(To the people who are complaining about higher system reqs.)

I play on an 3-4 year old AMD 3800+ Asus Aspire with an XFX Radeon ATI 4550 1gb GPU and about 6 to 8 gigs of ram running Windows 7. I'm playing the game between medium and high graphics settings (don't like the shakey cam much myselfSmile).

The machine is a hand-me-down and has been abused by a dimwitted dolt who bought it off the shelf at Best Buy and then upgraded the gpu and was having to use a house fan to cool the machine (later found out that it was cuz the stock power supply was measly 250 watts and it burned out the gpu cooling unit which I had to replace). I don't live in a major metro plex like L.A., Seattle, Denver, Houston, Boston, New York, Toranto, London, Paris, Tokyo or any other metro so I have crap for an internet pipeline that I have to "share" with my two roomies, and still the game runs just peachy.

Despite the hard life the machine has had, even the new Carbon character generator runs just fine as does the rest of the game. It runs just fine while I'm running other programs in the back ground as well like winamp, yim, web browsers, and yes even some video players (Yay for Clear Skies 3!!!! Very Happy). So in conclusion, I have to ask the question in a cliche way out of both curiousity and bewilderment. Whats in your gaming rig, that makes Eve so slow for you (And try not to say the game graphics)?

In theory it should work (it always worked before), the only case it will not work is that if they change the patch codes while conducting server-side tests, therefore changing the build version.

Even if the worst case happens, using client repair tool will fix your problem by downloading an additional 10-20Mb.

Its funny how many people cry about their 15 year old computer and the fact it wont be able to play a game taht is ever evolving. The whole reason we pay to play is for this evolution, so quit being crybabies, and upgrade your PC or get a new one. Don't whine to me about not being able to afford it cuz if u can afford internet then you can afford to upgrade. Not to mention the benefits u get from a faster PC, ie quicker system loading after jumping a gate etc (no it's not supposed to take 3 minutes to load a system). So if you are one of the people who attempt to play eve and u deal with getting podded cuz you have a slow PC, dont blame us and dont blame CCP. Its your fault for giving them 14.99 a month for evolution of the game and its graphics.

To all you Mac people whining about your graphics getting bonked in EVE by pending patches... assuming you keep Snow Leopard up to date, Apple has been working with Valve and Acti/Blizzard to improve game performance. Your ability to whine in my opinion about a huge discrepancy between Windows and Mac in game performance is either irrelevant or is close to irrelevant, the margin between the two being incredibly small. Stop *****ing and compare TF2 now, to like 5 months ago. Huge difference. It's getting better.

As for the people with hell of old macs, well that's your problem, people with hella old PCs are in the same boat. U are not special, nor should u deserve special consideration.

Wait a minute... there are actually ppl who still own a pc that can not handle shader 2.0 that was released roughly around 2002.
Let me count that in years, 2002 --> 2011 makes it 9 years... that is just wrong!

um...what?

anyhow, good to see its just extended server downtime and not something critical(on the eve side, like the hampsters are on strike or a wormhole opened up and destroyed my internets...etc). keep up the good work ccp/devs. cant be easy preparing for a new expansion.

I only spent $350 total on my rig and I can run 4-5 eve clients at a time with little degradation to performance.

Suck it up that you got brainwashed by Apple into thinking a mac was superior in any way. Sell it on ebay while there are still gullible people to buy it for top dollar, pocket 1/2 of the cash, spend the other half on a faster system to play this glorious game we have here.

Mac owners don't pay 50% more for hardware, they pay more money for style... Which clearly you don't have if your buying some $350 dollar piece of crap. And TBH, I find it highly unlikely that you could even run 2/3 clients on your machine, never mind 4/5 without a s**t ton of degradation...

Generally people who bleat about MAC being bad, are just the ones that can't afford it in the first place... So unless you have anything useful to add to the conversation, stick your head back in the sand...

