8 year vet speaking and after having put up with a lot of bull**** from this game in all this time, if manual transactions are introduced that allow in game advantages, wich can't be destroyed no matter what happends in game, then you're ruining one of the fundamental principles of the game since it was launched nearly a decade ago....It's death penalty.

And yes, if i see those become available in a future patch or expansion, then i quit the game too.

Uhh, I think we are well past that question now.

I really think EVERYTHING has been ANSWERED now.

We got all the truth we need now. It is clear the future (or lack thereof).

FOUND THIS ON A BLOG SEE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE CCP NOT ONLY EXISTING PLAYERS BUT PLAYERS TO BE HAVE SEEN YOUR BULL ****

I don't even play EVE regularly but reading the forums the last few days has been morbidly fascinating. Based on what I've seen both before and after the dev blog was posted, very little in the way of actual concerns was addressed, especially regarding the demands for an answer on whether "micro"transactions would indeed eventually encompass non-vanity items.

Sadly, my interest in World of Darkness fades more the longer they mismanage this mess.

Jesus, zulu way to not answer the elephant in the room.

Also, are you really that dense? If I were to buy a pair of $1000 pants it is because I want some shallow gold digging bimbo to think I am rich and sleep with me.

What do your $50 dollar digital pants get me? Some cyber sex with a guy named Phil pretending to be the voluptuous female pirate Sexay Pants in her CCP lingerie(only $220!).

(Only read the first 20 pages, so bear with me)

To the OP, thank you for taking the time to interact with us to try and resolve the issues presented here.

I cannot begin to express my disappointment with the events over the few weeks or so. I have been playing Eve since 2004. That is a testament to the remarkable game you have created and the incredibly involved community that has grown with Eve and, to an extent, with CCP as a whole. Through that time, I have lived through a lot of other CCP related amusements, but, when the dust settled, although I was usually a bit saddened, I still had faith that CCP had an understanding, or at least empathy for its player base. I felt CCP was worth trusting in that they knew their players and what they wanted.

I cannot feel that way any more.

I look at the events/issues that have brought us to this point, and the main ones (3PP fees, Incarna release, and the infamous ‘Greed is Good’ PDF) all point to one thing: CCP does not know how to interact with its players. All of these items, whether we as players liked or disliked them, were turned into a massive conflagration of hate because CCP’s ability to communicate with the player base was, at the very best, done poorly and with little understanding of how we, as players, view Eve and Eve’s future.

Right now, CCP’s vision of the game and the players’ vision of the game are not the same. How did this happen? How did these visions split and turn into so much rage? CCP, the company, has on many fronts failed to communicate with us HONESTLY and FORTHRIGHTLY. How can we know your vision when you tell us one thing (Incarna optional, MT for Vanity items only) but then turn around and say/do something different? (Incarna temporarily optional, planning on MT for non-vanity items) How can we share your vision if we cannot trust what you say? What we need is to have a clear understanding of where you, CCP, see Eve heading so that we, the players, can either comment on it, commit to it or, if we do not like what we see, move on.

You also have so many tools (the CSM, the fanfest round tables, the devblogs/comments, the forums) to both air your ideas and vet them, and yet they never seem to be taken seriously. You try to communicate with us, ask us for feedback, ask for our help in testing/solving issues. This is great, and the players respond to the call. However, the feedback almost never gets taken seriously or even seems to be acknowledged. Many a time we get CCP people commenting on how whiny we are or that we should HTFU.

You want to know why we are angry? We are angry because, at this point in time, CCP has lost touch with us, the players. CCP has taken our trust and passion for their product and stomped on it not once, but repeatedly. CCP has asked us for what we want and, when we answered, gone in a completely different direction. CCP has a vision for the future, but it will not share it with the players. We love this game. We want to still love this game as we move forward, but we cannot do that if CCP cannot be honest with us and tell us where they, CCP, want to see Eve go in the future. Let us know that and, if you want our help in shaping Eve’s future, show us that we matter to you as more than just fountains of dollars and actually listen to us. Work with us. But do not lie to us.

Thanks to CCP Zulus utter arrogance i will no longer be playing EVE. It was waiting for the devblog to explain themselves.

How did they do? WORSE than the CEOs of the banks in the credit crisis in USA and that's saying something. They were also out of touch with reality but CCP Zulu showed he belongs to that crows and i will NOT support a company with that kind of attitude.

So long EVE players, to those day stay brace yourself for a painful trip in what you used to call an enjoyable game.

My RL pants cost less than $5

They still look remarkably like a pair of blue jeans, it's amazing.

Boycotting pointless and unwanted AURUM, and allowing my subs to expire unless CCP confirm no 'I win' buttons for aurum, and give us an option to restore classic hanger view.

FOR ****'S SAKE.

Are you all two-year-olds? You are all overreacting tremendously. Until they actually implement items and boosts that can be bought with AUR that provide real in-game advantages, then you all are *****ing about nothing. It's purely vanity at this point; a stupid move, yes. Agreed. But they aren't selling skills as of now, they aren't selling loyalty points yet; until they do, calm the **** down, the lot of you.

What about the future of non-vanity items in the store?

CCP Zulu,

You have not addressed any concerns as stated by the players. What you have done is addressed what you think should have been addressed, Big Freaking Difference. You arent hearing or acknolagding what any of the players wanted you too, rather only what you (or your bosses) want.

Anyways I'll just leave this here: Unholy Rage

Over 10% of the total active players on Eve-Online have posted in this thread (obviously not including repeat posters). This does not include the mass of players who do not visit the forums. Many of these players have unsubscribed. CCP - You have ruined your reputation and I fear of what may happen to this game we all love to bits.

The community is seriously outraged at the actions of over the last few years. You guys can still EARN back our trust and save this game, but the current madness must stop.

It's such a simple formula. Listen to your customers, they are your bread and butter! If your customers are happy, they'll keep playing your game. If they are unhappy, they'll leave. Eve Online is unique and it will be a sad, sad day if we ever see the day when people no longer play Eve Online on-mass, an empty carcass of it's older, former glory. We all built this game up from the first player from scratch, isk by isk, hour by hour.

CCP, you CAN kill this game if you keep up the attitude of the last few years.

Do you really want that?

You have ONLY MONTHS to fix the current issue as many of the unsuscribed people leave.

DO NOT SCREW THIS UP.

CCP understanding of the word Fearless.

The ability to bravely copy what other companys are doing in a way that does not work with your existing product, whilst also ignoring the demands of your paying customers.

From the point of view of a company that wants to continue trading, yeah this is pretty fearless.

It's probably worth pointing out that forums are terrible places to register your dissatisfaction with a company. Social media channels can work better due to their greater visibility to the public.

Twitter – http://twitter.com/#!/ccpgames
FaceBook – http://www.facebook.com/eveonline

According to Wikipedia CCP's main investors are General Catalyst, and Novator (unable to confirm that last one)

Both of those websites have contact details and the thought occurs that some rational correspondence with these organisations concerning these events, your thoughts regarding their handling, and the potential consequences that this might have for their investment, might be effective in bringing these issues to the attention of CCP when evidently they aren't making the transition from the forums.

I would like to point out that abusive communication with anyone's staff CCP or otherwise, is not only a disgusting way to treating people who are mostly just trying to do their jobs, but it seriously damages the chances of our arguments being taken seriously outside this of community.

I don't think anyone should be fired for contributing to an internal planning exercise, I don't even have a major problem that it existed, but I am deeply concerned by the massive disconnect that seems to be occurring between this games developers and it's customers.
