Compared to ASCN vs. BOB final, that was a good match. Though that tells more about how boring was it to watch two teams to stand off for 15 minutes or so. (That tournament was resolved with an interceptor duel.)

Personally, would've gone in in T1 cruisers (or something rarely seen such as all Moa or Thorax hulls) or something and had a brawl. Perhaps Hydrabreak tried to make a show, but making shows is difficult.

Finals like this just show low-level of everything that CCP does. As already said these teams should be banned. That game was just like lying on the grass on the final match of football world championship.

People trust in you. People bet on you. And you just f*ck up as always. That`s not how business works.

You`ve (CCP) also ruined my plans about working with you on a new projects. GL, hope you`ll do something to fix that situation. 0/

So basically you want them banned for not lying to you in the final? Makes sense.

Perhaps they should broadcast the earlier matches and leave the finals for eve radio or something, that way the "meta-gamers" can have their fun and we don't have to watch rigged matches.

You didn't have to watch them if you didn't want to, it's not like you were paying for the pleasure of seeing them anyways.

Granted I did not pay specifically to see those matches. But if I go to see a match that is rigged from the start, even a free one (and I don't know it in advance) I would feel like I wasted time and effort (not to mention bandwith) watching it.

It's not a big deal, but nobody likes to watch a throwed fight cause its not interesting to watch.

"and to those who are bitter that one alliance managed to take first and second, next time, maybe you'll try harder!"

I'm still amazed to see that the tear-lickers have no clue. No one is bitter. There are two views of what it means to be human colliding here. There are two views of conduct colliding here. Causing "bitterness" is just a figment of your paranoid world outlook.

Us adults are just feeling sorry that taking the low road of deception is denying all tournament players and fans the experience and feelings that are the reward of an honorable pilot; and above average intelligent people who even understand what honor is and why it is important to being a man or woman in everything we do...even games.

Anyone can be a low-life liar and manipulator. You think that is talent? I guess it is giggles for the incompetent and immature. But if you think you are really griefing, you are delusional. We are just turned off for a minute, hardly a blip on the screen. You worked so hard to pull this off. You should still feel some embarassemt. I'm not bitter, I'm embarrassed for EVE. Our community is a tad disfunctional but do we have to televise that part?

Rock on. Thank God we are starting Incarna tomorrow, and CCP put some stuff on sale, guess I'll go shopping. Razz

Agree, was rubbish. Outbreak should have finished it off.

Compared to ASCN vs. BOB final, that was a good match.

this reminds me that the champion BOB had THE FIVE literally as their team of alts in AT2 and AT3 and nobody rally cared, yet now a close-knit group splits into two (instead of this being just alts) and suddenly tears.

Bring back BoB. The fact that most of EvE hated them made the final interesting.

Oh ya and they were really good....

long story short.
1. Hydra and Outbreak make final
2. Hydra and Outbreak are very good friends. Outbreak are considered Hydra B team.
3. Final starts and Outbreak start kicking Hydras ass in the first 3 mins and are considered sure winners.
4. Outbreak stop kicking Hydras ass and let them win.
5. Some consider this a victory for meta gamming, others think this is Bullsh*t.

Hydra and Outbreak were working together to get to the end of the tournament and win. They orchestrated spying, back-hand deals, sneaky ear-whispering and twisted some matches until they hit the final, then they tried to give everyone an epic fight and kinda screwed it up a bit and made it really boring to watch, and everyone's crying about it. That's basically the whole thing really ugh

Some of you need to look up the definition of "metagaming".

I just want to congratulate Laedey to an amazing end to an amazing tournament! Great work!

(and thank you for this beautiful, beautiful thread full of sorrow~)

your joking right? CSM? yeah right

Someone is mad because he got out metaed?

Tbh, in which tourney was the final ever a good match?
Those saying this was the worst AT ever must not have seen any of the other ATs.
True, my first AT viewed was AT 2, so I have not seen all of them, but I think this was the best one yet. Perhaps the IMPOC-kill makes that AT uniq but when it comes to matches this one was best. Also when it comes to the coverage, the lack of real fxxk ups and all the stuff around it. Not one single canceled match because someone ragequited, not so much goon math (108 points, right) at least not if someone gives AAA a calculator ;)

To all that wants alliances banned and/or disbanded:
You can make sure this does not happen again, start to get a team together and stop the nasty metagamers from reaching the final next time! It's not hard, or at least you seem to think it's not.

All the parallells to Fotball/Soccer and such: Where are your Sun Tzu quotes?
One guy saying it would be like if the players all were lying down in the grass. Well tbh they do that a lot! They throw themselves on the grass seamingly in agony and when they do not get a free kick they get up real quick and are fully functional again.
Getting a ball on your foot and grabbing your face in pain to get someone sent off, that's no meta gaming?

The differences is that in footy, metagaming is not legal, here it is. Try to come up with better analogies please, put some effort in it please.

We had some really great matches in the finals, just a shame the grand finale was a soft, smelly stool.

Never mind… one less thing to waste your time on next year. I think the You Tube suggestion is the way to go with this one. Eve is still the same game, just without a credible AT. No big deal

Respect to the presenters and commentators. Not something I could do and you guys did a real professional job.

...and they were all this year.

This was easily the best alliance tournament ever, its left its infancy, until this AT PL was the only team playing the tourney professionally. Now there are so many teams that are playing all aspects of the AT to a top-notch level. Hydra doing spectacularly this year.

Now go back to your level 4 missions and remain quietly ignorant of this game.

Do you mean from all the alliance tournaments? Because if you do , man you are so wrong .

The finals were awesome for the same reason the duel between Darth Vader and Obi Wan Kenobi in Episode IV was more awesome than that ridiculous duel at the end of Episode III.

If you want just another empty, meaningless, battle, there's plenty of those throughout the tournament, go watch them.

If you're complaining that the finals was 'boring', see the first paragraph above. Context and meaning defines the EVE sandbox.

Silly monkeys. Go somewhere else to cry.
Yes this tournament was rigged. As was every single one before it.
Yes the latest nerfs were designed to preserve power in the hands that already have it and to diminish those who do not. As was every single one before it.
If you don't like getting bent over and made to squeal, then quit. You really have not other choice. It's easy, I promise you.
If on the other hand, you do like it, then stick around! There's a hell of a lot more where that came from!
