Stating the obvious, do not fall for this scam!
Congrats though to CCP for planning and pulling this one though - a little question to those of the community who are eXperienced in pulling scams/thefts:

How would you rate the AUR job done by CCP on a scale from 1 (poor) to 10 (awesome)?
Please include a personal opinion and how this might have been even more efficient?

Thanks in advance!

7, I believe. Done brilliantly, if not for some technical flaws and noticeable greed. Still, everything above 5 is a sure-go thing, so it's kinda good scam.

its not a scam. not even remotely

its a Vanity item, designed for people who have far to much money to know what to do with. not for the average person. They want these items to be rare, so when you spot one, you know someone made a big commitment to purchase it. Just like RL, you don't see a bloke with a monocle and think "what a charva" do you?

No, you know he's "upper class" and almost certainly wealthy. This is what its for dude. Rarity

Has nothing to do with.
Better luck next time.

I don't give a damn how "upper class" you make your pilot look, that won't preclude me from skulldrugging you're ass on a lowsec gate. Just saying. Besides your "upper class" is a little too 1940s ******'s Third Reich Gestapo for my tastes.

Thank you, that is all

CCP managed a herculean feat by so poorly managing expectations for Incarna 1.0 that it is truly astonishing.

I think they would have been better off pushing the Noble Exchange to the next patch rather than open with something so horrendous.

Gonna have to go with the 1/10 rating.

They announced the PLEX to Aurum conversion rate but did nothing to manage expectations. I should think that most people would have assumed that the conversion rate was designed so that items could cost LESS than one PLEX, but no they did it so items could cost 1.5 PLEX Rolling Eyes

Then to top it off all they put up there was one crappy outfit costing several PLEX all told to get, and the Monocle. Ironically, when they first started talking about the Monocle a couple months back or whenever that Dev Blog was, I thought it was a joke. Like a silly example of the kinds of items they could create Rolling Eyes

Let the RPers have their fun at their expense. The AUR shouldn't have much of an effect on me (at least not too noticeable).

CCP just did it so that they can Take some of the Plex back without giving a player 30 days of play its prety smart of them as much as it ****es us off.

I know i wont buy a $65 group of pixels in the shape of an ugly Jacket but im sure some duchebags will.

is it Fail? I think it depends on the way you look at it. from a finacial point of view CCP gets to take back some plex and then pretend that it listend to the comunity a few months from now when it "realizes" that they made a "mistake". and lower the prices and still take back more plex. from a PR point of view ppl are adicted to this game and will most likely keep playing it and those that leave will be minimal and will only be gone maybe a month or two if that. IMO any way .

well done ccp. i've long considered myself a smart capsuleer, knowing that i've never been scammed, but now that reality has turned upside down. well done, well done.

Well technically we've all believed to some degree the lies of the past 4 years so ya we all got scammed.

Overall however i have to give it a 1/10. It would work better if there were more zero's or a station container with some carbon.

Just goes to show dev's play wow and not eve.
