I think you're all taking this a bit too seriously.

As long as I can still mine cans and pew pew, I'll be happy.

WOW!! Your trying sooo hard... I truly believe the only person you're trying to convince that a PC is good, is your self. So go ahead and carry on good sir.. But each to his own i guess, as its all down to your budget when buying a machine in the first place..

There is always bootcamp ;)
Macs are just PCs with OSX Support, nice design (aesthetic and practical) and decent hardware. And a huge price tag, as apple is not interested in low margin markets.

Eliminating ignorance is sometimes a motivation for me, curious tho I had the incentive to ignore the rest of this forum thread, but u got one more post out of me.

Convincing myself? In my opinion a new Mac is quite possibly almost identical to a new PC depending on make, except for the Mac having that cutting edge EFI instead of a bios (comparing them performance wise, not the aesthetics). The point was people with old computers, and one having the option of not shelling out an arm and a leg for modern hardware where it matters, and the other having no option but to shell out for that modern hardware. Like you said, if you can afford a new Mac as often as needed, more power to you. Or perhaps just bootcamp u can get some better driver support. Yet with the economy as it is, I highly doubt that many people have said option to replace their aged mac, and this forum is proof.

i could do that yes
but i rather had a tower with separate modules so i could make my game pc better
to bad a mac is more for industrial use ,not realy for at home /gaming spec
it does its work fine ,where its ment to be ,graphical /photo movie montage is very nice to use

/rant on:

It's simply economics... the higher the drop rate, the higher the supply of goods flooding the market with the end result of a lower premium for your "elite" lewtz.

CCP actively work to balance their economy and monitors its activity closely, (name one other gaming company employs an economics professor ffs). If you are honestly interested in making money, read the Q4 and research other options.

Not really. Look at the nightmares projects have faced trying to get their software to run on all versions of windows. You have to write portable code to properly support windows in the first place and that same code will work on mac or linux just fine.

Your analogy is flawed, because if you were designing a product that was only sold in the USA your company would fire you. I would love to see you pitch that idea to any company. The purpose of a business is to make money, and if selling to other markets produces more profit they will do it. Eve doesn't support mac out of charity like you imply.

I haz bigger wallet so I better than you!!! Seriously? The point was made to the fact that PC's can be keep within the acceptable "modern" technology level with some low budget massaging here and there. RAM here GPU there. Small upkeep rather than going out and buying a whole new machine when for a fraction of the price and 20 min with a scredriver you can save yourself some money. And I'm not saying macs dont have longevity... My girlfriend's mac book is 7 years old and still runs... it probably couldnt play anything more intensive than internet poker though. And you cant just pop in some bitz and bobs and get it current level of tech. Whats the point of defending macs as a gaming computer cause they aint. They can run some games... yes but they arnt gaming systems accept it.

WOO hoo for pc v mac fanboys war!

And yet, the best idiots always tell you what to buy.

If you're into that, buy yourself some white furry pants, a metallic green vest shirt, and a bright orange puffer jacket and go stand on the street corner, you horendous gay.

People have the right to choose to buy what they like, eat what they like, do what they, sniff what they like, without the N a z i brigade coming in with jack-boots telling them what they can't do.

wow manage to godwin the thread much? Aside from weak troll-fu let us just pretend for a second that Macintosh computers are not uber gaming rigs. (they aren't you know).

PC's are more flexible, but have issues with being less uniform in hardware requiring driver providers and windows to be more robust in what is supported. This opens up avenues of attack due to the fact that your environment is so much more diverse.

You are lucky that EVE is supported for OS X and Linux AT ALL. The fact that you expect everyone to cater to you speaks volumes. The product gets marketed to the segments that are large. I.E. I'd rather sell my product in the USA than Tazmania.

You have the right to choose your hardware and software platform yes, but you don't have the right to force the developers to cater to you. You have one side right but you forgot about the other side's freedom to choose.

And If I feel like wearing a metallic green t-shirt with an orange puff vest a la 1992 with shag carpeting for pants then I damn well will. On the other hand I won't force you to let me in your house. Fair? I think so.

Ok, Jack, you are the master race. Feel free to inform us all of your best choices in products and lifestyle and we'll all join you in your nirvana. Just list everything you have and we'll all go out and buy it so there will be no market for competition that drives things forward.

You've also assumed that I have a mac, which was never stated or inferred, but I guess you know it all.

Let the tangent begin...

Ok another upgrade, the screen now freezes repeatedly at crucial moments, like jumps and combats, and the so called eye candy that CPP thinks makes the game more appealing to new comers, has actually taken away from the look and feel of eve.
Ihad to upgrade my computer twice sense joining eve, just to have it freeze and crash more than it use to. Your eye candy is taking away from the playability of the game. Enough is enough. Leave us the frack alone.

MMOs are not supposed to be restricted to hard core gamers, their appeal is to a wider audience hence why they should run on modest hardware. EVE is not COD.

So you think this, or any other game, should be aimed at your middle of the line GPU released 3 years ago?

Eve will run on your hardware, before and after the patch. Complaining that you can't run it on top graphical settings without an up to date system is so incredibly naive I don't know where to start.

So many haters in this thread. LaughingYARRRR!!Laughing

Let's focus on the patch. What will it fix? What will it break? What isn't in the patch notes that we will have to work around or re-learn?

Despite CCP's EULA absolving itself of any responsibility to deliver on-time or product of any measure of quality we still must hold a bright light to illuminate their performance.

Bad idea... Too complicated, too much cost.

On the matter of PCs vs MACs: Yes, Macs are beautiful for some, yes PCs have upgradability (MACPRO has too...),

BUT a gaming company looking (and going) forward is a good thing.Blizzard f***ed up the WOW client for so many years while keeping it with sub par graphics(the new DX11 option looks a bit better and is substantially faster).

Let CCP upgrade it too... I need more shiny things on my screen.

P.S. 27inches monitor, human aging... I just wish this CARBON thing pays off.
