Where's the V-Sync option? My GPU fan is going mental at 99% load, giving me over 200 fps - completely unnecessary and irritating!

In the immortal words of my CEO "Caca". I'm not angry...nope I'm disappointed (that this is the best you can do). Instead of fixing known issues before anything else, you rush out an expansion that is an inconvenience to many of your subscribers. I have no issues running CQ even dual boxing, but then again I have all the graphics at the lowest possible settings...and I live in a wormhole lol. But when I do go to dock up in a station again...I would like the option of having the old hangar and then entering CQ (though I don't see any reason one would want too).

I have no issue w/ the concept of CQ...infact I was looking forward to it until I tried it out on sisi. The version you have on TQ has the same exact issues as it did (and still does) on sisi. Many testers took the time to report said issues and complaints but it was all for nothing. I knew better and never wasted MY time doing such a thing. Some people claim they can no longer play and others have issues playing at all.

As for the vanity stuff...can't really blame CCP for that...I'm sure some of their subscribers will buy stuff from it regardless of the loltastic prices. It doesn't help the fact while people are complaining about broken game mechanics you guys release Dev blog with names like "Give me death or give me monocles"...know what? **** your monocles (and I mean that from the bottom of my heart). Only Dev that seems to actually listen around here is CCP Tallest <3...give that man a raise!

I wont say you have failed CCP, but u certainly haven't succeeded...but the fact that your efforts have inspired (using this term loosely) a lazy loser like me to spend time writing up feedback speaks volumes.

Sad
Another dissappointed customer..

I was expecting a nice present to arrive but opened the door to find a turd in a flaming paperbag on the doorstep.

This expansion looks looks like it could result in a player base reduction.

Concept fine delivery shabby at best.

Feedback so far...

I want to be able to be able to turn CQ off and not spend my time staring a a wall like a naughty school kid in stood in the corner.
I want to see my ship and have the left click menu back to do simple things like open my cargo hold.

I want to be able to run both my accounts at the same time without lag or crashing, something all previous expansions managed fine.

Sort out the random jamming message that keeps displaying when i'm in space.

Black turret icons against black space really doesn't work! I suppose we will get used to the new icons sometime but the salvager and tractor beams are not good together on the hud.

Let me rotate my ship when in CQ.
Add a left click menu on character to select things like; go to sofa.. Go to bed..

Bring back the drag and drop feature to change active ship.

And finally if i wanted to pimp my toon i'd play Sims! If you want me to pimp something let me pimp my ride with corp logos, in game brand stickers and custom paint jobs etc as i spend my time in space i don't give cr*p what my toon is wearing but a red and black custom paint job on my maelstrom would be cool.

I hope CCP roll back this expansion and spend a bit more time developing incarna before re-releasing it.

Two days ago I could play EVE just fine, dual box fleet with myself, run round with medium settings and everything was smooth. I could happily fly my internet spaceshipz, dock in and out of stations quickly to deal with admin. Today, after patching... it's... borderline.

I didn't just go out and buy a brand new, just-released hot title, nor do I have any desire for cutting edge OMG-it-looks-real movie quality graphics in my games. I just logged on to play the same game I had been playing and enjoying for a year. And got 17 fps. With everything off and/or turned down, and a door for a view.

And all I get is "trololol ur comp is teh suck, buy new gfx card". Um... NO. Three years ago I paid out a bucket of cash for what was at the time a top of the range gaming laptop and the specs still easily exceed Incarna's minimum requirements, and most of the recommended reqs. It handles first person shooters, MMO's, exceedingly detailed strategy games. And yet I'm sat in station getting lag when I type in an in-game channel, from a patch that has done zero so far to enhance my gaming experience.

"If you want to play EVE, you need a new PC every year". What kind of idiotic message is that?

you made a game about flying spaceships - and expanding yourself to fly better/faster/harder - why not expand on this ?!?

there are so many mmo's out there that allow me to 'walk' somewhere and i hate the lot of them and its why i chose EVE

then you go and wreck it with this

note to you all - most people do not like it including me - change it back asap or allow us to get rid of it PLEASE

Incarna = Rubbish.

Walking in Stations: Did Not Want, EVE is s Spaceship game and Capsuleers are supposed to be demigods, not students living in dingy bedsits.

Vanity Items: Did Not Want, Thin end of MT wedge.

That Incarna did not address long term Game Balance and Ship Balance issues speaks volumes for CCP's attitude to EVE, and for anyone who is even remotely in doubt its now blindingly obvious; EVE is CCP's cash cow that will fund Dust 514 and World of Darkness.

