FU CCP, never been treated like that. You litteraly insults us.

I wont pay any more for this game. That's it.

I think from now on you are willing to make things your way, without gamers. Well, hope it works for you.

I will do the same and continue without you.

Greed is good,...

Here's my view on your magazine's slogan:
Greed is so good that it Bankrupted your country. Greed is so good your country has a debt of Billions to the Netherlands and England that it still is not able to repay. God knows how much money Iceland still owes to the rest of the EU,... Not feeling so smart now with that company magazine, right?

Obviousely you don't seem to learn from the mistakes made in the past (no, i'm not saying this is a mistake you made, but one can also learn from the mistakes of others, as it can learn from the successes) but hey,.. who am i to speak right? afterall i'm just a Goose in your flock, am i not? It's a shame CCP, you have became so obsessed with Greed, that you have put your Goose with the golden eggs on the slaughterblock and killed it, just to see if you could pull out some more eggs in a higher rate.

Realy, i do hope you don't get me wrong, becouse i love the game that you have going with EVE and i am realy hurt to see it slip down this road. I can tell you for a fact that i would have been playing this game for many more years to come. But as it stands right now,... You can have my two alt's back,...

Ironicly to say, World of Darkness suits CCP's style becouse you'r like a vampire bleeding EVE to death with yet an other way of taxing an already paying player base.

Here you go,.. you can have them back,... maby one day i might re-activate these alts,.. that is, the day i can see that the path you are taking with your Micro Transactions (or should i say Astronomical Transactions?) is not going to affect gameplay (wich it obviousely will becouse you are already planning on implementing Non-Vanity, game altering items in your store, completely undermining the economy of EVE). Well,.. It's time to say goodbye to my two alts...

Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.

Please visit your user settings to re-enable images.

By the way,.. Do you remember that commercial clip, The butterfly effect...
Let's get real, shal we. We are not playing a game that is a SANDBOX. Are we,.. what did that guy say,... "Where every move you make will have an effect on the whole universe around you." Or did that only aply to the game and not the FORUMS?

We are not playing a game that is a SANDBOX of many, We are playing a game that is an ANTFARM to a fiew.

It's truely painfull to see how bad you lost contact with the people that have stood behind you all these years...

Asteroid belt of Text

I am a relatively new player to Eve Online. What attracted me to the game was the sandbox and the vision of what this game COULD become. I am sure this is true for alot of people.

The idea of MMO-Elite was certainly NOT new and orginal to my mind. A wide open uuniverse, political wranglings, power-play, war, player driven industry. All very exciting concepts that as Eve players we buy into. They are NOT the game CCP has delivered. They are the game the community has created.

Reading stories of the BOB wars got me excited about this, the scams etc. Never the mechanics of the engine.

I think CCP have riden the wave of this collective conciousness, they were able to deliver the seed of this vision that allowed the community to grow. I think the danger here is if they believe this vision is thiers alone.

I understand the development process, CQ is a step in development, do I think it has under-delivered? No I don't. I am hopeful that the vision will be realised.

The risk to CCP is we stop being hopeful and stop sharing the vision.

(As an aside, why don't CCP think about opening the engine up to the community? The CP modding community is brilliant and capable of great things. Imagine if the community had the capability to bring about the changes we all want with CCP/BFF acting as the "Editors" This would revolutinise the ability to deliver the ultimate space sim far more than turning Eve into Spaceville)

EDIT:I don't think the back story is that awesome, I do see it as an aside to the game.Sorry

Does the fact that the people were asked to portray different extreme viewpoints in that internal communication now make sense?

I don't see any "different extreme viewpoints" in that bulletin...

It's just either MTs or MTs...

and the article by CCP Morlock is imo even more damning than the Soundwave bit.

Also notice how Hilmar explicitly refers to Fearless as a means of communicating company strategy/policy.

Oh my, you really don't get it do you...

nope, apparently I don't get it.

Here are the posts on that whole mess I put some effort in, maybe read them to see my POV:
Linkage - considerations on the MMOs/RL hobbies comparison
Linkage - on pricing of NeX items
Linkage - what I asked for from CCP
Linkage - my take on Turbefield
Linkage, Linkage - unhappy players are just a symptom/short-term problem; unhappy employees are the real danger
Linkage - I don't like it but maybe CCP's "too much too fast" line of reasoning is right
Linkage - no idea how CCP can even respond to that criticism

Okay.

Greed is Good is the catch phrase of Gordon Gekko (or rather the person he is based on) in Wall Street. That person personified greedy business practices and ripping off the customer, and ended up spending the rest of his life in prison for it.

People were asked to portray these points of view in that newsletter to air those very issues.

In essence, the damn thing is a corporate morality play, which puts things in a completely different context than it was originally presented to the EVE community via the "leak".

If you don't agree with that point of view, fine, but at least understand it.

