HYDRA RELOADED Wins Alliance Tournament IX
by ISD Magnus Balteus

HYDRA RELOADED has won Alliance Tournament IX.

An early loss to DarkSide. knocked Pandemic Legion out of the tournament in only the second match of the day. This loss opened the door to the championship and Outbreak. worked their way through to the Final where they faced HYDRA RELOADED who had effortlessly worked their way through as well.

The resultant fight was aggressive and brutal with Outbreak. taking an early lead. HYDRA caught up though as Outbreak. was concentrating on the HYDRA logistics ship. By match end, only a HYDRA Vindicator was left alone among the wreckage of 19 other ships.

All was not as it seemed though...

After the match, it was revealed that the Outbreak. team was actually an additional tournament entry of HYDRA RELOADED. As Duncan Tanner explains, “If people are wondering what the true final was, it was Darkside. versus Outbreak, that was the true final.” He refers to the last fight before the Final in which DarkSide. was defeated by Outbreak. This was confirmed by Zarathustra of Outbreak. who stated that "Everyone should realize this was one team that won first and second."

Tournament prizes include 50 copies of an Amarr-hulled heavy assault ship called the Vangel and 120 billion ISK awarded to HYDRA RELOADED, and 50 copies of an Amarr-hulled assault ship called the Malice plus 50 billion ISK to Outbreak..

If what HYDRA and Outbreak. participants say is accurate about being one and the same team, this means that HYDRA RELOADED may now have as many as 150 ultra-rare ships (including last year's 2nd prize Utu assault ship blueprints) and close to 200 billion ISK in their war chest.

Match reports and statistics are available on the Interstellar Correspondents' website.

Wanna buy a Vangel.

How many Utus have died so far anyhow? I remember that one that went pop in the first week after the prizes were distributed but must have msised any that died since then.

I love how this ISD makes no mention of it quickly turning into a total and utter sham. Way to try and rewrite extremely history - LOL! Only I was there a mere two days ago, and funnily enough I haven't forgotten.

I too thank Hydra Reloaded for the entertaining finale. I had no idea a lone Vindicator could perform such a feat.
BECAUSE OF NO FALCON I presume.

Truths never been the strong point of ISD.

Sad, I wish they'd report it as it really was, I suppose that would hurt their marketing efforts....

Guess they can delete the apology and perspective threads.

Don't need damage control any more right?

Wait, why were they in damage control?

Probably spent more than that on ammo. Every time a Sleipnir fired, the ISK equivalent of a Hurricane left the guns.

LOL

Lets re-write that ...

It was brutal and aggressive as the Outbreak fleet tore into 3 Vindicators with apparently no tank and destroyed the majority of the HYDRA team in under 3 minutes. There was immense shock at the sudden destruction of the Hydra team flawlessly by Outbreak. By the time that there was only 1 Vindicator, an Oneiros and a Keres left on the field firing suddenly ceased. There was mass confusion from the audience and the commentators - as they were trying to figure as to why the last Vindicator didn't crumble after being already in 50% armor. With the whole Outbreak. Team surviving on the field random ships suddenly started to get targeted and destroyed by the only damage dealing HYDRA ship on the field, the Vindicator. As it turned out, Outbreak. had entered into kill range of the Vindicator with weapons off and allowed themselves to be destroyed one by one to throw the fight to Hydra. The HYDRA Keres self-destructed and the Hydra Oneiros attempted to repair one of the last remaining Outbreak. Sleipnirs as the Vindicator tore through its armor to clear the field single-handedly of all Outbreak. ships. Leaving an audience in shock and for the most part in disgust.

Lol, get over yourselves.

Your leaders admit they ****ed that up. That's what they wrote into history. And it looks like you missed the modern era of twitter and user-generated news.

Here, maybe you missed these.

I did have big achievement today but it feels like it was all taken away by what happened in the finals, I've disappointed kil2 and I've dissapointed my friends, every one that watched the finals including all of you

Please forgive me

I see a lot of tears there.

Quote:
Yes it was staged but we wanted to put on a good show. We couldFve more easily had 0utbreak fly something Caldari or Minmatar that would be countered by another Caldari or Minmatar setup and in hindsight maybe we shouldFve just done something safe like that. We wanted to bring out something cool for the final and we screwed it up instead. We donFt really feel great about it.

And some restrained tears here.

Quote:
Unfortunately 0utbreak chickened out and called their alliance something boring and Darkside beat PL.

Aww, and it looks like there's some internal issues with the naming. No honor among children.

Not impressed at the false bravado.

The Final was exciting as everyone hoped it would be. Outbreak. looked to be in a great position when the match opened and they downed HYDRA's three Sabres, two Vindicators and two Kereses in short order. Outbreak. began concentrating on the HYDRA Oneiros logistics ship. While their attention was on this tough nugget, HYDRA began to roll through Outbreak. targets until the match concluded with only one ship left of the 20 that started the match; a HYDRA Vindicator.
