I've been having 2 issues post-patch.

1. My hotkeys have stopped working properly. I can no longer select a gate and then hit S or D to warp/jump. If I hold down s or d and then click the gate, it works properly.

2. The market lists only display results that are in the same station properly. All other results appear as black text on a black background. I can mouse-over and the item text is rendered properly.

The game continues to crash while jumping through gates even after todays patch. It is worse if using auto pilot. Running Windows 7. Also game setting is to performence.

I see all these issues and wonder what I got that you do not. Update loaded first time and ran. All patches loaded and ran. I have a smooth running game, fast, stable and responsive. Its running so fast that I was able to turn up some graphics settings and now actually have a good looking game. I tried to get a gate jump crash by running 2 clients and having both jump back and forth, no crashes. I did a 3 client mining op, no issues, no crashes, no glitches, even get 30 fps on the active window. Ive done dozens of view market orders, grand total of one crash that I cannot replicate.

If we can figure you why mine works when yours do not, maybe we can solve issues. (I feel like I'm getting "survivors guilt").

I found the market details bug, how to reproduce it at will, and a workaround.

24 hours i've been tryin to get some sort of info from CCP on this subject, any response from any blue would be appreciated, even if its sayin, we dont know,

least u could let me know so im not hitting these forums up all the time looking to see if CCP have bothered to reply yet.

Its not on imho i wouldnt take this treatment from a game shop that sold me a game that didnt work u know, so why i have to suffer the silent treatment for a game i HAVE and AM paying for, i really dont know. CCP going downhill fast in my estimation

same problem here.
client crashing after last patch
switching to a chat window crashes everything but music stays.
game is unplayable at this point.
is this getting fix or would I need to halt sub?
Evil or Very Mad WTF!

Downloaded the client patch on Friday.

Now game is crashing all the time even undocking seems to cause it or answering a mail.

Just had notification of monthly billing so I have written back and complained I really can't see the logic of paying for something that at the moment is useless. If they said "we don't know what the problem is" I would be happier, I even said if they tell us we can't play anymore we would probably accept it but the SILENCE is so wrong on every level.

Software is allowed to use 100%. Hot running is not a bug nor a design flaw.

When software uses a 512Mb GPU on a quadcore machine w/ 12Gb of RAM (with settings at "medium" and most extra effects turned off) and the GPU gets within 10% of the point where it will shut down to preserve the hardware, this is most certainly indication of a bug or design flaw.

Its actually apple that doesnt want the fans to run at full speed. If you can fry an egg on your mac, go get SmcFanControl asap, it might even prevent your mac from dying prematurely by heatstroke.

For more info, check this post.

Once I installed SmcFanControl and cranked up the fans to max while playing my mac temp dropped roughly 30 degrees celcius across the board. This _might_ even help with other weird experiences which can be triggered by overheating.

Seriously, go get it if you run any games on a mac...

Yeah, I have a mod that ramps up the fans for me, but the downside is that running the fans at full speed can lead to premature failure there as well. Obviously a cheaper part, but the jury is still out on whether SMCFanControl voids the apple warranty (I seriously doubt it does, but I recall reading a case where someone was refused a replacement by a Genius who found it installed).

But yeah, this whole thing with Apple and fans not running until it's almost too late is ridiculous. I've just gone to running EVE windowed @ 1920x1200, and I'll just wait for CCP to fix whatever bug is kicking in so I can get back to the 15-20șC cooler temps of pre-1.6.

Hi.

While scanning...didn't the bookmarks that you had already created, display their title when the mouse was hovered over them? That doesn't happen for me since the patch.

Well spotted. But chances are CCP won't recognize your feedback.

Not to worry, I bug reported it. No reply yet, but the sticky key bug did get a "known issue" reply.

One thing that I'm seeing or Hearing is that the sounds of being outside/inside a station follow me when I'm flying around. it makes things a little strange when trying to listen for NCPs showing up in astroids when all I hear are station noise

Still getting low FPS - 8fps in station and 12fps out of station.

Any updates from CCP on a fix??

Anyone else here who posted on this topic still having the same issues or has the latest additional patch fixed your issues? Would love to get an update....

Cheers.

