For those who haven't see what the actual Captain's Quarter.

I am guessing that's the gallentian CQ. I thought all there was, were minmatarrian cqs out atm. Im curious to see the Caldari, and the interesting corporate apparell they have.

Cool shirt btw. Look like your some dude out of a world war 2 movie.

It's a gallente Station, but its not the Gallente CQ. Its the Minmatar CQ that has been placed inside the Gallente Stations/all stations till CCP pulls its thumb out of its *** an puts in the rest of them. Sorry CCP, but you really managed to **** me off with this lovely blind side of missing content for this Patch.

DO NOT PUT IT IN TILL ALL OF THE CQ's are FINISHED, we all know how good your track record at getting updates for existing features are. You can't blame me for being skeptical of your commitment.

This is exactly what I've been saying, if they're going for immersion, why would a pilot in combat docking to resupply on cap boosters in the middle of a fight disembark his pod, shuttle down to his quarters, open and drain the pod, towel off, get a change of clothes, just to hop back in the pod, re-fill, go reboard the ship and undock for something that took seconds before?

CQs will add a degree of play and politics players haven't experienced. I for one understand the fact that the idea here is to lay the foundation and then build upon it. Ok, all we're getting right now is CQs and new turrets. Whereas when the 2nd stage of the patch comes out we're getting a booster revamp, public access to other players while in station a first for Eve online. In no time at all players will understand. CCP, Keep up the good work. don't let the "omg nothing good is happening" whiners get to you, they haven't done their research and CLEARLY haven't taken the time to look at the big picture.

I for one have no problem with the slow and steady release of Incarna, Building good solid foundations, and building on them is a good idea so old there is a parable about it....

These are not good foundations...

Now if they were keeping the old hanger view and letting us access Incarna from inside the hanger.... Then (barring the pod on a ladder issue) I wouldn't be too troubled by this launch, and would be looking forward to CCP iterating on Incarna and making it something really good....

However as they are replacing the hanger with CQ (for no good reason, all arguments to the contrary Killed dead until CCP can pull some magic argument out of their posterior, and then that gets shot down) they are laying down weak and crappy foundations, that they will eventually have to change to stop the whole thing breaking, but probably already after having built stuff on top.

CCP know this.... which is why they have been cowering in their bunkers refusing to even acknowledge our feedback let alone answer it...

this could cause serious issues and effect fleet combat in low and null sec if they have to "Dock_walk to couch_mess with ship_un-dock"
as most combat operations are about split seconds this could cause serious frustration. I would recommend make every one dock as normal then a right click option to allow them to leave ship. This would provide a few things.
1: stations in high traffic systems will not be bogged down as much
2: combat pilots will be able to dock change ships un dock as before.
3: docking and logging off will be much simpler and not cause a instance transfer of a character who is about to log off.

Seems like it would make more sense to me.

ccp please advise/.

I suggest that if people are going to complain or suggest things that they actually try it out on SiSi first. Your regular station UI is still there. So you can do everything at the same speed you used to ie:(switching ships, fitting, moving items). When you dock, just do everything you want without moving. You fit/change ship at any location in the room. As for the people complaining about ship spinning, well it spins automatically for you and at a very cool angle/perspective. Just food for thought.

However my exceeds/matches recommended specs machine which runs the hanger at 60fps (its locked to max at screen refresh rate) and 30% cpu load, runs CQ at 20 fps, 80~90% cpu load, and my gpu overheats.... which doesn't happen even in total lag fest fleet battles.... for one person NOT MOVING in station.

There is a loss of drag and drop functionality in CQ.

There is a Loss of Immersion in CQ.

There is a Loss of performance in CQ.

And because CQ has to have the old UI and all the features of Space in it, it suffers from being tied to the in space UI and in hanger functionality, hamstringing its potential...

Plus CCP promised it wouldn't be like this.

Yes I agree with you and the whole optionality idea. I saw the video from 2008. My comment was more directed at people saying you have to walk to certain places to do ceretain things and that it takes longer to do what you used to do fast. I like suggestions but not complaints about things that dont exist therefore spreading false information.

CCP youve done your best to make the experience of being in a ship to "Immerse" one's self in such a massive space game that it remains the biggest part of playing Eve since inception. So today the old concepts turn to new horizons and you feel players should now be given the opportunity to control the other hidden parts of the Eve universe as walking animated avatar pilots. Youve devblogged on about CQ just being a start and how will have multiple test and phase roll outs coming before Incarna is complete. Given the issues that exist now I think its only natural to allow us decide when we want jump in. Perhaps permanently too.

Specifically, if you are adding a temporary "dont load CQ" option, thats a step in the right direction and one that I know a lot of players have been asking for. That tells me you at least agree certain problems will persist and affect game play. Addressing the problem, but the solution you come up with remains to be seen. I hope one of them will be to keep the ship hangar view in place. With that would suggest simply adding a simple interactive "ENTER CAPTAINS QUARTERS" button in the hangar where CQ would be in relation to the ship, something like the new orange interface buttons you already have all over the CQ right now to point the way. That way no one ever overlooks the shiny glowy sign while ship spinning and the hangar becomes a convenient "portal" to CQ and everything Incarna related, but most important of all... an instant option to enter.

The thing for me is, the busiest part of Eve play will still reside outside of CQ when it comes out for some time so why affect it? I am being hopeful when I say "yes it seems CCP making sure not to break the "immersive" features that streamline the current speed of play in space because that is top priority".

The problem with INCARNA is not INCARNA itself. I'm pretty sure that CCP is doing their most possible in order to make the game the "space simulation" they always wanted. I think the problem with INCARNA is just the problem that all new things have: People are not accustomed to it. The people were and will always be anxious about things they haven't experienced so far. If we like it or not INCARNA will be deployed and even if we now get the option to disable the feature this will be just for transition. When transition is made INCARNA and all of it's features will be fully integrated. Even be accepted by the players. It was the same with most former releases and it will be the same with this and the following ones.