My Setup:

OS: Win XP Home SP3 (32Bit Version)
Motherboard Asus M3N-HT Deluxe/HDMI
CPU: Phenom II X4 965 BE (4x3,4 GHz)
4GB-DDR II Ram installed (3GB usable because of the limitations of the 32Bit OS)
GeForce 9800 GTX+

And i drop below 25 FPS with medium settings in stations with 1 client running. This is ridiculous.

Revelations dont show all the guns fitted for yourself. On the other side, i can run up to 3 clients with up to 60 FPS (V-Sync is on) as long as no client is docked.

And the graphics in station look awfull tbh. Other games look better and need MUCH less resources to run them. I invested a lot of time and effort to get my female char to look good. But if i look at her in the CQ, i get eye cancer. Doesnt look at all like in the creator.

In general, i think CCP clearly shows with this patch, that they prefer to have a few shiny bits that they can show of, while they dont care about all the waste that is left over from the past.

I play since mid 2007 and since then CCP found almost every time they changed the game new ways to disapoint me. Stop delivering half baken stuff that looks good in the press release but sucks once u actually see it live.

EDIT: Ironically, if i go to max settings, i get better FPS with a single client in CQ.

Thanks lol - but I'm using Catalyst. I found v-sync in the end, it's called "Present Interval" in the graphics options. Still ended up turning off Incarna to shut the GPU fan up.

My primary issues with Incarna:

  • The complete lack of playable content.

  • Nothing of substance was added the player-driven economy.

While no expansion is going to directly add something to the game that everyone will enjoy or experience, every true expansion should add some substantive gameplay element and expand the player-driven marketplace/economy in a significant way, as these elements comprise the heart and soul of EVE. One might point to NEX store item trades between players as a contribution to the player-driven economy, but it's really not because players do not have a hand in producing NEX store items, and at best we can only function as mostly useless middleman for a limp niche market.

Secondary issues:

  • Removal of the traditional hangar view.

  • Poor performance of CQ -- I worry that tying CQ in with the NPE will drive off many new players with modest PCs that could otherwise play EVE without issue.

  • No functionality supporting interaction between avatars.

  • Noble Exchange goods overpriced by roughly a factor of 10.

  • Various immersion-breaking qualities of CQ and NEX.

What I like about Incarna is that it does add a new dimension to the game and am told that it's laying the groundwork for grander things -- bringing EVE into the realm of a full sci-fi simulation experience. While there are several details of CQ that could stand improvement, I think I would be fairly satisfied with them if Incarna did not have the previously mentioned shortcomings.

I also have a couple concerns about EVE's supposed move beyond the realm of spaceship flight.

The first is that I have very little confidence in CCP's ability to roll out additional functionality in a reasonable time frame. CCP has introduced many new "frameworks" over the years, and has shown a marked lack of commitment to iterating/expanding them in a timely fashion: Factional Warfare, Tech 3, Planetary Interaction, Incursions, PGS textures. It seems the next few months are going to be committed to bringing Incarna near to what I would call a "release grade expansion" (adding the missing racial CQs, expanding the NEX store so it has a reasonable selection, the inevitable tweaks and fixes) -- the time frame for these relatively modest iterations lead me to believe that we won't be using our avatars for things like combat or exploration for years -- probably 3+ years. And by that time, the Incarna framework will have lost its shine and there's a non-negligible chance that the devs will decide it needs to be reworked or that it just isn't worth further developing.

Conclusion: The Incarna "framework" is nothing to get excited about, and the only prudent way to judge the expansion is on what we have now and what's been announced for the near-to-mid term. And that, I'm sorry to say, is not very impressive at all.

The other concern I have about the future that Incarna enables is the potentially fiction-breaking implications they have. Capsuleers are supposed to be fabulously wealthy because we have the rare genetic, physical and mental characteristics that allow us to utilize capsule technology relatively safely. We're called gods, immortals, rock stars because of what the pod lets us do.

But for us to really want to get out of our pods (as players), there has to be a lot ISK in it, and it has to be something we couldn't do in our pods -- but it also has to be something that we, as capsuleers, are uniquely able to do, or else any schmoe could do it and be as rich as a pod pilot. Either a radical progression/retcon of the storyline will be called for to knock us down several pegs, or the fiction will be rendered nonsensical. Or capsuleers will be like DUST soldiers. But these concerns are moot because as I said before, all of the super long term stuff is as good as vaporware as far as I'm concerned.

