YOU BLEW IT. You had a chance to answer some questions, win back some players, not satisfy everyone but try and win back the level headed ones and you blew it. You took all this time to post some arrogant, double talk response that doesn't answer anything and then say I hope this answers all your questions? WTH - actually answer some questions and listen to your players. You don't have to agree with them or change your stance, but actually listen to them and acknowledge that we are more than a paycheck to you.

"Seriously, these people were doing their jobs and do not deserve the hate and ****storm being pointed at them."

So what you are saying is that the ****storm and hate should be directed at the liars that gave them the job of debating about something that they've explicitly promised they'd never do ? Give us some credit CCP Zulu, we already figured as much. The ****storm isn't directed at some poor employee, it's directed at those who actually get to make (rather poor) decisions.

Dev blog made it worse.

Proved that CCP is STILL apparently clueless about many of the core issues brought up in this thread.

man....this is sad...because I really loved this game. I ONLY played this game. It was all I had time for. It was the ONE I choose.

My biggest issue...get me the hell out of CQ. Feel free to develop.... but this CQ is crazy.

Now what? Camp Jita until our accounts expire?

Wow we've been shafted now for what - 2 years or so? This was the plan for EvE all along, ever since the Dust initial concept, wasn't it? That April fools dev blog with the AmmoAnywhere! joke... a marketing test flag?? How long has CCP been telling us one thing while planning the opposite? It had to have been in the works long before it was ever allowed as a topic for open for discussion in internal newsletters.

This "commit to excellence" drivel that we all heard last year and dismissed as a meaningless platitude when you didn't deliver may actually have been a real and serious goal. Just not one that involved EvE Online as we players were expecting.

How exactly does CCP view EvE Online at this stage? Its been dumbed-down a few times, first with bloodline skillpoint distribution, then with Learning Skills, and just recently with agent divisions. Add in faction rep, ships, ammo and probably skillpoints into a cash shop and then you have a nice Entire Game Micro Transaction set up as an MT for the new Dust players, where most if not all have computers hooked up to the internet ready to go. Not bad for an aging MMO that has been milked to death just prior to the launch. Not a bad deal for the console kids either, to extract revenge on the corp that just wasted them planetside by paying to win. Of course this is all speculation, but now that you've completely destroyed your credibility, reputation and trust I don't know what to believe. But it sure looks like its headed that way.

But unfortunately the timing got messed up. Parasites are not supposed to kill their host. Its not good for them and its not good business for a corporation.

CCP Pann I do not envy you. As the person in charge of PR its your job to deal with this mess, and we're the easiest of the lot to deal with. We're just customers with a vested interest in our ships, corps and skillpoints.

Now CCP has gone from arguably the most respected dev in the business to the laughing stock of the industry. In less than a week. And the trust, credibility and reputation out in the general gaming community includes all of your potential new subscribers for Dust, who at this point have no vested interest at all. Ouch.

Even worse, when all this finally blows over you have your venture capitalists to deal with, who regardless of them being "on board" with the direction CCP has taken, will understandably be very angry at seeing their multi-million dollar investment suddenly become riskier.

Of those three groups, which one will you be addressing when CCP formulate a plan of moving forward? If its us players, then I'm interested in hearing what you have to say.

Credibility and respect can be bought if you have enough money to get back on track and fix the problems, but trust will take years if ever. Nevertheless if you're serious about fixing your game, then I'd suggest a few things to consider:

1) Microtransactions. Do what you will with them - lower them and watch the price of Plex rise, keep them the same and look like fools to the industry, or just scrap the idea all together and dump the resources into the character creator with an apology to the player base. Or just add your skillpoints ammo and facton rep as an offering and watch everything burn. I don't really care that much at this stage.

2) Invest multiple teams into fixing stuff that you should have been fixing for the past couple of years, like faction wars, 0.0 and lowsec. Don't wait for an expansion to release them, do a few things at a time, test them properly and get them out in weekly or bi-weekly patches so that we can see that there's a real effort being made.

3) Communicate with us and actually listen to the CSM, and ACT on the recommendations.

4) Move Soundwave and Zinfandel out of the public eye entirely - forever. Stick them in the mailroom or the kitchen. Their views are what has caused this to blow up in your collective faces.

5) Free Helicity Boson.

Erhm. NeX prices were intentional and will go higher. Yikes.

I have no idea what point was trying to be made about the $1000 jeans.

Fearless being a mechanism to encourage internal debate is fine.

However, a lack of any definite statement about MTs for in-game advantage isn't good. Even a "everything in regards to MT is on the table" is better than ignoring the issue.

I'm going say "swing and a miss" in regards to Gylfason's response.

I apologize to all of you, but, my first canceled subscription doesn't run out until the 3rd of July. I've made an agreement to pass on my alliance and my 'stufz' to whichever of my two managers continues to play, or let it burn if neither does.

So, I'm going to continue to play, and add to my stufz as long as possible. Unfortunately, two of my subscriptions were renewed this week, so the 4th one won't expire until July 22.

Once again, I'm sorry for the apparent lack of social conscience, but an addiction is an addiction.

Any ETA on getting answers to the questions asked?

Some guy posted a dev blog but he didn't seem to have read anything that's been posted.

Would be good to get some sort of response from CCP.

By the way, as far as immersion goes, CCP please explain how a pair of boots or whatever costs as much as a fully fitted battleship?

