There is one, it's called a freighter! It just doesn't come with shoe trees. You'll need Aurum for that! Wink

There should be a new women ship that epitomizes everything they're doing with CQ that can house all the stuff that gets paid for with Aurum. It needs it's own ship category... so that I can sort my overview for it and prepare to gank the first one I see undocking in Dodixie.

you will shoot at my new shoes Sad

Maybe some more of these?

At a guess, I would imagine that they don't make this info public because the patch may not be final (i.e. you might brick your installation and need to re-download the full client if they pull it change it at the very last moment). This has never happened. Yet.
Note also, that they probably don't want their bandwidth hammered by downloaders before they are ready, just in case they end up having to fix problems on the game servers, and the web servers at the same time.
As a professional software dev myself (in RL), I can fully sympathise with CCP. Things get done in the amount of time it takes to do them, regardless of deadlines. Sometimes you get lucky, and hit one...

As a professional software dev you really think they are going to fix and recompile a patch for two platforms at the last moment and send those out the door without testing? Really? (Although that thought did cross my mind, before i thought, 'Really?!?') It would seem to me that having the patch available for download before the server goes live could deaden the bandwidth spike on the system at launch to some degree. I can see that they would be afraid of folks screwing up their installs though by not knowing what they are doing and then just downloading the full client, which would be more bandwidth used than necessary... but then it would be nice if the client could do the auto patch while the server was offline too.

A wolf can't do as much damage as a significantly bigger ship, can it? many cruisers move fast enough that a domi either has to spend slots to decrease lock time, or can't neut for a pretty reasonable amount of time... I'm not really seeing what is unbalanced here... (?) not to mention you could take out the logi...

I'm sure they have their reasons for not officially releasing the patch until they are ready. They might want to do a rollback at the last minute if they have a server foul up, for instance, at which point anyone who had applied the patch would be stuck with the incorrect version. These things do, unfortunately, occasionally happen no matter how well you plan things.

Anyhoo, the server has just rebooted by the looks of it, shouldn't be long now..

page 6 in this forum has the link to download the new patch. Takes about 40 min to download it. For those that are wanting to download it before the server comes back up in about 3 hours unless they extend the downtime again. 3rd time they changed it today so probably going to be about 5 hours before it come back up. Glad i put on a long skill to train lol

That, is the best reason I've heard for it. Surprised I didn't come up with it myself... ;) (But I always backup the install/prefs before patching so it wouldn't kill me if that happened.)

Oh well, little more than 30 mins out. *fingers crossed*
