I meant to get this posted before Incarna went live, but RL got in the way...

Anyways, before Incarna went live, the camera options for playing eve on dual monitors worked beautifully, save for one issue with the character creator.

As you can see in these pics(I apologize for their ****ty-ness), you can easily setup eve(in-space) to center your camera on one monitor, and it works very well to give you plenty of space for chat windows, overview, and good over all situational awareness.

When you dock and load CQ or try to use the character creator, your camera options are pretty much worthless, as at best, when you are zoomed in you can have your character about 1/3 the way towards the center of either monitor, and if that was true camera center i would just shut my mouth and deal with it...

BUT, while your camera may rotate around your character, when you go to move around, the direction in which you move is still centered on the middle of the screen, aka right on the line separating the 2 monitors! It is a royal bloody pain to navigate at all this way! Here are a few pics that show what I'm talking about, again sry for their ****ty-ness...

If I might make a suggestion as for a solution(s):

1. Make it so that we can truly center the camera on one monitor or the other, just like we can in the in-space client, not this current mess

2. make it so that cq and the character creator only load on the primary monitor, and just leave the secondary blank/blank with chat windows

thx for the detailed posting

Quote:
with mousewheel i can only zoom in like my first post and zoom out with the result of centering the character in the middle of both monitores like [___(][)___], this is useless on full dualview in fixed window mode.

i'll attach this thread at yours: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1534682&page=1
it has the same topic but your layout are much better. Embarassed

I'm glad to see i'm not the only one that's getting this issue, having to walk holding W and pressing D every couple of seconds seems a bit daft to me.

I have been complaining about the lack of ability to offset the camera in the new char creator since its first test in SiSi...
still no response (except CCP Chiliad's witty, on Duality when I was chatting to him during the first test of CQ that the solution was to buy a third monitor...)

I agree with all your points... and the pics help make it clear...
But atm I have no little to no hope that CCP are going to get anything right.

I second either or both of these solutions. Having the camera spin around the center of the 3D environment and not spinning around the character is a total mess, and makes station walking on dual monitors nearly unplayable.