If clothes are so expensive, does that mean my crew are all naked or in loincloths or something?

If my crew has clothes, why can't I confiscate them and sell their clothes for millions (billions?) of isk.

I won't even get into the whole issue of getting out of my pod and cleaned and dressed in a mere few seconds.

Future of EVE:

"Dear Star Wars Galaxies™ Community Member,
We write to you today to inform you that on December 15, 2011, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) and LucasArts will end all services (MMO and Trading Card Game) for Star Wars Galaxies (SWG). The shutdown of SWG is a very difficult decision, but SOE and LucasArts have mutually agreed that the end of 2011 is the appropriate time to end the game."

this time i o have something to say. And not just for myself either as i hear a lot of complaints about the current effects CCP are having on our EVE gameplay.

Although i do like what CCP have done with the walking in stations, the vieuws is great and were bound to see more, it also greatly impacts the way we, your customers, play EVE online.

For example memory usage. CCP actively promotes the buying and using of multiple clients. Wich 75% of my alliance playerbase actualy has done. With your modification of walking in station, 50% of my players are no longer capable of running 2 accounts and walking in stations active. This is with people running on dualcore and quadcore machines with pritty advanced graphics cards.
This is a extremely painfull result of walking in stations. But it is fixable, by doing a trick like an eject from ship to station button and then loading the station environment. (slower but a whole load of more use friendly)

Secondly we get a lot of pain from the newly introduced bugs to the game. Like warp efffexts dissapearing, guns suddenly loosing ammo whilst the ammo is still in them. and not to mention the half a world of other advanced features the patch added. Complaining is not in my nature, so im not complaining, just stating that these things effect our gameplay.

Microtransactions in EVE
How lovely, ive picked EVE to play a game that did not have the greatness of look i got a huge wallet and spend a zillion dollars on this ship, and now i am invincible. For cloting and not realy usable things in game, yeah right fun of ppl realy like this. But forget it i will NEVER EVER pay real money for ingame extra content. Your not WOW, your not starwars, and your not the other crap gamepile that does this. In fact, your CCP and you made EVE onine. There is only one reason why you made EVE online, are still making this game,.

That reason us us, your custoumers.

It might be wise to take that picture into account. Perhaps if you got that picture there, take into account that most of us run reasonably modern hardware and pay for multiple acounts to run them simultainiously. If we no longer can, i will sell my second acount chars and stop paying. I think you can imagine many people will do the same.

So, CCP the table is yours, just keep in mind by looking at the 100+ pages that your playerbase is NOT HAPPY with what your doing...

Most of us do not buy special jeans and, hey, guess what, CCP? Most of us won't be buying your ******ed $60 monocle or even MORE expensive garbage.

Im not usually on the forums much, but Ill be happy to throw in a little sunshine.

1. I can appreciate the RL gaming-market, as being a hard, competitive place, where you dev´s constantly tries to keep up on your options to expand and make the economy work. Jebus knows, that CCP is one of the most ambitious outfits out there, imo. I like that, personally. I also realize, that to be that ambitious, has a lot of pro´s and con´s. Mostly short-termed. The more ambitious, the more likely it is to fail or go astray, at some point. We can accept, that that is the reality, or try to change it productively, Like miss Pann suggests. An option we should heed, if we want this game to go on, in any shape or form. Or we can keep demanding the impossible; that CCP is flawless and only exist to humor every single player equally. Not a realistic prospect, in my experience.
2. It seems that CCP takes our input VERY serious, from my chair. But its not fair to assume, that they will have a chance to answer all questions, all the time, to any pilot making a point. No game-dev in the world, can boast of such a thing.
Like I said, I like the ambitions of this sci-fi-classic. We may wait a while longer, till its all fantastic, with no errors or stupid new things, but if CCP means to stay in buisness, they will understand that. As they have in the past. At least on most points.
3. And a little praise to miss Pann: Its a very noble gesture, to throw yourself on the bon-fire. Good leadership, there, Miss Pann. Its encouraging to see. Keep that up. I just hope the carnivores out there, appreciate it too.
4. Just dont forget the guys with sucky PC´s, marketeers and the general bulk of EVE´ers out there, and youll be fine. And do reconsider the MT. It counter-sandbox-thinking, which would harm the game, beyond repair. But this is just an analysis, from a layman.

Keep making this game better to play. And get rid of the veritable "turd in the sandbox" Laughing
Kind regards
Wotan, the not so disgruntled

Please think. Read how this whole hype began. Then go through it slowly and carefully. And you see the rage which is venting there is indeed based on "wide theories" you created.

Thats ladies and gentlemen is called brainstorming without borders. You done it.

If you think that after this they gonna do exactly the thing you predicted and raged over, than i am sorry you cannot be helped.

If you think that was kind of productive, and will await positive outcome you are welcome.

Now appolgise where its due. And CCP free those you banned over this. Thank you in advance.

I may be naive. But Hope is just imaginary. So its up to you.

Thanks CCP

the devblog made perfect sense to me, it was an internal memo where employees got to post what if scenarios based on the current mmorpg market of EVERY GAME moving to microtransactions.

Eve FPS game Team Fortress 2 just went free 2 play with microtransactions

So easy peasy...

Ignore the Tards and back to business as usual, cancelled accounts mean nothing when there are more than twice the amount of plexes purchased per hour than accounts that will cancel
