People keep complaining about the Gallente ships and weapons being kind of crappy (which I agree) yet has CCP even showed that they at least acknowledged the problem?

Has there been any sign of help coming to the gallente soon? If so can I have a link?

People will always complain that race X is underpowered needs a buff.

All ships / races have their strengths and weaknesses but I think things are pretty well balanced.

you have the longest range snipers

if you tackle your targets you can apply your blaster dps

your drone boats are among the best ships in the game

gallente is fine, what is your problem?

Nope thats Caldari I believe since they get the range bonus for hybrids, Gallente get the damage bonus.

Gallente could maybe do with some tweaking but I think people make them out as worse than they are. There are definately some very good ships in their line-ups, maybe a bit of a shame that some of them are better when equiped with autocannons.

All races have good ships and bad ships. Usually it is when someone's personal "favorite" ships are the ones considered poor that they consider the entire race underpowered/unbalanced.

So while there may not be a lot of love for Hybrids in general, people pretty much accept that the Ishtar, Dominix, Taranis, etc. are all good and popular boats. If you are like a Deimos fan, ce la vie.

The only Gallente ship for sniping is the megathron. I wasn't aware of any other decent Gallente sniping ships. I'm not counting the ishtar or dominix in full on sentry drone config.

by all accounts I've seen blaster dps is only slightly higher (like 10-15%) than the dps of other short range turrets, and not enough to win you a fight where the opponent is able to hit you while you get into range.

Every race has some of the best ships in the game.

While rails are the longest range weapon, Caldari get the hybrid range bonuses, making them to shoot farther. Sniping is more or less dead, with the advent of the new probing system.

Versatile, yes
Best ships in the game, not quite.

sorry i blurred the lines between hybrid platforms and strictly gallente in regards to the range comment

as for the *slight* dps increase for blasters... 15% is not slight by any means of the term. and if your too exposed while trying to get into range perhaps you need to develop new combat tactics

responding to the "versatile but not best in the game" you do realize in eve versatility IS what makes a ship good right?

seriously, what do you want? do you even know?
if you just want to be flavor of the month come out and say it.

to suggest the races aren't better balanced now then they have been in the history of the game is a joke.

I'm assuming that since nobody bothered to answer my question, the answer is no.

Gallente/hybrid review ?
>> We don't have a schedule for this right now, because we generally don't schedule balance work very far in advance. That said, we're of course aware of the concerns players have about Gallente ships and it's a concern that we share. We discussed exactly this issue with the CSM last time they were over, both in terms of the specific issue of Gallente balance (the discussion ended up spending some time looking at the ability of blaster platforms to get into range, for example), and the wider issue of how and when we schedule balance stuff, and why we tend not to comment on balance issues ahead of time (broadly, that we don't want to have an official position on what's broken until we've taken the time to sit down and really look at the problem, and we don't tend to do that until we're actually working on it).

So they're aware of the concerns but have only had vague discussions about the problem and don't have any plans atm.

Sniping beyond 140km is currently not very useful due to fast probing. Hence you see most ships fitting artillery for long range combat (Abaddons/Tempests/Maelstroms).

Medium blasters need a little tweaking, possibly large blasters too, and 425mm rails don't even hold a candle to 1400mms and Tachyons.

The only real change I'd like to see is a rail buff.

I hope they're not "fixing" Gallente. They still have a few good ships and I'm already training all the other FOTM ships.

Besides, Gallente ships are ugly. We can't have too many ugly ships that are FOTM, I mean, we already have Vagabonds.
