This may be intentional, but it appears that the exploding pleasure hub in 'Damsel in distress' is now affecting drones (previously it did not)

Pretty sure that it was in the patch notes that npc aoe damage effects would now hit drones.

So, if I experiance ''Shader model 3 is required to run this game'' eror does this mean ı either change my system or quit the game? I thought they make incarna be able to run on systems that is able to run previous patches. this realy is a shame even the relativyl new mmos works on my laptob but ı cant fly a few spaceship. May be ccp should to what they do best instead of acting like a wow wana be. I bought this game to fly spacecrafts but now ı cant play because of avatars.

they announced the new requirements a few weeks ago.

They announced the requirement to upgrade to Shader Model 3 months ago, not weeks. They announced it was optional with the new avatars back in Incursion, but would be required when Incarna rolled out.

Oh well isnt that just lovelyRolling Eyes

I don't know if this has been noted, CBA to read this whole thread.

CCP: I love the new turrets, however, you got the turret light colors on lasers BACKWARDS!

Before Incarna: T2 lasers had orange lights, and T1/Faction/Officer had blue.
After Incarna: T1 have orange, T2/Faction have blue, Officer have dark orange.

I don't mind giving Faction guns orange lights like T2, but please keep to what you had before and give T1 blue, and T2 orange.

Also, pretty sneaky to add dark orange for officer guns. Now every ganker will be able to see what ships have officer guns at a glance and plan their attack without so much as a ship scan... lol

As for the people complaining about performance in Incarna...

Jeez people, what are you using? a 386??
I'm getting 240-260 fps in space, and 90-100 fps in the station walking around. I had to change the interval setting to SLOW the game down!

System is AMD 3.3ghz 6 core cpu, 16gig ram, XFX HD6970 video, Win7 64bit.
EVE set to max quality, GPU temp never goes over 61c with GPU fan set to 40%, so all is well.

Memory use is higher than before though, 1.3gb ram used by eve when playing and going in and out of station.

I'm running the PC client and the floors and most of the station is transparent, so I can see my pod from the main room as if it were on the same deck as me. The floors are transparent to the point that I see the column behind my couch continue down to what looks like a white floored room. If I look at from the most vertical angle, the part of the column submerged under the transparent floor disappears entirely. Railings, and any protrusions from the station's walls are only transparent if an object is behind it (like the white room, the pod, or anything else.

I've got a 8800GT AMP with drivers that I updated today from NVIDIA's site. My computer is a Dell 390 Workstation with a Pentium 4 3GHz processor and 8GB of RAM running Windows 7 64-bit.

The first shutdown for my brand new Alienware M17x R3 happened today, with great surprise, with CQ's enabled... log says it was a GFX Card overheat that caused the shutdown to prevent damage to my system, so a 2200 Gaming laptop is having trouble with :

TODAY
One Client (AA medium, shadows off, HDR off, everything else high) @ 15 - 22 FPS

TWO DAYS AGO
Six clients (on full high graphics, running @ 1600 x 900, Shadows on, HDR on, AA x12) @ 45 - 60 FPS for all six clients

Somethign is wrong, please just admit it, you rushed incarna, its damaging hardware, and no one seems to get a response when their hardware is effected.

Oh well, time to completly disable CQ across all my accounts...

Incarna 1.0 aka the only expansion in my game time to be completly disabled within an hour...

I have downloaded the client from last night, and this current client download, and both off them say when i try to install. "unable to resolve url" thats from trying to install incarna directly. When I updated incursion with the promt from the main screen, the update worked but it would not allow me to enter the game saying unable to conect to server, or the port is not open. I'm on a pc with plenty off power to run eve, and eve has been working up till the incarna update, im so confused i dont know what to do i want to sit on me couch and drink my quafe zero.

I have been playing eve for a long time i have a mac laptop and i am very displeased the my mac laptop which is only 2 years old and i can no longer play eve online because mu graphics card is not good enough.....i think that's so not fair and i don't even know if i can afford a new computer just to play eve i love this game and would continue to play this game.....if i could so at this point I am just asking is the going to be a fix to this? Im sure im not the only person having these issues and i would like to know if they are going to be fixed or are we all boned and we have to all go out and either update or graphics cards? or.....if you are in my shoes my graphics card is hardwired to my computer mother board and i cant upgrade it so im boned? I would really like to know if there will be a fix to this?

