Let me get this right.. you can't find a Pirate in Lowsec?

Laughing

I never find anything but Pirates in lowsec. The Mission runners and POS alt's, (maybe 2-7 in a populated system), are just pictures in local, while Pirates are either station camping, sitting on one gate or another, or smack talking like there's no tomorrow. The Pirate population in EVE has risen sevenfold from when I started playing.

Honestly, there is almost nothing but Pirates, unless you happen to be in Alliance 0.0, (Some of which are really just Pirates by another name), or in run -of-the-mill highsec. Possibly some area's of Amarr Lowsec which are equally unpopulated, like the Khanid regions.

You just aren't looking in the right place, or they saw your fleet coming from a mile away. Speaking of which, almost no pirates these days don't have Mission Alt's, or Cov Op's spies in half a dozen systems surrounding where they camp at any given time. That includes highsec systems bordering Lowsec.

If you want to surprise pirates, you have to fly you fleet in one at a time, through multiple entrances and avoid local spikes. Even then there are no guarantees.

Came for a well reasoned and articulated post, but after a few paragraphs all I heard was this:

However, the nail in the coffin for me was the announcment that the new Dust game was being released as a PS3 exclusive. Honestly I don't think CCP could have made a worst business decision as they are alienating most of their fan base on PC.

nullsec is one huge pile of donkey poo and ive cancelled half of my accounts because of it. if they dont get their act together it will be all of them.

eve has gone from being a game with heart into a money making machine. **** that.

I canceled my accounts as well.
I think that the game is at its worst point since I have been playing. I'm not sure if I would even continue to play if it was F2P. The expansions for the most part have been disappointing. The game is unnecessarily over complicated and under supported. This gap has, for the most part, been filled by 3rd party volunteers. (EFT, DOTLAN jump planner, EveMon, Isk 3.0, etc) If I was CCP I would be embarrassed that these exist and would incorporate their functionality into the game. Furthermore, CCP seems too hung up on their technical achievements...technical acheivements dont necessarily make a good game. Ex - Just because you can hook Dust up to Eve doesent make it a good game. Dont get me wrong, Dust looks like a good game but it also looks like they saddled it with the same crappy fitting system that we have to deal with in Eve. It may possibly be the first console FPS that will require you to have a PC to play. :)
I think the game is due for an overhaul so that it can compete with the newer games that are available. Other space games are out that are less complicated to learn, have compelling stories, cut scenes and lots of voice work. Games such as Ace Online, have had spaceships AND ambulation since 2006. (not to mention this game has spun off into 3 different titles and is still alive) Star Trek has been out a year and has upped the ante by adding a complete ground combat system and even THAT is going to be overhauled by the end of the year to a more of a shooter style experience. Its like getting 2 games for the price of one. (maybe Cryptic/Perfect World will get smart and spin the game off into a more Eve like universe) There are a lot of space games out, though none have got it quite right... yet. Its only a matter of time before they do and when they do... I will be there.

I cancelled all 7 of my accounts 12 years ago and I'm just letting the subscriptions run out. And unless Eve goes back to what it was 12 years ago I'm not coming back.

funny thing about console gamers is they seem to play a new game every month, as 5000 games a week are released on ps3 how many ppl do you think will push new games aside to play DUST?? none is what i think, sure ppl will play, then it will drop off the nothing, and be a huge waste of time and money, money incedientally that PC users paid in hopes it would be used to better the game...... for PC users, think very carefully ccp!!!

I think ur wrong DUST is going to be for the Mature gamer who likes the concept that CCP created for Dust. what ur talking about is Casual gamers Dust is not for casual gamers just like EVE is not for casual gamers.

There is a huge market for gamers who like concept of Dust what ur going to find with those gamers is that they are up there in age like me 30 years of gaming. I own a PS3 heard about EVE from the MAG community who BTW loves the Concept of EVE and Dust. MAG and Dust are pretty much the same except Dust takes it to another level.

Cuz of EVE I haven't touched my PS3 in days lol 30 years of gaming and EVE is everything I've been looking :)

Stuff, wah wah wah.

Why do people feel the need to spout the same rhetoric as everyone else when they leave, and moreover, why do you think we are even interested? Perhaps a nice email to CCP outlining your thoughts and ideas would be more appropriate.

If you can't do that then at least give us an amusing excuse, maybe tell us that you are really a super spy from a distant galaxy and you have to go home now, or that you are actually someones love slave and your mistress/master now wants to torture you by making you play Starcraft for 18 hours a day. Be original.

Why do people need to say this stupid **** each time someone quits? Obviously, most of the times, some of the people care. So why dont you stfu.

So I have been playing EVE on multiple accounts for about three years now, and have almost exclusively been a hardcore PvP player. I have participated in all of the faction warfare fronts (mostly Minnie/Amarr), pirated, hi sec griefed, and did quite a bit of null sec PvP. In all of my time playing, the game has never been in as bad as condition as it is in right now.

As far as low sec is concerned, the recent changes to mission mechanics have greatly increased the population of low sec. However, that great increase in low sec population is 75% MISSION ALTS. Faction warfare is at this point almost completely dead and the missioning alts are worst than ever (and they have always been bad). This has also made finding targets for pirates more difficult than ever, considering that very few people are actually out roaming for fights anymore, and ganking speed tanking frigs and stealth bombers is no exactly fun or easy. Since the new missions mechanics, PvP activity in the Minnie/Amarr FW front and low sec area specifically has nose dived considerably.

In null sec, the recent changes to renting have forced many of the smaller alliances out of null sec and into bordering low sec areas, and just like the new missions mechanics, this has alienated a considerable portion of active PvP players in the game. As it stands now null sec is more of a snooze fest as ever, with roaming gangs becoming less and less common. Sure cap fights and big POS fights are still common, but unfortunately due to the broken nature of super carriers and fighter bombers I cannot even find these enjoyable anymore.

Another thing that I find frustrating is, that with the release and production of Incursion/Incarna, ship balance and actual implimented features to the game have not even been touched. It is almost as if CCP cannot responsibly handle and manage their own game. There are so many gameplay features that need work and updating I don't even want to begin to list them, but they are there and they have been there for a while. OP and overused ships such as the drake, hurricane, falcon, and of course super carriers have not been addressed and updated. It is also pretty dissapointing that in this most recent Alliance tournament(AT IX), all of the team builds and the ships being used are exactly the same as the last alliance tournament because there has been no balance changes. This is pretty boring and I don't think I am even going to enjoy watching AT IX.

All in all I honestly think Incarna is the beginning of the end for what I loved and enjoyed about EVE, and the shift from being a PvP focused game to a very obviously now PvE focused game is a huge let down. However, the nail in the coffin for me was the announcment that the new Dust game was being released as a PS3 exclusive. Honestly I don't think CCP could have made a worst business decision as they are alienating most of their fan base on PC.

I just wanted to share my thoughts on why im canceling my subs. Does anyone else feel the same way about the direction of PvP and the game in general?

You're not alone, mate. There are plenty of people who are unhapy with the direction that CCP is taking. Pro tip: Unsub and go play on the CEVE server. It's like a time machine back to 2009, lots of empty space and quite a few good fights.
