Ubuntu 11.04
Wine 1.2

The client freezes 10-20 seconds after I successfully log in. What can I do about it?
Also, I installed EVE in my home folder in Ubuntu. Could this create any sort of problems? Should I have installed it in other place?

Thanks in advance.

can you tell us more, like the graphics card, the drivers you have installed, and how you are running it with wine?

Thanks for the reply.

My GPU is GeForce 9500GT, running driver 270.41.06.

I'm pretty new to Ubuntu, so after moving from Windows 7, I just installed Wine and tried running EVE according to this link.

humm, he suggested using the ms native dx librarys, and it has been some time since that was needed, so i am going to suggest you try to disable them first:
launch winecfg
on the library tab
if the dx version is in the existing overrides menu edit it to builtin, native
if not add it using the new override for library drop down. I am not sure how to find the subversion you have installed so that is up to you.

also the setting to emulate a virtual desktop will affect every wine app using default settings, try using the command from the bottom of here so you launch eve in it's own desktop

Thanks for the information. Will try both methods.

Could be the Jukebox music bug. Find the 'Jukebox' subfolder in your eve installation and rename it (so the game doesn't find it), see if it fixes it.