I'm sorry, but u clearly have no clue whatsoever. Just because someone spent $350 on a new home built PC, doesn't mean they bought a new case, a new power supply, a new DVD/Blue Ray player, a new kayboard/mouse a new Hard Drive, a new monitor, the list can go on, and if those parts were quality to begin with, they could be the same quality as something bought today. It's a Hand Built PC, u can just upgrade parts of it for $350 and have hardware that is better then the best Mac. That's why we do it, u can continually upgrade only the parts of your PC that needs upgrade, and if u already have a kick ass case, and monitor, you have Style as well. And if its Intel, or u want to deal with a little more work, u can hackintosh it and have OS X as well. I know this because I am speaking from experience.

Sure u paid for style, but you are still an idiot.

Maybe, just maybe, you should stop living out in the wilds and start joining civilization again. I can understand, it is hard when mommy´s basement is so warm and cheap, and I understand that huts in the wild are cheaper than houses in urban areas, still blaming the government for bad infrastructure while enjoying the benefits makes you a little bit hypocritical.

And yet, the best idiots always tell you what to buy.

If you're into that, buy yourself some white furry pants, a metallic green vest shirt, and a bright orange puffer jacket and go stand on the street corner, you horendous gay.

Not much visual difference. Until the new layout, the main benefit of moving to to CarbonUI is its performance.

CCP has one of if not the most mature and intelligent user base of any MMO. So quit alienating us by treating us like little children. You can't make us happier with new shinies instead of fixes for problems that are years old.

It is good that CCP keeps wanting to improve the customer experience, but it seems they are getting out of touch with what their customers want. Eve became a success because of great gameplay. Our gameplay is pew. Market pew, rat pew, mission pew, wormhole pew, industry pew, mining pew and most of all pew pew. Make the pew better. Then make it shinier.

If you had bothered to be on the test server you would know that this post you made is full of troll.

1) The CarbonUI Framework changes how your UI is rendered making it more efficient AND prettier. It lays the groundwork for future improvements in both quality and appearance and the eventual NEW UI(which I got to try out with the experimental version a while back).
2) You will see a noticeable frame rate improvement in station and in space. They aren't out of touch...but clearly you are either ignorant of their intentions or just a nay-sayer. GBTW either way dude.

I just think i so fun how so many ppl complain about how thier pc are having a hard time running the game like it the CCP's fault. I run on a 6 year old homemade Pc and I upgraded the video card and that it. I run 2 gb of ram and still have no problem playing eve. But the point is if you pc is that old that you cant play cause your pc then just quit or buy a new pc so the rest of dont have to hear it

seriously,

K, i don't want to complain but the updates are getting a little ridiculous. If the framework for a new UI that isnt supposed to be out till incarna then it shouldn't be OUT till incarna. and i highly doubt that it takes 6 hours to impliment it. having one of the biggest support staff in the industry appearently doesn't mean you are the most efficient.

and here is another bone to pic. YOUR FACTION RAT SPAWNS SUCK!!!. what i mean by suck is that you have to go out to nullsec, find a spawn, kill it, salvage it, take it back to a safe location without getting blown up and if all this wasnt hard enough you have them drop crap like dark laser crystals. really... laser crystals. eve do you like money, do you like having a great fan base? then make it rewarding enough on a scale that the rest of the player commnunity can appreciate. its like you put something cool in the game then ensure that only the biggest alliances can get it, or you almost nullify the bonuses it gets. pretty disappointing. I love eve but i can tell you that there are a few other mmo's coming out in the next few years that will blow this game out of the water if you dont shape up and start thinking more of the player than your pocket books.

p.s. for the trolls i am very aware that eve was invented to make money. im not against that. more money means "hopefully" better game. so far the contracts system is a joke due to the fact that it is possible to make a scam contract that looks so real i couldnt distinguish it from my legit ones. might aswell rename it scams instead of contracts. im not against pirates, i engage in some "walk the plank" type fun and honest work. i think eve should always have that. having a corrupt, compromised exchange system is poor design and there is no excuse. i could go on but i wont. some like it some dont.
