anymore, anyway.

Only your ACTIONS could change something.

Remove the Noble Exchange, give players back the PLEX's they have spent on Aurum and make all the Noble Store content free for everyone.
Then, add a "Disembark Ship" button to make CQ OPTIONAL. If Incarna is good, players will use it, don't make us vomit it to your face by trying to force it down our throat.

That should be enough to stop the bleeding until the next time you **** because we all know you are too stubborn to do what the CSM tells you and to learn from your mistakes.

It takes years to build trust and just a few seconds to destroy it.

That devblog isn't addressing the elephant in the room.

Seriously, these people were doing their jobs and do not deserve the hate and ****storm being pointed at them.

Soundwave is the lead game designer and his view is to turn EVE into an MT joke, how do you expect us to feel?

So your answer to the hate on pricing is "Deal with it"?!

I'm currently posting this message using my hour for plex privelages. Its incredible how many friends I've made around the world thanks to this game, people who I now regularly skype with.

When I went to fanfest 2009 it was a fantastic experience, Apocrypha was a great expansion and it was awesome to see the developers on such a high note. One of the defining moments of my EVE experience was having a photo taken shaking hands with Torfifrans, it was great fun chatting and drinking with the developers who all seemed really on the level and approachable.

I've decided to unsubscribe from the game because I want to preserve memories like these. I may not agree with the direction the game is headed, but I wish CCP the best of luck with their future projects. I think we often forget that there are real people behind the blue bars. Thank you for the four years of fun.

Stay the course!

Consumerism is one of the lowest forms of self expression and represents cultural bankruptcy. By going down that route you will never ever be mistaken for an ethical company again.

But please just answer this:

Are you moving beyond VANITY AUR items?

Im not as mean as some people out here so I will say this. I love you CCP and EVE, but seriously keep MT vanity. Thats all I want and most people want. Buying standings and skillpoints is outright horse****. Try to fix and come out with more flying in space content, then things should calm down. EVE players are just a bunch of hungry trolls Rolling Eyes

What? Mad

That's it?

This pretty much confirms it in my mind. The number 1 question being asked remains completely unanswered.

Will you be allowing Microtransactions for in game items such as ships, weapons, etc???

Clearly, Zulu's lack of a straight answer on this means CCP is leaving the door wide open for that option. These game-breaking MT's are coming and I will be leaving. I have already cancelled my subs. One dies in 4 days. The other in two weeks. The third in a month. Those cancellations remain in effect until they guarantee no MT's for real in game items!!!

Since this is likely not to happen, it is time for me to find a new game and a new game company that actually values its customer base instead of talking about us as cattle to be manipulated for their money in their company rag!! Too bad. CCP had the promise of being a gamer's company in an industry full of corporate bean counters.

Sad day indeed for the gaming community.

Dex was here. Mad

I'm not sure you did. While it's nice to discuss things - what is the value in discussing something that can not ever happen? More specifically, we were assured virtual goods sales would be restricted to vanity items only. So why debate introducing non vanity items? It will never happen anyway.

...unless you're considering going back on your word, but I'd like to think you guys are better than that.

Way to completely miss the point and sweep the real issues under the carpet with this blog.

You no longer have the confidence of the community. You have managed to contradict and suppress yourself into a position of zero trustworthiness. This is not something you can PR yourselves out of it requires a drastic change in organisational culture (good luck), a drastic change in communications strategy (good luck)

Read this very carefully, CCP.

Edit: Since most people only read the first couple pages and the last few of a thread, I'm going to try to use this spot for important links: - CCP Shadow states NO microtransaction plans. - CCP Manifest says the plan in reaction to this ridiculous nonsense is a change in direction. That's not what this dev blog showed. - CCP Zulu responds later in this thread stating intent of blog. I for one still left unsatisfied. That's what she said. - Leaked e-mail from CCP Hilmar saying that all this nonsense, including the reaction from us, is as planned. An astounding 52 people have bought monocles. If you see one of these people, grief the crap out of them. They have every intent of doing as the please, no matter the community's response. I'm sorry to say, but 52*70 is a lot less than the accounts you are going to lose over this.

The point isn't that the newsletter represents opinions and not policy. The point is that many of your developers have opinions that run directly contrary to the feelings of your players. This isn't minor fluff stuff. This is opinions on the very direction of the game being changed from what made it great.

You want to ask if those ideas are good for your company? Ask the players. You have your answers. 200 pages of them, and more to come.

You claim incarna was a smooth and successful expansion? Does that include the complete gimping of multiboxing? The melting graphics cards? At least you could reinstall windows after a broken boot.ini for free. What about the useful and time saving features that went away with the old station interface? This is not a smooth release. Not even by CCP standards. Even if it was a perfect release (that didn't have several quick fix patches within a day of release and still contains major bugs), it was an expansion that added NOTHING to the gameplay experience. It isn't interesting. It isn't useful. It doesn't add anything that wasn't in the game before, and indeed ended up removing many features that were once there. If successful expansion means underdelivering at a level never before achieved, then yes. This was successful.

Did you notice that the pricing structure paragraph said absolutely nothing? That's a lie. It said "you can spend money on this super expensive stuff if you want to. Some people will be jealous, some will think you're a total git."

Well, that sure explains the philosophy behind it.

It shocks me that it took you guys 24 hours to write nothing. Don't crowdsource the next dev blog between your employees. Find the employee who's most ****ed off about this situation, and let them write about what's wrong at CCP that led to this nonsense. Don't edit them. Don't review them. Let them talk to us in good old English anger speak.

Ugh. Why do you just talk around the issues instead of addressing what we're concerned about?

Are you adding more than vanity MTs or not?