Remember when I said "space simulation"? That's what CCP is aiming for. They never made a secret out of it. So to achieve this goal they have to look at every aspect of what makes a space simulation complete. Not just our beloved shiny space ships. With the trailer "future vision" CCP have shown what they're intending to do with the game. So don't be scared of all the new things that are coming up in future releases. Just let yourself get accustomed to them and get on going. Otherwise stop playing EVE.

New issue happened to me last night. My ship wouldn't stop moving. Using ctrl-spacebar or hitting the "stop ship" icon both result in a "stopping ship" message box, but the ship keeps right on moving. I can slow it down to a crawl, but not stop it.

This also happened to a corpmate of mine. For me, restarting the client fixed it.

Here are three issues from the now unstickied Issues Thread that I (and many others) am experiencing all the time as a w-space dweller.

Question to CCP: is it your intention, and hope, that Incarna will dazzle people so much that you can conveniently "forget" about these issues?

Please take some time and fix some of the stuff you (CCP) are breaking, in bringing us CarbonUI and Incarna.

Here's hoping® that ya'll actually fixed some of this stuff, and will insert into the patch notes at the last minute.....

Blaming CCP for our crappy game play motivation and lazy creativity is like stepping into quicksand. There are so many things to do in EVE and this wall of tears is not really about the game, imo. I don't like some things but I've avoided the chronic attitude. If there is one thing you can always count on in gaming it is frustration and disappointment. If I can start my computer and get into EVE, it's a good day. \o/ I bet CCP is just deaf to most of this stuff. I am. Rolling Eyes

I hate to break it to those concerned with the drop in their performance, but it might be time to update your system. To demand a game to appeal to out dated systems for so many years is unreasonable. If you're still able to afford the time and investment in EVE, then you have the time to save and update.

I appreciate a game that remains fresh with already established foundations.

Dear ccp,

I'am deeply sad to see incarna coming.
What is it coming with incarna? Everyone happy docked in station? Don't you see that its already difficult to make the people get out for some pvp? don't you see that PVP become a giant piece of crap in your game and you participate to this with every single patch you put on?

Eve Online, was so great, a jewel in the world of video games because of a huge content and the gamers community.
PVP is now so ridiculous and frustrating with all this logistic/jam/cloack/web/timers/agents/etc...

I'am so addicted to your game that i can't leave, but its become more and more painfull to pay 15euros for a mining/market simulator/coward friendly/passive/afk friendly game when i suscribeb for a pvp one.

I could like incarna only if we could shoot the other station guests within captain quarter's.

Good luck for next patch, this one useless to the deep interest of the game.

which part of meets or exceeds the recommended (not the minimum) specs for playing eve did you not understand?

Part of the trouble of course is that is it is trying to run two simultaneous UI's, which is bad design forced on them because they failed to keep the old hanger view.

My major concerns for Incarna are not performance, but still, Nothing else but CQ makes my system overheat.

Ok cool.
So next, you will spend your time to fix lot of broken gamemech, like "neutral logistic war" in empire, like "broken agro timer", like "noone undock bigger than cruiser or nano in low sec cause you can be hotdropped by 10 nyx for a BS", like "WH is the best place to hide when you don't want fight", like "railgun sucks", like "jam cycle of 20sec make the fight boring like hell when jam are in da place (5sec its large enought, big ship hard to jam = long time to lock, small ship jammed all the time can lock back fast), like "everybody in cloaky ship = no fight". And more.
CCP, come back to BASIC, a freaking PVP game, not a hello kitty online.
Wake up, you are stupid if you don't realize EVE turn to a "I touch my balls in station and i undock for the gank of the day"

^Makes no sense.

Why should I need to update to a newer system to makeup for CCP's poor programming of their bloated product that doesn't even NEED to be implemented in the manner they are implementing it? Not to mention that it just doesn't make any sense to do things as they are doing them.

The performance hit isn't gamebreaking it adds a pointless amount of 'overhead' in the form of extra burdens on my system when it isn't justified. The performance issue is but one of several reasons why the plan as CCP has laid it out is poorly designed.

I have tested CQ on Duality, didn't like it; I have tested it on SISI, still don't like it

CQ is nothing more than giving station menu a 3D perspective, nothing more

screen of the left - Corporation
the new corp search tool is good for new pilots and for those who search a new corp
did we need a screen in the room to give that option, not really ... the quick-bar is still there
do pilots change corporations every day .. no, not really

center screen - I have no idea what's that used for
sort of news thingy but mixed with market and some other uninteresting stuff .. really wth?!

right screen - PI
just a shortcut to planets in the S&I tab
do pilots need use it every day .. not, more like 3 days cycles

the only really interesting thing added is the agent finder

do pilots get to customize their CQ, no
do pilots get to show their CQ to other pilots, no

so .. CCP, whats the real purpose of CQ?

CQ enabled resource usage, single client, performance settings preset
CPU - varies between 30-50% on each of all 4 cores
mem - 720Mb

CQ disabled resource usage, single client, performance settings preset
CPU- varies between 5-20% on each of all 4 cores
mem - 651Mb

idling in space, performance settings preset
CPU - varies between 5-20% on each of all 4 cores
mem - 659Mb

guess what I'm gonna' do after CQ will be released, knowing that I use 3 clients simultaneously
uncheck the "load station environment" under graphic content settings

Does this mean I'm finally going to be forced to use the character creator? If so, I'd at least like control of the content on that left screen in CQ so I can send my corp members info. Perhaps add a news feed option to the corp bulletins so that corp/alliance news can be displayed on the screen to give it more functionality.
