"And I'll post it again, some people are still connected (like me) so it isn't CCP so STFU"

Honestly Corina's Bodyguard get a clue because YOU can get on to EVE doesn't me it's not CCP issue. Like I said I have NO freaking internet issue other I can't connect to EVE server... Other people at same time reporting same issue almost same time. get a Clue or STFU.

Statues unknown still.
Also from North East US.

You'd file a petition for losing probes? You're so tight if you stuck a lump of coal up your arse you'd have a diamond pretty soon.

Just make sure you don't forget them, lost a perfectly good hotmail account that way... It was so secure not even I could log into it.

Last time that happened to me (I do tend to use obscure passwords from time to time) it took me 30 minutes to find a workaround using nothing
more complex than Google to find the url in the msn network to reset it. It wasn't the easiest thing i've ever done, but it wasn't voodoo either.

Well the possibility is that your computer can be one of the computers used to make the DEATHBALL OF DDoS. You just dont know it. :D

Not quite true. There is alot of good antivirus programs like Kaspersky which can detect these types of backdoors and block them. There is acutally a way to make sure you are not one of the attacking computers.

Now, if someone configured their antivirus to ignore that backdoor.... well then it's their own fault and they should be banned.

When protection against having your computer turned into a zombie ddos machine is soooo easily and readily available, you can't claim ignorance on this.

And even under worse case scenario.... aka you have no cash to buy antivirus... get AVG... it's free.... crappy in comparison to others but it is at least something.

Was up for about an hour then booted and cannot log back in. Based on what I've seen here I'm thinking CCP *might* be trying to isolate/filter the malicious traffic and have started by blocking certain ISPs like shawcable, Rogers, whatever ISP is in Midland, UK. I know Shaw & Rogers use "shared" connections between users so if anyone in their network is helping the DDoS attack (as an innocent host to the script that is being used) then CCP needs to block the whole "cluster" of users until the attack is ended.

Doing a quick snoop, it seems that whatever this 'Eurorings' is (Assuming it's a DNS server) is on a DNS Blacklist.

http://www.robtex.com/dns/eurorings.net.html

EDIT: Via the link above, it seems that Eurorings has been blacklisted, due to spam.

It seems that Eurorings.net would be a Vector for the Lulz spammers.

This makes sense as they are based in France/French nationals.

See here: http://www.robtex.com/dns/eurorings.net.html#blacklists

I'm pretty close to having to file a petition for probes. Already lost one set in the second server takedown. If I lose another I'm stranded in WH space.

I prefer Avast, it has more features in the free version. and has a nice silent running mode which I like. But its good to back it up with other brands that you don't run all the time, but use occasionally for full system scans, all of them have failings but they usually cover each others blanks.

Then use a proper web browser like FireFox, and use add/script/cookie blockers, have a good firewall... and then apply common sense.

Regarding not being able to connect now (I'm unable to as well).

The 'Net is sort of a wacky place (logically/topology wise, I mean), your neighbour and you may get connected to the server through a completely different route.

So whatever is happening now is likely upstream somewhere from CCP. If it's just a router going down, it should rectify itself in a while. If it's an ISP on the backbone going crazy/paranoid (which they have done at times) after the attacks, it may take a while longer =P

*edit* Pointing to Ethan Blacknova's post, which is the second scenario, which is a pain.

My guess would be It's down along the eastern sea board of North America, I am on the east cost of Canada and cant get logged in as well. All I know is I would like be compensated in SP for this. If CCP wont do it for everyone I will try launching a petition to get mine reimbursed.

That said this is not a rage post of any sort, CCP did a good job catching this one before it got out of hand. I have not dought they will be pulling an all nigher to get things running smoothly. I would join in on ordering them some take-out (or take-a-way if you like) but not sure that any place in Iceland does online ordering. Keep up the good work guys and hope everything gets sorted soon.

You would not belive how hard it is to remove all your credit card information. It is just not possible in some cases and in others there is no password recovery avaliable to even try.

Quoting myself to draw attention.

With a touch of investigation, I think that one of the main routes for people to connect to Tranquility has been blacklisted; Ergo: We cannot connect.

Try refreshing/flushing your DNS to resolve.
