Yes, but that isn't part of your CCP subs... it's a bonus..

And we all love a bonus :)

Damn ... posted too soon ... as I was going to say ... that's not what I'm saying. If ALL graphics upgrades came at a price THEN I'd be ****ed off. What I was refering to was OPTIONAL additional graphics enhancements for those who have the money and the hardware for them.

Then the players pay. By your argument, no-one should ever have to pay for a new graphics card then ...

problem is i failed and bought a small case so upgrading my gfx card is somewhat hard , i have one its ok but not listing it for the space nerds to tear me a new one for not having a great gfx card , so a cpu upgrade is probably what i will be needing...

will my mid range cpu work with eve on low to med settings or is it a must that i have to upgrade

also poker would be wicked when its released

W/O looking at your specific system, it's hard to say, but if your pc was bought in the last year or two your probably good on at least med to med-high settings, possibly even high as long as you're not using shared memory resources.

I ran a test recently and the one thing that confused me is that it seemed to have run BETTER on older hardware than it does on new. Ran tests from multiple machines.. The link below is to the lower end pc results. Hardware about 4 years old.

Test on duality, FRAPS footage - Includes docking to time it, and walking from ship platform to the inner quarters.

1920x1080 with all graphics options Max'ed out. AA+HDR enabled. Sound & Music also recorded for testing.
Specs:
Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 CPU on Vista x64 OS
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GTX260 Video card

File Link
http://dl.eve-files.com/media/corp/JCA/dualitytest.wmv

That's a pretty sweet set-up for an older piece of hardware, the GTX260 is a high-end GPU...

Are your newer computers using on-board cards with shared resources? It's the only reason I can think of why the old would out-perform the new...

I was thinking that it could possibly be driver issues as well. I was actually going to be reformatting/reinstalling everything on one of the newer PC's this week already. Going to try testing performance again at that point.

You hear a lot of people with newer hardware complain about the performance of Incarna when it was on Duality and SiSi. Most of the reasons I could think of are all driver related... But unsure.

You get a FREE expansion, and it's taking a little longer than expected, and you want refund of lost game time? Fo' real? That's pretty fail logic.

AH Hmm - I don't recall asking for this (or wanting it either)

Independent of you asking for it, you agreed to it. Section 10, topic D, subsection iii of your EULA you agreed to in order to play the game.

Originally by: DiscomBoBulate

But I didn't want to buy this expansion. I liked the game the way it was.... Futhermore, we pay a monthly subscription so this patch isn't free. We must continue to subscribe, whereas other games where I can buy the disk and choose to purchase expansions I want or don't want.

And it is actually pretty logical. I am paying for play time. Due to CCP failure we are unable to play for a period of time that we paid for. In the real world if I give you money and you don't deliver a satisfactory good or service you refund the money. Please explain to me why that shouldn't apply to CCP?

And to you I would like to point out the earlier mentioned entry in combination with section 12, paragraph 3. Yes you have paid for play time, but obviously written in the EULA it indicates that th eservice is available most of the time and states that it will not always be available. If you feel you are not getting your money's worth you are free to stop playing. People really need to understand what they agree to and stop whining.

So when your boss tells you that he "expects" you to finish a project by a certain deadline and you don't what usually happens? When a construction project is expected to finish by a certain date and doesn't what happens? When you are expected to show up in court for not paying your child support and you don't show up what happens? (I know you have issues with this). There are consequences when you fail to meet expectations. Please tell me what is the result of failed expectations with this game?

I would upgrade the GPU first, if the case is small and it's too hard to do yourself, let the store techs do it for you (I do NOT recommend Geek Squad). As long as you have upgrade slots, there's no need to upgrade your cpu (unless you're working less than 3gb RAM...)

Ok im getting really sick and tired of people wining about "incarna" CQ and so on.
First of all its just an evolution of eve. And psst the game will feature the same gameplay as ever.
You just See your Neocom in a different way.
And for what ive seen, it looks sweet.

The features to dress up your char.
Hey wel If you dont like the option to change into New clothes. Dont !!
And just move along playing eve like you always did.

Im exited where this is taking eve. And since if first logged on I wanted to see and walk around in the station.
It will give eve new perspective.

Go CCP

As a new player ive enjoyed reading what the older (time in game age wise) players have to say ive learned alot about this game just from reading these forums. I hope this new version or expansion will provide more enjoyment and some needed relaxation to all the frustrated players. flysafe to all. and keep teaching us newer players ty. SteveVugh

Just because you like to dress/undress excessorize dolls doesn't mean that everyone wants to. Seriously what is so cool about putting different cloths on your character? If you wanted to walk around a station play a first person shooter.

Excuse you?!?! If our ships are crap, why is the Rifter, Thrasher, and Hurricane so very much in demand? Gallante pilots rely on drones too much, which obviously leads to brain damage. Twisted Evil

In Rust We Trust is not just a marketing slogan, it is a stealth feature because no one would ever expect that flying assortment to actually have weapons to shred them with. Laughing

And, our stations have no annoying muzak, are not colored so that you go blind, and when you undock, you are not shat out the ass end of it.

True enough... Making the existing drivers compatible with DX10/D3D10 and then almost immediately DX11/D3D11, they might be struggling to keep up and performance could be hurting, but we're almost 2 years into DX/D3D11 now so I would think they'd have that figured out...

For the last time, Eve patches and expansions are NOT free!

Eve monthly subscription rate € 14.95
WoW monthly subscription rate € 12.99
