I was wondering if anyone else was suffering from frequent disconnections/freezes using mac client. I've resubbed after a few months break and it seems to me like the mac client is back to where it was when I started playing in 2008 (apart from the fps/graphics being more sluggish than they were then).

Personally - I have no issues with disconnects and I'm playing wireless on a standard Macbook.

However, I did have a real problem a couple of months back when I upgraded the firmware on my router (draytek). Every few minutes my session with Eve dropped. I reverted the code to the old version and hey presto - I'm back in the game. The router is a PITA but the client is fine.

Have you changed router firmware or hardware since you last played? Not meaning to be patronising - just on the off chance.

Tried using 3G connection for a while, and its fine. So must be landline connection (which happens to come through a Draytek router). It appears I was being hasty blaming the client. Apologies to ccp...

Well if it helps - I'm running a 2710 and any of the latest versions of code killed it for me. I had to go back to (Feb 2010) to get stability. I think the DoS defence settings can also crap all over the connection and are best disabled.
