Not able to log in. Get this message after some time trying to 'authenticate'

"Connection Timeout - The server failed to acknowledge the client's response to the server's challenge within a reasonable amount of time"

Well CCP can I please have an answer to my petition and an indication when I can get a working version of EVE as I have not been able to login since the patch was deployed yesterday!

Can you be more specific please, are you not able to log in or not able to select a character? What happens, does the client crash or is it stuck somewhere or what happens? Have you got a logserver log? Sorry if you've supplied all this before, but I'm investigating a specific potential issue and am wondering if that's what you're experiencing.
What about I have been unable to login since the patch was deployed do you not understand? EVE.exe has experienced a problem and has to close?????????
Please check my petition as I have said it enough.
I have just come off the phone to a friend who works for one of the Tech magazines here and he has had a few people complaining and wants me to list all thats happened so far!with my experience of this. Confused

I'm sorry but I am not a GM so I don't have access to petitions. But you've already given me more information than I had before, "EVE.exe has experienced a problem and has to close". Does this happen before you even log in, or are you able to log in and then this happens when you select your character? Also a log file might be very useful in figuring out the cause of the problem you're experiencing.

Non-unique stack indicators (i.e. unassembled ships and un-used mods) are translucent which makes some of the numbers harder to read than they need to be.

While I welcome the new graduated scale within the directional scanner "angle" selection, the slider "ball" is now a slider "dot"... can this be a bit bigger please?

Warp tunnels only appear about 25% of the time, I thought it was that they only appear in solo warp, not when warping as a group, but they seem to be completely random

The brighness / color of the capacitor and the your shield/armor/hull points are more difficult to read.

Brackets for missiles = epic fail

New FPS monitor is clunky and ugly

POS are now very often located off grid from the moon warp-in (but bookmarks still take you to the POS)

To be honest, the only thing I like about this patch is the graduated scale on the directional scanner "angle" - everything else seems like "change it for the sake of change"

"Missiles had acquired brackets by accident, they have now been removed. The missiles were not very happy about this but they understand that it could have caused some lag in certain situations and as they are as invested as we are in your enjoyment they have decided not to object to this decision."

I was laughing hard.

Not because of the clown text, but because you believe the poor attempt of downplaying your lousy QA will gain you any respect. Paying customers probably ask themselves whether they pay to play a bug free game or pay to get some clown responses.

Please, spare us these types of silly excuses.

It is well known the flow of information between GMs and DEVs does lack.

But it's CCP fault, not ours.

I guess the easiest way is if you could attach it to a bug report, mention my name in there to make sure it gets to me quickly. Thanks :)

Hmmm... it looks like a problem with the graphics card, what type of card do you have? Can you attach a dxdiag as well please.

ATI Radeon HD 5450 DXDiag sent also

I am not suprised it is my fault all along just like when you lose a ship to a DC it's all my fault right CCP? So eve works perfectly before patch and after it is my graphics card at fault that it doesn't work anymore?
Well you have untill the end of today to show me how and then thats at least one ex eve player you will have.
from the bug report!
This report has been attached to a defect?

Does this mean you are defective or me?

CCP please acknowledge that PI is broken and that clearing the cache does not resolve the issue!
Please provide progress on identifying the root cause of the issue and estimated timescales to resolving it.

I understand you are all firefighting at the moment! however, some clear communication from your side would be appreciated and reassure the user base that you are addressing the issues!

Keep up the good work.

Sol epoch - it means the issue has been assigned to a programmer to investigate and work on, there isn't a known issue with that graphics card so at this point we don't know what the problem is. While we investigate, you could try deleting (renaming) your settings folder and see if that helps.

Aaron West - thanks, we are aware of the PI issue and treating it as high priority.

Settings folder? where is that? But more to the point is that you have no idea why I cannot logon or when a possible workaround/fix might be available?
I should just keep paying for something I can no longer use Eh?
Oh! I see PI is a priority but getting your paying public back online and might get fixed is not? just delete and rename my settings file see if it helps well damn it it doesn't. You just lost me as I will take my money elsewhere, As customer service goes this has been pathetic.

First after the patch, the game was unplable to me with very serious graphic glitch.

Here my game screen !

I solved it by some luck by switching "antialiasing" graphic option from "unabled" to 2X (work too with 4x) and every thing is solved (with absolutely no clue why doing it fix the trouble). Perhaps it can help some player.. and be interesting to CCP to look a bit about it.

Just a small one.

I've noticed that MOTD in chat channels seem to be wrapped. (Meaning when I log in, all the wording is all bunched over eachother into the size of which I have my chat channels)

It never used to do this before. Just something small Smile

The settings folder is typically (on Vista/Win7) located in c:\users\[yourname]\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_tranquility
The reason I think that might solve your problem is that it will set all graphics settings back to default, there may somehow be something in your settings that is now preventing your client from starting up.

Seeing as I am running XP might be a problem but one last go and believe it or not I am at the login screen, I have also changed antialiasing to x2 so I will check this out and feedback the results

Posting incase others have experienced the same type of issue with Eve.exe having a problem.

Running Win XP
Changed settings folder to settings1
Changed radeon HD 5450 to antialiasing x2 seems to have worked.

Can now login
I have to add that CCP you really need to get with your paying public and provide better customer service as my experience over the past 24 hours has been at the least terrible. I would like a dev to contact me to discuss some type of recompense for the issues encountered and also for finding a fix for this issue for you.

LOL. You got your issue figured out in 24 hours or whatever, not that bad. I know it's frustrating when things don't work but give CCP a break. This is the best MMO that I've experienced and I'm sure CCP is doing what they can to get things figured out.

Anyways, no issues with the patch on my end, not sure I like the new hud and it took me a minute to find the session change timer. I am wondering why missiles have brackets now????
