I disagree with you on this point, I think it adds more than ZERO to security. This (afaik) happens only when you login from new IP. So in case somebody gets your login info somehow, they may not be able to login (given that they dont have API key/know what chars you have there) and do any harm to your account.
So imho I dont see any reason why this should be removed. And if you are everytime logging from different IP than well sry to say but its your problem. I safelly assume this is not case for majority of players.


They log into the game - only need account name and password for that.

They get a character name from that.

They now have the same access to your account management page they would have if the character check didn't exist.

Like I said, ADDS ZERO TO ACCOUNT SECURITY.


BTW - when I peritioned about this, the GM flat out admitted it wasn't about security, it was some sort of scheme to prevent phishing or some such.



It also is WAY TOO SENSITIVE to "ip changes", as I've not moved or changed my IP address in months yet it STILL triggeres EVER TIME I GO TO ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT. THAT is what's ****ing me off the most about this worthless waste of time - it's CLAIMS it won't ask every time, but it DOES IN FACT ask ever time, which adds up to a significant waste of my time since they added it.

Why can't we remove our credit card information? I don't want it on your servers. Really need to be able to scrub the account info.

Great to see this one resolved.

I was able to use my browser's history (both page browsed and forum data entry) to re-gain access to my account information with the ability to take actions w/in the acct management section.

While this is getting down to the details of browser security configuration (turning off form field entry history in FireFox), it is still worth mentioning.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Access Account Management section with legit credentials.

2) Browse to one or more pages w/in the section.

3) Click the log out link.

4) Use the browser's history page listing and return to one of the Account Management pages. Click Yes / OK when FireFox asks if you want to resubmit the form.

OS: Windows Vista 64-bit
Browser: FireFox 3.x

Hmmmm. Now I am unable to repeat the above steps.

all i did was try to transfer a toon from one account of mine to another account of mine .... your site does not accept my visaDEBIT card but eventually took the 20 finally from a mastercard .... yep you got the 20 <<<

i know that maybe after trying soooo many times - well 4 times - somehow it must of triggerd some account security type crap ... but i can tell ya all is well k

It should be pretty obvious why people want the ability to remove their credit card details from their accounts.

You still have not given us a decent answer as to why this function is no longer available.

I do not wish to cancel my account, and I do not presently wish to put a plex to activate my account either. I just want the ability to take off my credit card details from the system so that the account can run out naturally and then I will reactivate it with a plex at my own time.

If I go ahead and activate it with a plex right now, and then the plex runs out... guess what??? You'll go right ahead and charge my credit card again! I simply want my credit details taken off your site, why is this so difficult to understand?

We shouldn't be having to waste your GM's times by filing petitions about this sort of thing.

Can a dev please give us a clear answer regarding this issue?

GM Karidor told me that if you wish to remove your credit card information from your account you can do so by ether cancelling your account or changing the payment method. If you cancel the subscription, once your time runs out your CC information will be gone and until that point you will be able to cancel the cancellation without having to reenter your data.

Hmm... All I see in account management is "buy more time" and "stop buying time" and no "change payment method." I would like to assume this is a malicious plan by an evil corporation (yes I believe CCP has gone evil), except I know how incompetent your web team really is, so it's probably a 50/50 chance on that. Either way, your statement is still unclear... in the old system to switch to plex, you'd have to cancel your account. With your wording you are suggesting that the only way to remove our credit card details from the hands of evil men is by leaving EVE forever and praying that they honor what they've said. So... is it impossible to remove our credit card information and pay with PLEX instead?

Thanks for making the mass exodus more visually appealing.

Now that you have your site on par with 'modern design standards both visually and in terms of usability' you should do the same with your ships in space game play.

Adding over the top cash shop items is not modernizing, just so you know. I know how terrible you Icelanders are at economics.

I have been trying and trying to buy plex today with a vanilla mastewrcard giftcard and even though the info is correctly entered it is not authorizing it. The mastercard site shows 100 dollar balance. I called them they have no idea why it isnt being authorized. I submitted a petition but it has yet to be answered. I have used gift cards before so I am aware of how to do it. No hurry..............................

There is no way to cancel my subcription on the Account management page. Not even if you go into the change payment option, and try to change the info, it still has my debit card info there after i change it to something else.
Though I'm not 100% sure, I presume this is completely illegal both where I live, and on Iceland, and in fact smells of "scam".

There is no available link under "Game Time" to cancel subscription. The only links available are to changle payment plan and active codes and such.
