...to the forums.

I logged into the game today after reading dozens of posts today (and responding in several threads.)

A half dozen Corpmates were online and I thought I'd commiserate with them. I started to talk about the myriad issues and they collectively asked WTF I was talking about. They'd been in-game a couple hours and going about regular corp biz. A couple mentioned the new station environs, but all in all they weren't worked-up about anything. Two of them didn't even know about the noble exchange stuff.

So I realized that part of the problem (mine, at least) was that I let myself sit and fester with all of the negative attitudes onthe forums, and don't "just play the game."

So I'm taking an hiatus from the forums for a while and focus on playing...for fun. Because it's a game. No reading or posting...14 days is my goal. We'll see if it doesn't lighten my attitude a bit.

GL solving all of the problems you're having. o/

Well, i don't want to blame you or anything, but it sounds for me like digging your head into the sand. The issues are here, even if you don't see them "most of the time".

Awesome. Go stick your head in the sand. Don't come crying on the forums when you realize 6 months to a year down the road that your game has been royally ****ED!!

People will always find something to whine about, internal documents are internal for a reason. The only interesting thing on the matter is who leaked it.

Good for you.

You have escaped the forum trap.

The only time time you should be on the forums is to laugh at what a bunch of inbred losers these narrow-minded ingrates are.

I applaud your decision, sir.

The EVE forums are a festering cesspool of nothingness and disease.

I am going to follow suit and just play EVE. Though forum-speak reaches into some of the public channels from time to time.. may have to turn those off as well.

Well, my self-imposed forum ban is expired and I only return to say that is has been the most stress-free couple of weeks (eve-wise) that I've had in quite some time. Not surprisingly, it has been the most I've enjoyed being in-game in over a year.

The forums are a closed loop of self-perpetuating problems. I've found that the game is fun and is fine. I will keep playing it until otherwise. I don't see it as my role to influence or steer the direction of the game or CCP. I have enough such stress in RL.

"Head in the sand?" Meh...you can look at it that way, but again...I don't work for CCP. I'll play the game they produce until it's not fun for me anymore.

But my forum days are officially done. It was the best choice I've made in game in quite some time.

See you in-game (if you get off the forums Very Happy)

For once I agree with Epeen. I assume he's talking about CCP.

From a fascinating Vanity Fair article about Iceland (Mittens linked this on twitter a week or so ago.):

"Icelanders are among the most inbred human beings on earth—geneticists often use them for research."