1) Allow me to drag and drop my ships again.

2) I want my old station interface back.
a) I want to be able to spin ships.
b) I want to be able to look at my ships without having to load your resource hog excuse for an upgrade.
c) I'm sick of this new crap station background I get because I turned off your 'amazing' new WIS upgrade. i.e. All my eve clients while docked get to stare at an ugly brown door and nothing else.
d) i want to be able to see the bloody ship I have active without having to pull up the ship screen...or if you won't give me this option, at least make that white box around the active ship stand out more.

3) I'm never intended to buy your micro-transaction clothing, but really? Those are your prices? I guess you can be thankful that people are stupid and will buy that just so they can e-stroke.

4) I'd love to see the statics for how many players have disabled your frankly terrible new interface.

Thank you CCP for Incarna. I wasnt keen on it much at first but overall I think you guys did a great job and it adds so much dimension to the game.

I think the only thing I dont like is the mining laser sound. I liked the old mining laser graphic and like the new one also, but I dont like the sound of the new mining lasers. It isnt consistent (sounds happen periodically and at random times, not just when activated) and is a bit weak. It sounds like a mining laser I. The constant pulsating sound of the previous lasers in incursion kept me somewhat awake and aware of what is going on.

OK CCP ENOUGH OF THIS!

That brown 2d airlock is insulting. Give us our old hanger back.

Are we being punished for not using CQ? "You don't want it? Then go to the naughty corner, and stay there until you're sorry."

Dock in Hanger > Enter CQ > enter ship OR undock -- Problem solved. And much more immersive.

Thank you

CQ is lame for all this work that went into it , its like as if eve was a game where u walked around in stations and on planets all the time and you decided to add ships to the game so you could fly thru space, well you can fly the ship around in the hanger for a few months to get used to things , basically what this feels like, you fly a ship for years and finally get incarna only to walk around in a closet for a few months or maybe even a year at the rate this is going.

Docking sucks now load time sux for docking
No more ship spinning sux
When you dock should be old view of ship in hanger , with option to enter captains quarters.
jeez everytime you dock i wouldnt think youd fly out in your pod to your CQ just to offload some ore.
kinda like going thru the drivethru at mcdonalds then getting out of your car and walking around the building to go inside and get your order then walk back around to your car in the drivethru.

As I explained earlier, it was pretty clear -- to me, at least -- that CCP would never allow two concurrent 'live' variations of the same station hangar to exist. The static image is just a stopgap measure, to linger on for a while longer, until people have upgraded their hardware. Consider it a grace-period, for it will be removed eventually. They've said so repeatedly.

And don't get me wrong: I even liked the old spinning hangar. :) Having both that and CQ at the same time, though, that's just silly, immersion wise: you simply can't have 2 completely different rooms exist in the same space.

N.B. Perhaps a redesign of the spinning hangar would have been an option; you know, from the perspective of behind-and-slightly-above the ship, as it were, so that it's still the same Incarna space/design, but from a simplified angle (sans the actual CQ, which you would just be able to look at from afar). They didn't choose for that, though.

What?

You don't make any sence. There is absolutely no problem with having CQ and HANGER, as there will be no problem when we add different spaces in the stations.

Some times you'll want to just dock, sometimes rest in CQ and other times go into other station facilities.

I'm sorry but you're "2 enviorments in the same place" argument makes no sense. This is going to become a full sci-fi universe we want many concurent, live, persistant enviorments.

People are reporting all kinds of bonuses and skills not being applied to various attributes.

I've seen people reporting drones being weaker, probes being weaker (possibly obfuscated with scanning changes) and others areas such as damage bonuses not adding up.

Personally, I found it a little strange that my near max spec slicer with +5 damage implants (just pulse spec V missing) couldn't break the tank on a 900k guristas battleship npc Embarassed. The agility seemed way off too.

Ive noticed same problem, cant break the tank on a 270k angel BC, wth? (my problem is with drones though, flyin ga dommy) B4 patch i popped em in seconds....

Dear CCP,

I feel realy sorry for what I'm about to say.

I am thinking of cancelling my account. New gun's model? They looks like ****. I did not think Hybrid gun could be uglier that they were already. You proove me wrong. They are ****ing UGLY! I start looking other models. I realize that they are ALL SCREWED UP! What have you done??? What have you done to your game??? I cand stand it anymore. My Deimos looks like a ******ed fish and even my Hurricane have lost his killer's look.

