I have been experiencing a strange problem with my client recently. I am out in an asteroid field, mining. I lock onto several asteroids and start mining. The rotating marker on my strip miners begins to rotate. I use the scanner and the marker rotates on that too, producing a report as normal. If the marker on the miners reaches full circle I get ore in the hold as is supposed to happen.

Then for no apparent reason, if I click on the miner, it turns red but does not stop. It does not respond any more. It seems to keep mining but no more ore appears in the hold. If I use the scanner at this point, that also turns red and fails to report. From now on nothing changes. I can go to the settings and back again, but nothing happens. I can even try to set course back to the station but the ship does not move. I have no choice but to logout and in again. When I get back, it takes a while for the asteroids to show up again, but then it all works again.

Anyone any idea why this happens? It was doing this before Incarna but not before Incursion. I had hoped Incarna would fix this but it has not.

I am running on a 2007 iMac with 4GB of RAM, with the latest Snow Leopard. I tried turning down the graphics - even lost the laser beam effect from the strip miners, which is a different issue. It still does this randomly. Some missions it does not happen. Not a good idea to logout with my ship still in space, even in high sec.

Any thoughts please? I turned off the NTP time update on the Mac, as people have suggested that might be hanging it, but no difference. Anyway, this happens too randomly for a regular thing like time update.
