We moved on to confronting and humiliating the entire Amarrian bloc with Operations Judas Goat, Slaughterhouse and Daisy-Cutter.

I certainly didn't feel humiliated by JF's efforts in that campaign, and I suspect that the rest of the Amarr Bloc didn't either.

But then again you didn't feel humiliated by being forced to celebrate Sarum's coronation while being docked in Amarr Family Station with a fleet of angry Matari terrorists and Radical Freespacers gathered outside while you handed out battleship prizes to fellow dock monkeys and got a stern tongue lashing on the subject from your more-militant kinsmen in the KPV.

The obvious conclusion is you lack a proper awareness of shame.

Thats hardly news though! Very Happy

Are you talking about the gathering that was advertised in advance as being held inside a station?

Are you still bitter about having to mewl impotently outside?

I think we considered it a positive triumph for any pilot opposed to Amarrian Nationalist folly to see our enemies reduced to patting themselves on the back across the pews in a station church rather than daring to parade outside in space.

Unfortunately for your cause many of your kinsmen felt the same way.

We decided not to let you disrupt the event, and you didn't. We did things according to our timetable and agenda, not yours.

A few (a small minority) disagreed with that decision, but they're entitled to their opinion.

As for your contention that your enemies had been reduced to patting themselves on the back inside a station, I disagree. Most of the corps present on that day still have an active presence in space. Indeed, PIE pilots continue to this day to engage in combat on a daily basis.

Short of kicking our way into the cathedral and setting fire to your prayer-cushions I can think of few ways it would have been possible to interfere with an entirely station-bound celebration of Amarrian Nationalist "power".

But then again, was it neccessary to further disrupt an already pathetic demonstration of cowardice and inability to take action against your foes?

One might say you were content to humiliate yourselves quite willingly by your actions there. Servants of the Empire driven to hide behind the robes of a clergymen while Matari Guerillas and Laughing Freespacers mocked you from outside.

Nothing else needs to be said on that image.

But that's my point. Had we undocked and destroyed your fleet, the remembrance ceremony would still have been disrupted. So we stuck to the plan.

Fighting at a ceremony to remember the victims of war would have made a mockery of it.

In the same way that handing out battleships as prizes to "good amarrians" would be a mockery of such a ceremony of memorial you mean?

Or in the same way that shouting "Amarr Victor" and patting yourselves on the backs makes a mockery of a martial organization forced to hide within a station from enemies outside while talking of their military power and glory?

You really should make a greater effort to keep your story straight.

Quote:
Originally by: Archbishop Thank you for attending. But before you go. I have a surprise. The loyalist organization ZERO HEAVY INDUSTRIES and PIE Inc have donated some ships to be distributed to attendees. You have all been secretly assigned numbers based on your order in the chatwindow on the right - Of course terrorists and enemies of Amarr are not eligible for prizes. The first number is 8. Derek Schaeffer. You are awarded an Armageddon Battleship. Use it well against enemies of the Empire and God

However, Derek Schaeffer declined to accept his prize, saying "Keep it. Perhaps use it to live up to your high words and fight the enemy at our doorstep. I am sorry, I cannot sit here any longer." At this point he departed from the ceremony along with members of the Khanid Provinical Vanguard corporation.

Silas Vitalia had the following to say: "Let's away, these words of Amarr Victor ring most hollow considering the war targets nearby. Call us when you people are serious about ther real threats."

As I said Rodj Blake.

Ah yes, the old quoting out of context ruse.

I urge interested parties to read the full text of what was said at the memorial service, rather than just the little snippet presented by Jade.

But since you seem so keen to talk about humilation Jade, shall we talk about the time a Star Fraction fleet failed to intercept a frighter carrying a senior Amarrian VIP because their fleet hadn't had time to set up their blockade properly after chasing a decoy halfway across Domain?

I take it that you don't want to talk about JF being humilated by a monk then.

Would you prefer to talk about the time that you, the arch-advocate of free space, had to make an announcement regarding the closure to neutral vessels of the space that your alliance controlled? I guess that you must have found that rather humiliating.

Isn't that precisely what we are talking about with your organization attempting to commemorate the fighting at Mekhios by offering Battleships to other loyalists only to be told to keep the ships and use them yourself rather than hiding in a station from your enemies? Do try to keep your wits on the subject.

