You get a FREE expansion, and it's taking a little longer than expected, and you want refund of lost game time? Fo' real? That's pretty fail logic.

AH Hmm - I don't recall asking for this (or wanting it either)

Whilst today might be a landmark, for me its just more pain. The last big download scrambled my OS after running the 'repair' program and I'm still waiting for my machine back. But now I find that I don't have Shader 3!!!!

Been a full paying player for a year, love the game but now I'm forced out or have to buy another machine even tho mine is only a year old.

When I pointed all this out to CCP I just basically got 'tough ****' and 'not our problem'.

Hope it works out for you guys.

But I didn't want to buy this expansion. I liked the game the way it was.... Futhermore, we pay a monthly subscription so this patch isn't free. We must continue to subscribe, whereas other games where I can buy the disk and choose to purchase expansions I want or don't want.

And it is actually pretty logical. I am paying for play time. Due to CCP failure we are unable to play for a period of time that we paid for. In the real world if I give you money and you don't deliver a satisfactory good or service you refund the money. Please explain to me why that shouldn't apply to CCP?

Well you got it, so you better learn to love it...cuz it's not gonna change. I don't like it either, and I personally feel it will get in the way of the way EvE is played today.

As an aside, you people who complain about the extended downtime each and every time there is a patch or update, I thank you. The level of internet weeping that the EVE community has achieved, has not let me down. As I sit here at work, reading all these wonderful, tear filled posts about, refunds and free skill points, I can only think of what a great day today truly is. Thank you all again. Razz

Ok, it might be .67 Euro's or 50 cents, whatever... Eve is ALWAYS down longer than they say they will be and if you add up all the downtime over the time you're a player (I've been here since '07) that time/money can really add up...

Guess why they extend the downtime besides assuring quality of the delivery? They did it for the lulz and they did it for the tears. CCP deserves some precious Tears© from all these(us) addicted whiners.

Since when is CCP worried about giving their customers what they want? Basically they have a group of people that think of things to keep themselves busy (while avoiding the main issues in the game....like lag). These people have a vision of eve that is very different from the average player.

We get free skill points once and anyway did you ever noticed how many money you are wasting while you are asleep, or at work, or even...... :O or even don't want to play EvE.

And in addition to other MMO'S where nothing happens when you not play in Eve your Skillqeue, industrial jobs, and reasearch jobs still go on.
Oh and if anyone will lose his POS cause of the lack of fuel, you could have fueled it before patch deployment

Nah man, just wait. patch isn't live on the server yet, if anyone tells you to download it outside the client it will break your client and make you do a reinstall, just wait

Clever... Not really... Some people who play this game only get to this play this game one or two days a week (because they have a real life besides Eve), and with a 12 hour downtime, depending on where you live, they might have just taken your entire day for this week...

If you really don't play this game all that often because you're supposedly at work, you should be able to appreciate the frustration of missed game time...

But yes, it IS a wonderful day out... Not really, I live in Florida and it's pretty if you're a tourist, but once you're native it's just 100 degrees out with high humidity and there's nothing worth doing since it's what's there for you to do every day... o.O

Just enjoy the fact that the game you love is being worked on in some way constantly... there will be times it addresses what you want and times it doesn't.

From reading a lot of these comments it is very clear that people have no clue what it takes to implement changes on a live platform and the issues that may arise. Just chill, be patient and wait for the new content. And for those of you who bring up the age old lag bs.... the difference between now and 7 years ago is immense... the only time there are problems are when people choose (and I repeat, CHOOSE) to join a 500 man fleet. What do you expect :P

Wasting time/money at work, sleeping and living my life are all things that can not be avoided, however, when I have to work longer than I am supposed to I am paid more money (overtime), when I sleep longer I wake more refreshed and my brain functions properly, I am compensated for doing that activity longer.

When Eve patches take longer (and 12 hours to load code that's already been written and supposedly tested, is kind of a long time when most games can patch in 4-10 without fail 90% of the time)the only thing I am compensated with are trolls on their forum when I'm trying to find out how much longer the patch is and why is it taking longer...

I agree, long as you don't mean EVERYONE...
(Speaking as the Senior Release Manager for a Fortune 75 company....)Smile
-------------------------------------
Couple Comments on posts above
1. I did not know it was even POSSIBLE to get a computer without a graphics subsystem that worked (Unless... a tiny laptop perhaps? in that case, go buy a REAL gaming rig
2. This is not just a small patch to a game... of COURSE it's not gonna take 4-10 min... this patch is removing the entire rendering/processing engine for a Supercomputer, replacing it with an entirely new model (Carbon)
AND sending new graphics for that to Clients, AND adding an entirely new subsystem for the SuperComputer/Clusters to handle (Incarna)AND sending the new graphics for THAT
Same for Turrets
(all the rest is, indeed, a 5 min push)
This game is NOT deployed on a bunch of discrete servers (A-La-WOW) It is installed on one of the largest supercomputers you will ever touch... You have GOT to take the time to make sure it all works. Test server can only get you "most" of the issues ironed out. There's only 1 supercomputer (the test servers are a fractional representation of the main one)

Whenever there's a "State-Change" patch,
1. Load a 5+day Skill
2. Start a long R&D process
3. Load up a T3 blueprint or 2 in your manufacturing queue and fire it up..
4. Load all your PI with 6 day runs
5. Log out and wait... Don't plan on doing anything in Eve for at LEAST 2 Days
(1 for the load, 1 for the OOPS, Ships are flying backwards (That WAS Hilarious!))

Oh jeeez, I'm going to have a heart attack if I can't log on soon.

I understand that there has to be a little bit of downtime once in a while, but how am I supposed to go for over 12 consecutive hours without logging in once???!!

I'm suffering some severe mental and psychological trauma here, and I better get a one day refund(0.75 euro), and some skill points(at least 200sp) for my pain and withdrawls.

Very HappyVery HappyVery Happy he he he he.

And why hasn't my mom brought me some cookies?? Doesn't she know that I'm totolly freakin out in the basement?!!!!