The current rage is not about the high NEX prices, not about CQ, not about performance issues - all this can be fixed.
It's about trust.
Trust, that the hobby which the players are very dedicated (lots even addicited) to, will be developed in a direction the players want to.
Trust, that all the time (and money) the players did and are going to spend building up virtual worlds, will stay valuable to them in the future.
Trust into the service provider (CCP), so you actually like to support the company with your real money.
Trust, that the current issues will be fixed in good way.

And trust is lost so easily...
One way to get the trust maybe(!) back would be to start now polls for the paying customers.
- What features do you want to see in future?
- With what priorities?
- Which not at all?
- How should CCP (which might be in a financal crises) be financed?

CCP, you gotta be *fearless* now to face reality (which you lost), or you gonna loose more trust, your players, your game(s), your money, your company.

On the upside CCP is leaking like a sieve right now. So there's still people in the company who cares enough to try to change the direction they're heading. It's kind of sad though that they cannot do it internally. It really says a lot.

I'm realistic, I understand this is a business you want to make profit out of and so on, I've no problem with that.

But, Zulu, if you think that dev blog was an acceptable way of responding to the concerns of the player base, you're quite wrong.

People want to know whether there is a long-term goal within CCP to introduce real-money purchases of non-vanity/cosmetic items. If the answer is no, tell us - at a stroke, people are placated. If the answer is yes, your silence suggests it is a plan you have so little faith in you are afraid to outline it to the people it will directly affect.

And if you have no faith in it, why do it?

- secure your game (same)
- fix RMTs (same again...)

To all...
It's true, that that email is somewhat a disgrace, but it's an e-mail form 1 person, right?
And it' true, that we all see what CCP is up to NOW, but what will happen tomorrow? Or After that?
We can only assume, nothing else.

True, I am only playing since 3 years, and have only 2 accounts - but I am not rich. If I couldnt buy plex ingame with mining or doing missions, I couldn't even play EvE any more, I just can't afford it.

If you want to, stop playing, start protesting, whatever... but this will not lead to good things.

...of course, it would be much easier, if CCP would respond - but I bet they are either on holiday, or they are thinking. Or, they simply dont give a c... .

For me, EVE Online is one of the best games out there. It still is, although CCP DID take a large dump this time around.

Unlike most people, i won't cancel my subscription because of a small, what should we call it? Miscalculation? Temporary taken over by greed? Developers who made NeX, i'm looking at you.

Apparently, CCP didn't listen to the community & actual players this time around. Next time you decide to make an Expansion, i would suggest you make polls, ask the community/gamers and those interested, in what would be a good addition, and what not, and what PRICES to put on ****. Oh, and try not to have outside help/support/development, unless they know how the market/Game mechanic works. If they play EVE, that would help a lot.

You failing to communicate with us players was a fail on your part. A big fail.

Hope you correct this fast,
Josh

So funny that players have to unsub to be heard, CCP, you totally $%^& UP.

I'd go play WoW if it was fun, crappy graphics BUT customer service.

Bring good customer service, listen to your customers, and you will keep and get more customers. I know it's %&*(ing hard to believe but it works like that.

Fine if you don't cancel subs, but why are you posting?
CCP has made it clear, talk means nothing.
Basically, be quiet and take it, or cancel sub.

Hey CCP, you should really look up what happened to SWG...

Quote:
Another major update called the "New Game Enhancements" (abbreviated as NGE) was implemented on 15 November 2005, and created huge demonstrations in game from the majority of players, and became available in retail on 22 November 2005 as the Star Wars Galaxies: Starter Kit

Quote:
Subscriber numbers were originally expected to exceed 1,000,000.[50] In August 2005, SOE reported that they had sold 1,000,000 boxed copies of the game.[51] In early 2006, unconfirmed reports showed that only 10,363 subscribers were playing on a particular Friday night

Quote:
We've learned a thing or two with our experiences with the NGE and don't plan on repeating mistakes from the past and not listening to the players.
óJohn Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainmen

Quote:
On June 24th 2011, SOE has announced that Star Wars Galaxies will be shutting down. The date announced for this is December 15th, 2011. According to the announcement, both LucasArts and SOE came to the agreement.

It is clear from the general thrust of the newsletter which side of the argument won, it has been confirmed by the NEX store, re-confirmed by the dev blog, and clinched by the leaked email.

I am unhappy with the direction CCP are taking EVE Online and have deactivated my automatic renewal, i currently have 55 days left on my account.

I am saying NO to M-T and i will be taking my buisness elsewhere unless there is a substantial turn around within the next 55 days.

As a customer i have throughly enjoyed my 7 months of EVE, my thanks go to the Developers and the community for all their effort and hardwork.

However the managements actions and attitudes on this matter show that they do not respect (or even understand) their customers desires and as such i will not give my money to them, be it EVE, Dust or WoD.

For me, its time to find a new hobby, perhaps i will become a golfer who likes to finish 18 holes on saturdays.