1) From Splash Screen to Login Screen, Incarna is an epileptics & migraine suffers nightmare! Fast flashing screen of background/black then black/corrupt graphics cache then corrupt graphics cache/psychedelic version of login screen finally login screen! lasts approx 15 seconds (ASUS ATI 5850, 2Gb Ram, AMD 4600+ Dual Core, Bigfoot network card, titanium X sound card all drives up to date as of 1 march 2011)

2) Overall space, ships & structures are darker (Now added +10% gamma correction profile via ATITray for EVE, to match previous screenshots)

3) Sound now all set at max on in game settings to get back to original sound levels

4) FPS in space no change, ATI card is running harder though, fan on all the time!

5) After 45 mins play EVE = 1.25Gb of memory up from 600Mb after approx same time previously!

6) During CQ loading NAVCOM & Undock is frozen! (Therefore fast capacitor recharge & Shield repair not possible)

6) CQ Character at max, station settings at max! no drop in FPS! But graphics card topped over 70 deg C in under 5 min use and fan on overdrive! (Note same PC plays the Crysis engined Aion at max settings but the card runs at 58 deg C and low fan!)

7) Mining lasers disappear as they go in front of shadows on objects (Not tested it for other beams)

8) Avatar in CQ has plywood planks nailed to head for hair + the long hair at the back goes into and out of the jacket meaning the hairdo goes from bobby cut to long and back!

9) Unable to see through Characters eyes (This would be best for mirror)

10) Lighting in CQ is odd as the character does not seem to cast shadows!

Sometimes, when I dock up and I am standing on the dock, i cannot get my character to walk into the captains quarters.

He gets tired standing there. He needs to recline on the sofa. Can you take note and fix in the next patch? thank you :)

I have tried multiple times to use the autopatcher.

I have tried multiple times to use the manual download on the sidebar, ensuring after each failed attempt that I delete the download so as to get a fresh download.

Throughout all of those attempts, the repair tool hung:

I submitted a petition (2502696) via the Create New Petition sidebar, have received no response, and in fact I still don't see it under My Petitions.

I finally decided to just bite the bullet, and uninstalled EVE using the uninstaller provided by CCP. I then ensured that the latest download was also deleted. I went to the sidebar and started the full client download. DL itself went quicker than I thought it would. Hey Fred,

I'm in pretty much the same boat. I just discovered this little gem...

http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=124

They have changed the Minimum system requirements to 128MB video memory and don't offically support the 6000 Geforce cards, which mine is the same as yours.

The Shader 3 only... is a lie

Edit, I'm pretty sure that makes the only 9000 or whatever the estimated number who didn't have shader 3 capability, a much higher number who in reality can't play now, and realistically can't until they get a new PC. No upgrading my laptop.

Originally by: Fred EvilAfter Incarna's deployment, the Eve client now blue-screens my system. I tried a repair, no go, then a delete and full reinstall with same issue.

Error 0x7f, additionally, my wireless network refuses to connect for 2-3 minutes after the blue screen.

Running Windows XP Sp3, on an HP Pavilion DV6000 - nVidia GeForce Go 6150 video card.

Okay...I have just downloaded the new Incarna patch, and after the installation I tryied to fire up my client. Unfortunately I got this message:Shader Model 3 (SM3)support is needed to run this game. Click OK to close the game client.
So, it looks like that I have to get a whole new configuration in order to make that game running. I'm not able even to log on to see what my character is doing.
I'm using a notebook configuration, running Windows 7. Yeah, it's true that my laptop is 5 years old, but I don't see why I have to replace it with a new one only because of a game capprise? In a few hours I will try to enter the game through my desktop machine, which is only year old, I wonder what if I got the same message? My character is about to complete the trainee of some skill, and needed to get a new training schedule........