Having the same problem. did you, by any chance, tried minimizing the floating windows during game? i hid all my windows and i immediately hit 60++ fps from 10 fps with all the windows i use visible. i tried it with just overhead and local windows up and i suffered an approximate 15 fps hit per window. with all the windows i use up, the game is barely playable. must be something wrong about how the game renders the floating windows

I just tried it:

All windows closed:
30fps in station
20fps in space

Windows open:
4fps in station
3fps in space

Closed and open one at the time:

Windows that seemed to have no effect:
Local
Chat
Cargo
Corp hangar

Windows that were definitely noticable on FPS:
Assets
People and Places
Station manager
Overvied
Selected item (minor FPS hit)

This is on a 2006 Macbook Pro
2.17Ghz Core Duo
2GB ram
X1600 video 256MB ram

so there definitely is something wrong with the way the game renders the client windows
un optimized maybe
are the windows 2d, while the game graphics is 3d? maybe its got something to do with this
i hope ccp fixes this

@ Gunther Gabel - have you tried running eve in windows on bootcamp? if you did, how's the performance?

Why would I waste money buying a copy of winblows?

I certainly am not going to taint my perfectly good laptop with crappy software...well, other than EvE, that has enough bugs for everyone

IMac Snow Leopard 10.6.7

2.16GHz Duo, 2 Gb Memory, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT

Still crashing a bit in windowed mode, but I spotted everytime I clicked off for for instance Teamspeak Eve would lock out, so as long as I don't click off Eve it is reasonably stable .

Not sure if I would pvp with it yet though, could lose too may ships.

I have complained to CCP and sent them my System overview, they agreed it matched at least the minimum spec so they could only suggest dumping all the preferences, not sure it made any difference though

They suggested if no better, to file an official bug report with a Cider trace log.

I intend to try the no floating windows trick though

Crashes when auto-piloting while tabbed out of fullscreen are back after optional patch #2 :-(

Also - I ask again where did fixed window mode go for Eve for Mac??

Mid-2007 24" 2.8GHz iMac, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon 2600 HD Pro 256MB VRAM, OSX 10.6.7

UPDATE: As suggested I tried minimising the GUI windows to improve the framerate. Works perfectly - EVE is playable.... as long as I don't need to open any windows which kinda defeats the point!
This should give CCP something to work with at least.

Thanks for the tip.

Just to add my voice:

using iMac w/ x1600 graphics, unplayable due to low FPS.

On the bright side, maybe I'll get some work done while CCP sorts this out? :p

sorry i dint say get a copy of windows, i just wanna know if the wrapper for eve has something to do with the low fps. i dont have a copy of windows atm so i cant check if theres a diffrence in performance between eve on osx and eve on windows via bootcamp
if somebody has windows up on bootcamp, can you please check the performance and try the no windows gui as well
thanks

Update
been suffering from the low fps bug when i remembered that at one time i edited my config file to get some boost in performance.
i got that hack from around here somewhere.
so i tried restoring from the back up that i made of the config before i made the changes.

the config file is in user\library\preference\eve preference

i edited some entries in it pertaining to the graphics

this is what mine currently looks like now (old config)

"[d3dgl]
"AnisotropicTextureFiltering" = "Y"
"VertexShaders" = "Y"
"PixelShaders" = "Y"
"PixelShadersLevel" = "3.0"
"ClipSpaceFix" = "Y"
"FragmentOffset" = "Auto"
"FixedProgram" = "Y"
"RectangleTextures" = "Auto"
"DynamicVBO" = "N"
"IndexVBO" = "N"

"FBO" = "Y"
"FBOBackBuffer" = "N"
"GLSL" = "M"
"VertexShadersLevel" = "3.0"
"FloatTextures" = "Y"
"OcclusionQueries" = "Y"
"ForceMOVACompliance"="N"
"ATIINTZ" = "Y"

note the N values in :
1. dynamicVBO
2. IndexVBO
3. FBO Backbuffer

So i restored from my config backup having the above values
booted into the game
got 30-40 fps with all my windows in game up, including fps window(ctrl+F) im betting its higher with fps windows closed
windows still give a hit on performance but its perfectly playable now

maybe you guys can verify this fix.
make a backup of your config and then change those entries i enumerated to N if you have Y, and maybe vice versa

Superb find Gem!
Restoring those old values you indicated on the config file fixed all my graphics issues - fps back to normal now with all windows open :)
EVE is playable again.

CCP take note of Stacy Gemini's post - it's a fixer.
