Sorry to ask a real newb question, but I have read a few comments about people Laundering ISK. I wonder what that is about and why people would do it. Surely there would be no reason to "Launder" ISK within the game? If you make isk, even through scamming or crime within the game, it is still "legit" for your character to have that isk. So why the need to Launder?

It is generally attributed to people who engage in RMT.

In a nutshell, RMT.

Basically if you had a billion isk on your main that you wanted to sell, any sane person wouldnt want to risk their main being banned for $25 (the going rate for a bill these days).

So people launder it through alt accounts, contracts and fake scams and then biomass the character after.

Is this laundery-stuff somehow connected to dozens of
8.888.888,88 ISK items i saw on the market in sinq laison ?

Can't recall the item right now,
but it was spread around several stations, all set at that price.