I still haven't noticed a dev reply to this issue, so I'll repost.
With HDR enabled the whole login screen is borked, nothing but blackness and non-functional user name and password fields. Hit esc once and you can see a bit of what should be in the bg of the login screen; Hit esc a second time and the EULA pops up and is unresponsive to user input. Disable HDR and the login screen looks and functions as it should. Re-enable HDR after in-game and there is nothing but total blackness, a scrambled whitewashed looking HUD, the overview which is functional and brackets in "space" that look like something from a bad acid trip. I recall reading something about ILR and SSAO being disabled on ATI cards. Dev posted that ILR was some sort of lens flare effect and I have no clue what SSAO is, has it anything to do with HDR? ugh

Also I just noticed in the ship fitting window the "shield boost amount" portion seems to be clipped, doesn't show the shield booster icon and the shield boost amount is occluded by the red number indicating the amount of shield booster modules present.

Thsnk you CCP,
the only one useful thing in this patch is - you return to us BRIGHT CAPACITOR !

Thank you! You have repaired it and no more idiotic lens effects on it!

You crash whole game again, but thanks for nice capacitor color.

And, I think 90% of players will remove this CQ and change it on static picture after 2 days.
So, return old hangar view for us.

And, this new guns and salvager and tractor beam...looks absolutely same, and you never know which one is salvager or gun or tractor, because they all looks like dog sh*t on the street.

http://clip2net.com/clip/m35/1308785060-clip-60kb.jpg

Especially when you try to recognize this icons near locked ship icon or wreck, guns and salvagers, tractors looks absolutely same, only tractors a little brighter.

Return old salvager and tractor beam icons, they was bright and icon show what this module do, and not, one dog sh*t near another dog sh*t and you didn't know, which dog sh*t is salvager or gun or tractor beam.

And try to do something with this CPU, because eve now overload CPU and we doesn't have anything new for game play, only idiotic new icons and guns which overload this laggi game much more after patch and FPS fall down.
We don't need this useless things, because we need FAST game and many of us for this lags play on LOW or MED settings, because EVE doesn't use GPU correctly and everything load on CPU.

We could play only 5 days when you repaired most of new bugs in Incursion 1.6 and now we will need to sit in dock new 2 weeks till you remove new bugs, and after we will have new 5 days when we can play normally and you will create new idiotic patch with new idiotic graphics for guns or for something useless for old players, only for new noobs who will try eve and live it after 3 week, because it's unplayable now.

P.S.: And why when we undock, we need to return our view back to horizontal view from vertical?
Live it like it was before patch, everytime we need to rotate back this view to horizontal position because when we undock - we look on ship not from side - we look on it from front to up.

Captain's corner laggy on HP PC. Can no longer scroll list of items, or contents of station containers, due to lag from items loading. Had to eliminate icons by going to list only. I though CCP was "working hard to reduce game lag", yet all this fluff ADDING lag is going to kill this game!

Incarna works great on my two year old computer. Absolutely love it, no lag issues at all, fantastic coding work, CCP.

One problem I'm having is the warp effect no longer shows up when I'm warping, and I discovered that without that funnel effect, it's actually kind of hard to tell you're actually in warp.

I have a problem seeing turret icons on the screen in space, next to the targets. Small black icons against the black sky of space wasn't a very good idea... now I have to stare into the sun to see where my lasers are. Screenshots below

These are while mining, using Mining Laser II's ... I can't wait to see how badly I can't see guns and stuff in combat ...

Can this be fixed please so we can actually see what our turrets are aimed at?

3 Lasers on one Asteroid

Mining Laser Icons against dark background

Insets of the two screen shots above showing just the targeting and laser icons

This was never a problem before, it was very obvious what a laser or turret was locked on to... now I have to squint and/or spin my view around to be able to see this ... totally unacceptable.

Heh, I wish I worked for CCP. ;) I am a game developer, though I don't work in the game design industry.

Here's my specs:

Intel Core 2 Q8300 Quad Core (purchased July 2009, whole system cost $600)
6 GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium
NVIDIA GTS 450 (this is a little newer, yes, but it was a cheap graphics card by comparison to most at the time)

And my settings:

HDR is off, all textures/shaders/etc. are high, cloth/hair simulations are on, resource cache is on, low shadow quality and post processing off.

http://support.eveonline.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=124

Confirmed Eve Character Creation in Incarna 1.0 no longer runs on this system. upgrading your drivers following this thread will take care of the blue screen issue, but the Incarna 1.0 Character Creator still will not run properly.