My point is that you seem to think that us doing something that we planned to is somehow humiliating.

I disagree.

I say that your failure to intercept Brother Joshua's freighter (and the other freighter that was with him. And the three industrials) in Kor-Azor Prime was a humilation.

I say that you announcing that your alliance was closing the space it controlled was a humilation.

And I say that you being caught out employing a neutral-flagged IGS proxy must have been quite humiliating as well.

Ah you are confusing yourself Rodj Blake. What I consider is deeply humiliating for your organization is that after resolving to hold a celebration of Amarrian martial prowess and success in a station interior (to avoid your enemies outside) you decided to attempt to reward your fellow nationalists with gift battleships only to be told to "keep them" and try using such things yourself rather than gutlessly coughing out the phrase "amarr victor" from dock.

Except that it wasn't a simple celebration of martial prowess. Note the title of the thread - Honoring the Fallen.

Also get your facts straight. Only one battleship was returned to us. I believe that it later saw combat defending the Empire.

Really Jade, if this is your greatest "victory" over PIE after eight years, you should probably hang your head in shame.

It's hardly a humiliation compared to you messing up your biggest ever chance to affect the Empire, having to retract your NRDS policy in public, or being caught out using a proxy now is it?

Then why all the "Amarr Victor" nonsense? Why give out battleships? Why all the talk of battle and victories? Perhaps you should have kept your language to a simple prayer meeting and avoiding speaking of war and conflict completely since it was your intention not to fight your enemies under any circumstances.

But really I still think you are a little confused. I spoke here in this thread of the humiliation often handed out to Amarrian nationalists and you simply allowed me to prove the point most appropriately with reference to the latest in a long line of such humiliations.

That we occasionally have issues with our brethren on how best to conduct the Reclaiming does not constitute a crisis of faith or an impending dissolution of the Amarr-bloc.

Our work as a people is stronger than any one group, or one particular argument between us.

In fact we have begun to see past our differences and realize that we have many of the same goals, albeit with differences in methodology.

It would be to your detriment Jade to mistake a public argument between PIE and ourselves for any grand schizm. My organization and my pilots are quick to anger, as is well known. This serves us well out on the frontier but can occasionally hamper social events....

Oh make no mistake ms Vitalia - this was a mere slap in the face not declaration of profound schizm or civil war. But such things can be humiliating to the one slapped and it did certainly highlight the general feeling at the time that for Amarrian crusaders to shout "Amarr Victor" inside a church while their enemies mocked them from space outside was not a very dignified sight at all.

I see you are hiding your shame and embarrassment behind lies as usual Rodj Blake.

You reference a communication I made seven and half years ago communicating the decision of the NVA council to temporarily close space in its core regions in the face of a giant pirate invasion.

Note that NVA was not "my alliance" it was not even an "alliance" (since formal alliances did not exist at that time). NVA was a lose affiliation of allied corps with a council deciding policy on democratic principles. On the occassion you reference a majority of representatives decided their interests were best served by adopting the policy I communicated on their behalf.

Jericho Fraction was outvoted on that occassion and opted to maintain our own rules of engagements deciding we would remain staunchly NRDS as we have been since our founding.

Interestingly this ideological schism would lead to Jericho Fraction breaking with the NVA when it transitioned to its next identity "Phoenix Alliance" after a majority other councillers decided to make the closing of borders permanent and complete their descent into NBSI xenophobia. These and other issues played a role in the setting the scene for the Great Northern War that broke out six months later.

But of course you know this Rodj Blake because we have had this discussion dozens of times over the years and you simply wished to tell your lying version of events again to distract attention from your own humiliation in the matter of the Mekhois memorial debacle

Still, I do welcome the opportunity to demonstrate the strength our of our principles and idealism once again.

For security reasons, as of 14:00 eve time on the 23-Oct-2003 Venal will be closing it's borders to all non NVA or NAP members. All current non combatents present in venal space are advised to leave immediatly until the war situation can be resolved.

Once the current threat to Venal has been resolved, operations will return to normal and borders once again opened.

Any ships remaining in venal space after 14:00 do so at their own risk. Defensive forces will be operating a KOS policy during this attack.

