So yeah, I'm going to train up an alt to 'farm' Incursions. Now I've heard that Amarr is the best for the job, and I like the lasers so it's Amarr. Though I need some help with what I need.

I was thinking of going for a T1 fitted Prophecy which can reach near 70k EHP, which should be enough for a proper fleet that runs the Incursions. After that I'm aiming for a T2 fitted Prophecy. However I'm not sure what to get after it. Should I get a T2 fitted Sacrilege, Damnation/Absolution or an Abaddon? What's the best way to go to run the Incursions with minimal to no losses?ugh

i currently run a passive shield tanked harbinger on incursions, shield tanked due to corps preference of shields. i know people say to get a nightmare but i only have 1.4bill isk atm, so cant risk loosing 1bill on a ship. however if you are in a armor tanking /remote repping fleet a absolution/damnation will do well as they have exstream tanks when it comes to resists. absolution id say is best as damnations DPS sucks and absolution has bonus to lasers. but you have to think of what your budget is. if loosing an absolution will seriously affect ur wallet then go with the abaddon, you should be fine, incursions mostly rely on damage from DPS ships and then again mainly on the people doing the repping. if they arnt fast ennough with getting those reps on you then say goodbye. if your wallet is tight then go with atleast a t2 fitted prophercy. and then an abaddon. hope this has helped.

If you want to get into incursions fast, you need to train up a logi. If you take a brand new character, it will take you approximately 2 months to get a logi 4 logi pilot. And to get your foot in the door on a good group of people to make the 60-100mil isk/hour that you are looking for, and not sitting around for hours waiting for a gang and even then only getting into a 30mil/hour gang, a good logi pilot is in MUCH higher demand than a poor skilled dps pilot.

Now, if you are bound and determined that you want to get into a dps ship, you don't want to touch the prophecy. The big thing about dps ships is that you need, surprise surprise, dps. Which means you need ships with damage bonuses. The best initial ship for this is the hurricane, due to it being able to be shield tanked or armor tanked, and having the highest dps of any of the battlecruiser hulls. The harbinger can also work ok, again, both shield or armor. Then in the long run, if you are wanting to go with armor you want either the legion or the abaddon->paladin/bhaalghorn. If you want to go with shield, you want to go harbinger-> nightmare/bhaal or if you decide to go with autocannons then hurricane->loki/slepnir or hurricane->maelstrom->mach. Note, both the mach and the loki can be armor tanked as well.

Lastly, as far as the minimal to no losses, the only way to manage that is to be able to get into good fleets, which you are only really going to manage if you network well and fly either a good logi or a good dps.

If you REALLY want to use an amarr combat ship, I would definitely go for the Abaddon or Absolution

This, pretty much. And you're still not gonna get in a great fleet with T1 battlecruisers, Faction battleships and T3's is where it's at. So yeah the easiest way is to get into Logistics fast.

Apart from logistics, I think Absolution is best for Vanguard fleets. Ive done several sites with it and it works amazingly well, already at lvl 4. It surpasses even T3 because of its higher DPS at the ranges you need it (frigs orbit at 10-12 km in conflag range) and cruisers at 20-25 in scorch range. Also, extremely nice resists and buffer (around 100 k EHP) and not too expensive.

Love the ship