If only I would be able to let my turrets docked...

BUT NO! Now they dock only when I warp! So what I'll do? Start warping around like a ****ing moron cause I'm ****ing ****ed about ****ing ******ed models? I'm sorry to looks angry, but CCP, I can't imagine you have done this.

But that's not all. What is this GODDAMN Noble Store?! You really think I'll spend 60$ for a ****ing monocle? After being already disapointed about ****ing ******ed gun's model, now I have a reason to be disapointed about YOU! After taking out the pleasure that I had about the look of your game, now you want to also take my money?

But there is more. What about all other issue? Hybrid gun imbalance, Supercapital imbalance, RMT, Botting? Are you all gone crazy? You think I want to spend 60$ for a ****ing monocle when there is people out there that make maybe HUNDRED OF THOUSAND $ just selling their ****ing moon's goo? I'm realy realy realy disgusted by what you have done (by that I mean: nothing).

I were speaking about canceling my subscribtion... hell, **** you... Iv got a 1 year sub...

Frankly this is probably the worst expansion I've seen from CCP in the last 4 years (I've only been paying that long so I dont know if there were worse ones before), but theres absolutely nothing worthwhile in a gameplay element for the expansion, almost nothing as far as rebalancing, and worst of all going from a FUNCTIONAL station interface, to an annoying, slow, and frankly more boring station interface with this silly captains quarters.

Now if we'd been given an option when we dock up to go to our quarters and chill out in there that would be fine, but forcing the playerbase whom as far as I know had little or no complaints about the current station hangar, to a monstrosity that is geting thousands of complaints, then I think even the great minds of CCP should be able to see that something is wrong.

Anways rant over, the turrets look nice.

Immersion wise, it's silly that we're forced to get out of the pod whenever we dock, and that we do so in full view of the rest of the station. These are far more immersion-breaking aspects of CQ than having the hangar view present a somewhat different looking environment than the CQ view.

This concern is easily addressed in any event. You click a "Enter CQ" button and a progress indicator briefly appears while the environment loads:

"Entering CQ-access hangar ..."

You click the "Enter Pod/Ship" button:

"Entering station entrance hangar ..."

As for myself, my GTX 580 runs at a cool 42C, with everything maxed out at 1920x1200; and my i7 980X hovers around 10-15% CPU load. So all is well. I *love* the new shiny CQ look, and I'd don't like to see it nerfed again, pretty please.

Are you at 42C while in CQ? My I7-950 is pretty cool, but my GTX 580 is at about 70C while in CQ. Although, the model I bought is no longer available and has been replaced with a better cooling model...

Mine is an ASUS GeForce GTX 580 Direct CU II. It's got a way improved cooling system with 2x fans, instead of just 1. It's even overclocked a bit by default, but still runs cooler than a reference card. And, best of all, it's extremely silent. :)

Did another, longer check. Depending on where I'm standing in CQ, and what I do, temps are between 42C-53C. Still nothing at all to get even remotely worried about.

P.S. I have locked at 60 FPS, btw, as my LCD monitor doesnt have a higher refresh rate anyway.

I thought you had the DUCII when I saw your temps compared to mine. May go with the new ROG GTX 580. Has the same cooling as DCUII.

Captain's Quarters are cool, I was hoping for a bit more, but it's a good first step. I like the idea and design, really looking forward to new expansions and features. My expectations were high because of how good the character creator is, but unlike it, the captains quarters aren't technically that impressive. Though that might be to keep system requirements low. Speaking of that, it runs good, with everything at max I get around 60 FPS with a single client, 30 FPS with two. For people having performance issues with multiple clients - try minimizing those clients, that you don't use (don't leave them in the background), then they don't use CPU and/or GPU that much.

Balcony was very impressive first time I saw it. I don't like how the scale of ships is lost, a frigate looks just as big as a battleship.

Main screen looks good, but isn't as useful as it could be. I would like to read Interstellar Correspondents news on it (currently just headlines scroll around(?)), or stats about current and neighboring systems (jump counts, pilots in space, NPC/PC kill counts, etc.).

Maller looks really awesome, good job.

New turret system is very nice, I really hope there will be further updates for launchers and other modules.

Noble Exchange items are quite expensive, as I'm sure you're aware..

Agent finder will be useful, no more shuffling through countless corporations and agents.

Jamming NPC fix is appreciated, they were annoying at times.

Only problem I have is some graphical artifacts around UI sometimes..
