Every week for the past month Singularity, the test server, has been broken for the past month for Mac users.

This week the client won't patch. Last week it crashed entering a station. The week before there was a mirror and the server was unusable. The week before that the client didn't work.

Why is it that the Mac client can't be kept in working order? The Alliance Tournament is happening and an unstable test server - where everyone tests their setups - means that us Mac users are left out in the cold. I know that I wasn't able to fly for my team the first two weekends because I didn't make it to scheduled practices due to SiSi inaccessibility.

And so today the day before group stages the server is unavailable to Mac users.

I understand that this is a test server and that there may be stability problems but these issues are simple things that should be been caught before the patch was pushed live. Does anyone at CCP even use a Mac?

Oh, and yes, I have reported bugs.

I'm in the same boat - it is annoying to have a 100% unplayable (and untestable) Mac client during the Alliance Tournament. Needless to say... we need practice, and it's nice to be able to do it on the test server when we can, but I've missed many days due to a dead Mac client.

I have been reporting bugs - but it's a bit silly to have it be so disabled that you can't even log in. The QA team does a good job of making sure the live client works well - I've not had problems there for a long time. Just... let them look at the test version for the mac before they go out PLEASE!

Same here, I spent 2 aggravating days downloading then re downloading the client. now I try opening it and it crashes instantly, iv'e restarted and I WILL NOT REINSTALL IT. Either start supporting the client that you have for Mac users or discontinue it and make EVE a PC only game. This is completely ridiculous.

I understand your frustration with the apparent lack of support but there are three factors affecting your capability to connect successfully to Sisi, that you're boiling down into an incorrect sidelining of the Mac client.

The first is general Sisi availability. If the server is being updated, mirrored, in VIP or some other such state, thats an issue that affects both Windows and Mac clients equally. As such there's no reason to feel singled out.

Secondly, there is general pre realease stability. This is a result of the massive technical changes being introduced and again affects (to differing degrees certainly) both the Windows and Mac clients.

The third factor is the only one that is truly restricted to the Mac and that's the continued updating of the Cider wrapper. To ensure full support for Incarna we've been working with Transgaming to make sure all the new technology works in their emulation layer. This is a piece of technology only in use by the Mac and so you would be correct if this was your only issue of contention.

As some one who's been fixing issues with recent Cider updates, I understand intimitely how frustrating it can be, but please don't take the various problems that we've all been enduring, and combine them into a single ball of Mac-centric rage. We're working to fix them as fast as possible, and are rolling out daily updates to both the client and the Cider wrapper.

I hope you can find it within yourselves to aid us in this endeavour, since your help will be greatly appreciated and then you can rest, safe in the knowledge that we're doing all we can to keep you playing EVE.

CCP Atrops, What you saying is sort of ok

IF IT WASNT GOING LIVE IN A FEW DAYS

Right now the mac client is UNPLAYABLE. I have access to a windows machine, they sit side by side on my desk, so i know SiSi was up, but the bugs...

PI - Only get an outline of the planet
Right click - Yeah, i guess that is removed from the game
Stuck modifier keys - Yes, they are back, but with a bonus this time - They are random
Overall the Captains quarters hangs the game and makes me force quit when i click on about half the items in it

I could go on, or i could file a bug report, but it would be ignored liek the rest of them, so why bother. You are going to release a crappy buggy client and patch a patch to a patch and client update for the next 6 weeks

Currently on my mac on the Singularity server it will not allow me to accept the Eula.. after patching a empty box appears and there is nothing to scroll down to.. Therefor the accept button never appears.

I've reinstalled it TONS of times, and done just about everything I can. tested it on my other mac, same problem..

Please look into this..

Anyone else having this issue?

I've just renamed my old client to Eve-online-TQ and downloaded the singularity client.

It worked first time no issues. Shame about the FPS in the CQ but perhaps there is some optimisation to be done there. I'm sure the long game on this is going to be great but in the meantime .... Confused

** Seems like updating / patching is borked at the moment **

  • We have discovered an issue with the Mac client patch. Mac client users will need to download the full client.

You guys suck.

It appears that several people today are unable to get into SISi server. I am getting that is it incompatible build...I just downloaded a fresh copy and attempted to get online but receiving the same error.

When I first booted the program it gave me the update popup and then it turns out to be a test patch.

Any news/update/help with this or is it down for a period of time?

Having the same problem, yesterday and today.

Checking the server status, it seemed as if it were down or at least limited last night. I was getting "Server Status Unknown" messages at that point on a PC as well.

Today, however-- there's normal activity showing on the server monitor, but... "Incompatible Build".

Sucks, but I'm glad it's not just me.

EDIT to add-- The generic patcher updated me earlier this morning, and now says that I should be "rock and roll". So yeah-- it's as current as I can find, although the build number doesn't correlate with that listed in the Test Server subforum as being "just released". Not sure if they're different numbers for Mac and PC, though...

The fact that we are paying you 15 per month per account is more than enough surely for you to actually pay for this type of testing to be undertaken BEFORE you go and roll out such a massive update!

I can not find it within myself to run bug reports and lord knows what else as you (CCP) clearly couldn't be bothered to take the Mac community seriously enough to warrant full and proper testing of ALL Mac affecting issues i.e. Cider etc. before letting Incarna loose on us. If you did pay CCP staff to test Incarna/Cider etc. on the Mac before Incarna was released, then frankly if I were you (CCP) I would be considering disciplinary action against those testers as they clearly did not do their job well at all!

As I have said in other Mac forum posts, CCP this is NOT ACCEPTABLE, we are paying you for a service that frankly we are not getting!

For myself, I have just posted a diary note for 2 weeks from now and if things haven't improved by then, then I fully intend to cancel my 2 subscriptions as I am not prepared to pay you 30 a month just so that I can logon, add skills and then logoff... This is not the type of gaming experience I want!

I honestly do hope that you fix things by then as I don't want to quit Eve, however, I am not prepared to throw 30 a month down the drain for something that doesn't work and that is causing me immense amounts of stress and tension, especially as I play games to try and relieve myself of the daily stresses, not ADD to them.

Having thought about it over the past 24 hours (nearly) I have come to the decision that I've had enough. I have just cancelled my 2 accounts. A very sad day for me, but I am not prepared to continue to shell out my money in the hopes that CCP might finally get around to putting things right for Mac users.

Goodbye all, fly safe and don't stand for anymore sh*t from CCP if you're a Mac user, remember, you are paying for this poor service!
