This thread is rather entertaining. People still coming in here, whining about the same old stuff, making really insane demands of CCP that have absolutely no hope of ever being entertained by ANY sane company.

And what's even more hilarious are the quitters who never really quit. Don't threaten, just do it. Don't just suspend your sub...liquidate your accounts, sell your characters in the bizarre, and leave. And no, paying for it with PLEX doesn't mean you're "not giving another red penny to CCP"...you ARE, just by proxy.

Anyway, carry on...

I'm going to sell my character on the bizarre!

hmmm, i already cancelled by subscription, 1 account will end on the 3rd week of July, the other on the 2nd week of August, just 2 accounts amongst 300k-400k accounts current if the figures are right.

Even so, i'm still hoping that CCP will turn around on its decision pertaining to Non-Vanity items in the Nex, thus, i still haven't neglected keeping my skill queue full, though i stopped doing missions about 5 days back [i'm a mission *****].

If things really go south, i won't sell my toon, i'll just liquidate my ingame assets, buy as many PLEX as i could and just leave the game, same thing i did with my WoW account. :))

i just needed to bold-quote that.

It is just a rehearsal of the old tired arguments: we didn't mean it, it was just a discussion document, we're sorry. **** that. If you think that that is the case you can take your turn at the CCP funny farm. That wasn't a discussion document, that was an announcement with a safety disclaimer. They meant every damning word of it, and CCP is only sorry because it came out like it did. The only way to avoid it is to get rid of MT in EVE entirely. Anything else CCP simply can't be trusted with. It really is that clear cut right now ...

I think this may have been the best quote in this entire sordid issue.

A word of advice to CCP:
When in hole, stop digging.

Seriously, was this your attempt to dupe the playerbase of EvE into shelling out more money than ever in order for you to fund your Dust project?

And now that it backfired you apologize and ask for parley so you can try and sweettalk the CSM representatives with your best silvertongued corporate spokesman in a CCP controlled environment to get the geese and cows back in the farm?

I wish to commend Pann for taking the leap and face the brunt of the assault, but at present time my trust and confidence in CCP's conduct has weakened severely (and that's putting it mildly).

I have changed my mind. I no longer believe that MT automatically would kill Eve. I will quote my reasoning from another thread.

Originally by: Ra Vhim

Well, I have been thinking quite a lot about MT since this patch. Before the patch I didn't care. When it started to look like non-vanity items may be coming then I hated the whole MT idea. Now I believe that it might be possible if they only sell blueprints at Eve-prices (what it would cost in ISK on the normal market - no clothes for starship prices).

If they do that then I wouldn't care if they put every NPC bpo in NEX and turn it to a blueprint market. It would require that CCP drop the idea to have roflol prices and keep it within reasonable prices in Eve. I wouldn't care if I buy a bpo from the market or NEX as long as the price is about the same in ISK value (I would simply buy a PLEX from the market).

However, with the prices CCP take in the NEX this would be impossible. A cup of coffee in the NEX shop would cost like hundreds of AUR because it is really good coffee! I can't even guess how many hundreds of billions of ISK a raven NPC blueprint would cost if CCP keep up with their pricing.

Edit: I must add that this would probably encourage CCP to give us new useful mods and ships. Not all BPOs would be expensive (keeping the price about what is standard in Eve) but a lot would be sold.

*Twitch* Confused

In theory, perhaps, if everyone agreed, in principle. The traders running stockades etc to sell bpo's in Jita might not see it that way though, hmmm... YARRRR!!

However...
They charge $20 for a virtual shirt ($19.99 in store)
They charge $70 for a virtual monocle ($5 to $35 on ebay)
What, pray tell, do you think they will charge for the blueprints and schematics for an interstellar battleship ?

(Hint: Never mind the bpo, building Space Shuttle Endeavour cost about US$1.7 billion.Shocked)

You use BPO's as an example but you are failing to consider all of the existing player owned BPO's. By moving the BPO's to the NeX market you have put thousands of real dollars, isk euros into the hands of the industrial players who have purchased masive amounts of bpo's over time. The only way the NeX could work is IF you had to exchange a like player made object, just like you do with most of the items in the LP stores and that items stats were the same as a faction item with only cosmetic differences. This might have had a chance before last week but I think now we would never buy off on it.

The one thing that bugs me is the loss of functionality in the hanger because of Incarna and the equipment overheating and absue due to trying to run the CQ on most graphics cards. Hat's off to those players who can afford the higher end cards but I beileve that for a good portion of the player base turning off CQ is not only a performance but equipment saving neccesity.

I've already unsubscribed my accounts and will be waiting to see what happens, but I'm not jumping back into a sinking boat until I know it's seaworthy again.

CCP will never sell BPOs from the Nex for a simple reason. BPOs don't depreciate in value. They tend to instead appreciate in value as they are researched. Once there are enough BPOs out there, the BPCs are not far behind, then the market is full of ships and no one needs to buy another BPO.

If they start selling BPCs for a RifterPlus, then that creates a pay to win item and we're right back where we started.

I've been seriously thinking about cancelling my account because of all this crap. I haven't done it yet, but the nail in the coffin, methinks, is after ALL THIS TIME, you CCP reps still will not allow me to add a freaking SURNAME to my character. Even after you've separated first / last names, and made it pretty much mandatory for new players to have one. You want me to stay a loyal, paying customer after you've destroyed the trust of this community? Well then, give me the option to make a last name for myself. Seriously.

Bear with me to the end people!

How, here's is the thing, the very thing so it is.

I used to play World of Warcraft a LOT. I was one of the richest players in the sodding game (and didn't my health suffer for it!)

But they started on this slippery slope.
Pay for server transfers...
Pay for a sex change...
Pay for race changes...
Then you got your shiny ponies ... and pets ... and more mounts and more pets. They took the subs (that pay the artists etc) and put them on the store to sell back to the players. When I saw all this crap going on I started getting madder and madder. They were working it up the very players that are keeping Activision from going bust.

They haven't got to putting game changers like legendary weapons on the store (yet) but I saw were it was heading and did not like it one little bit. So I played less and less, moving here instead last year.

And bugger me if they don't start that crap here!!!

I log into Incarna and get IN YOUR FACE. YOU BUY NEX NOW. We love you long time for it!. As soon as I saw it my back went up.

Anyway, I was talking about WoW...

WoW with it's pets and ponies and paid everything (that CCP is clearly drooling over)... And this is were that path starts to lead:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/06/28/world-of-warcraft-starter-edition-lets-you-reach-lvl-20-for-free/

World of Warcraft Starter Edition lets you reach lvl 20 for free

Quote:
If there was one thing, one thing, keeping humanity safe from total enslavement to the grind of World of Warcraft, it was the fact that you have to pay to play the game for longer than a couple of weeks. Well, now we're all doomed. Blizzard is replacing its 14-day WoW trial with a so-called Starter Edition of the massively multiplayer life usurper, which lets you reach level 20 without shelling out a penny. Of course, like any good gateway drug, this freebie is capped at the thoroughly insufficient 20 number and is sure to agitate folks into buying the full product.

*THAT IS WERE THIS RTM PATH LEADS!*

Can you imagine that - here - to get you new players to play the start them off with 10,000,000 SP and a link to the NeX store for a ship of your choice with daddies credit card.

And don't think it can't happen!