If your vessel is trapped behind the lines then we advise you to make contact with NVA fleet assets either via local chat, or by joining the NVA public channel and finding an NVA-flagged member.

If you ask permission to leave in safety and cooporate with NVA fleet assets you will not be harmed.

This announcement covers Venal, M-ONENA and HQ6Z-L Regions specifically.

PB, K-Tay, and Fade are not closed at this time, but be aware that heightened NVA fleet patrols in these regions will be on full war alert and it is important to declare your intentions and keep an eye on local chat.

The NVA council thanks you all for your cooporation and understanding in this time of great anxiety and warlike preparation.

Your corporation was a member of the NVA at the time. I believe that you sat on its council. Now, that statement might look to some people that you were announcing that NVA vessels would be firing upon neutrals.

People can draw their own conclusions.

I made it quite plain that Jericho Fraction had decided to make absolutely no change to our rules of engagement and since we had set all pirate hostiles -10 already there was absolutely no need for it - hence our opposition to the popular vote. But you are still wriggling - earlier you clearly stated that I had retracted the JF NRDS policy - a claim that is an outright lie.

You can invent all the conspiracy stories you like Rodj Blake - but since the NVA existed long before the implementation of formal alliance structures there was absolutely no mechanism to tie individual standings together. Perhaps a problem if one needs to go digging for seven year old threads to cover blushes at being shamed by other nationalists!

What conspiracy theory? I merely pointed out that you once said that the alliance of which you were a part (the New Venal Alliance) had decided to shoot neutrals.

As conspiracy theories go, it's not really up there with the claim that I had assigned fighters from within a POS forcefield despite such a thing not being possible at the time, or with the claim that Brother Joshua had teleported himself, two freighters, three industrials and thousands of people without access to cloning technology past your blockade.

Unless you count the mechanism of discussing who should be red, who should be blue and setting corporation standings accordingly. Or maintaining a list of people who are enemies. Much like some coalitions of alliances do today!

I don't see an issue with discussing events of more than seven years ago, especially since this is a thread looking back on eight years of history.

But if you want to discuss more recent JF failures, there are plenty to choose from. Your failures in in space. Your failures on this forum.

And I don't feel shamed by my fellow nationalists. I know that KPV may not agree with everything we've done, but I think that they understand why we've done it. Likewise, they've done things that PIE wouldn't neccessarily have done, but I understand why they've done them.

No you did not "merely" point that out. If you had this conversation would have gone in a rather different direction as I would have responded with a little history of the NVA->Phoenix alliance transition and our exit on disagreement with the formal adoption of NBSI ideology.

But what you did claim (entirely falsely) was that I had "publicly retracted the Jericho Fraction NRDS rules of engagement". You knew this to be a lie when you spoke it. But you felt you needed a distraction from the embarrassment of the Mekhios debacle and were prepared to take a risk that nobody would notice.

Now of course if you genuinely cared about seven year old discussions you could seek a little further afield to discover documents covering the founding constitution of the NVA rather than continually (and rather idiotically) failing to recognize the difference between an early voluntary association of corporations "alliance" and a later formal concord registered alliance (or indeed a capsuleer empire milita) - the latter two structures quite definitely allowing an override of corporate standings.

Indeed one could quite strongly accuse PIE of hypocrisy most foul by your voluntary association with a 24th Crusade full of villains, cheats, pirates, turncoats and various undesirable elements who have a rich and varied histoy of murdering innocents and rampaging through space but whats the point? Yours is a corporation of slavers promoting slavery and celebrating the degredation of the human spirit as a cherished goal. No criticism I make could have purchase on that essential lunacy.

*shrugs*

But truth is never your goal in these little interjections is it Rodj Blake? You'd rather trade in murky allusions, teleporting clerics, cloaking bestowers, other people's accomplishments, and indeed any other mud you care to hurl to change the subject from the one you find least comfortable at that moment.

People have been saying similar things about PIE for as long as I can remember. And yet it was a PIE CEO who was made a member of the Order of the Sacred Throne. It was PIE to whom the Speakers of Truth turned to when one of their number was on a mission of utmost importance. PIE was one of the corporations praised by the Hedion review for its efforts in the Bleak Lands, and it was PIE who Yonis Ardishapur singled out for special praise.

Not too shabby for a bunch of powder puff fanactic non-entities.
