God Mac users love to have a good cry don't they, They should all switch to playing Myst & sit in awe in how well it plays on their over priced yuppy doosh magnets.

Oh and to those having a sook about their outdated PC, Maybe CCP can make a version for PS3 & You can write Father XMass asking for a EVE PS3 Bundle.

CARBON update I assume useless like last skill changes and downtime for useless update, I think soon we will play some WoW clone what is not in my interest ....

Tnx, for 6 hours downtime again for one more useless update of 550MB to download, thank you god for modern fast internet connection, because if there was 56k modem I will stop to play long time ago.

Coolmer guess what I play eve on, and I have three alts that are online at the same time :)) gotta love 56k

My question: Will this be available as a manual download?

I can't spend 550Mb on this ****ty internet plan to dl a patch, but at my school library I can download as much as I want. Only problem is that it has to be manual cause they're behind a proxy.

Its sad when you have a bunch of rants coming in about not meeting the shader requirements. Shader 3.0 came out in 2004. It is currently 2011.

Just FYI.

Hmmm upgrade Ui Great. Dont know what that means.Hope it means items show up quicker in Corporate Hangers or ships come out of Ship Maintenace array with full shields. That would be nice.

Living in Oz, I was already struggling with downtime being in the middle of my gaming time. Now to go and throw 6hrs dt with practically no notice p!**es me off. I guess CCP don't consider the Pacific region users to be worth while. Why do I pay for other people to play..... They've just lost me! ugh

why are you writing so much? I sew that CCP isnít answering you. In this Patch-Discussion CCP answering only ones. Also why you are write about thinks, witch not in this patch done? Someone is crying, someone is laugh and someone is telling someone else the truth, but the only one truth I know is that form CCP. Razz
Why you are discus about things than not already happened? Canít you wait until the patch is done and discuss than about? I think it is discussing about Kathrina before it arrive at New Orleans and saying nothing after.

Please pay for CCP to relocate to your Country (Should only cost a couple of million bucks) and they will then be able to work during a less frustrating time for you.

Also, how long will the patch take to download over that tin can and string internet you have down there..Laughing

To all the people *****ing because they run a mac:

Blame yourself for paying 50% more on hardware than the rest of us do. If you built your own PC(pretty easy to do, and lots of nerds around to help you), you could have had a *****ing machine that runs eve very well on the cheap. I only spent $350 total on my rig and I can run 4-5 eve clients at a time with little degradation to performance.

Suck it up that you got brainwashed by Apple into thinking a mac was superior in any way. Sell it on ebay while there are still gullible people to buy it for top dollar, pocket 1/2 of the cash, spend the other half on a faster system to play this glorious game we have here.

To download this patch it will take me approx 2hrs,
But uh... when Incarna comes out with it's large size... I'm going to be up all night if I can't find someone with better interwebz to help me dl it. EVE doesn't require fast internet, CCP does. :))

Ever think CCP is deploying this NOW instead of with Incarna making that patch day easier on everyone? I think its a great idea to spread it out instead of making it a 2gb patch that people on dialup would cry about :D

I think you misunderstood meaning of discussion, the problem is on CCP to not listen ppl who pays, and not answering is a bit bigger problem.
That will be displayed in less paymant / more closed accounts ...

to everyone who needs a manual patch, here's the website: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php
and the patch link itself: http://content.eveonline.com/evepremiumpatch259851-264377_m.exe

you can see that the version info of the manual patch matches that of patchnotes (Build 259851 to 264377)
see patchnotes: http://www.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp?patchlogID=227

use manual patcher at your own risk, at worst case scenario, use repair tool and fix the client (still faster than waiting for the client to patch itself when server comes back online)

That frontloading idea seemed nice, though only the faster internet connections can download it without lagging too much.

Reading the same sh*t and whining of you guys out there, as every patch comes out. Blahblah here and there, nothing to take serious. Make a step forward and move on with the progress, CCP is able to build up. If they would struggle on the current base, like many guys here want to see, there will be no progression of new eve-players, maybe no future to eve.

For me, the recent GUI sucks and feels like a structural design, that works a decade before. Hope that this will get improved soon, see forward to it. Despite the fact, I like the idea of the avatar and character-design. This will be the main-point to focus of interest on new users, identifying with themselves and the game. People who argue against that, force the "no-progress". No-Progress means no-future to eve.

And yes, the technical Shader implementation was introduced a decade in past. So stop whining all the way out, declaring your old hardware nobody wants to know. Wake up and accept the progress, otherwise keep your self-loving-memorial-ideals for yourself. People at CCP are not dumb. They know what they do. Just believe in 'em and everything will be fine! Period.

Apple stuff was never made for state of the art gaming. Some stuff for the iPad/iPod is nice but basic. If you invest the money for a Mac into a PC you'll probably have not the same good looking design but you have a machine what will give you a blast when playing EVE. You anyway just stare on your screen and play with mouse and keyboard. Who cares about design?

THIS! Dammit CCP, I'm sure you can afford to licence a font that has been designed to be read on screen, like Segoe UI or Calibri (you might not even have to licence them, they come installed with Windows). I'm fed up with squinting at the horribly designed font you use. You don't even use ClearType, which also comes installed with Windows!

Sorry but the chat window is an important part of the game for me, and this has been on my nerves for a LONG time!

I am sure you must be playing on 14" CRT screen to read anything on screen. Who cares about chat window if everybody uses voicecom. If you buy 24" screen which is most likely standart size these days. You will find out that, lately added font size 13, is not enough.

Perhaps you have got hawk eyes and can see tiny text on screen.

Mac owners don't pay 50% more for hardware, they pay more money for style... Which clearly you don't have if your buying some $350 dollar piece of crap. And TBH, I find it highly unlikely that you could even run 2/3 clients on your machine, never mind 4/5 without a s**t ton of degradation...

Generally people who bleat about MAC being bad, are just the ones that can't afford it in the first place... So unless you have anything useful to add to the conversation, stick your head back in the sand...

CCP is looking forward and not behind. I am playing EVE since 2005 and I can't follow most of the nerd's problems. I don't care about some bugs because overall they don't really affect my gameplay. I make my kills, I have my losses, sometimes I petioned. The game is a business. CCP is a big company. It's not about the game only. CCP has a strong corporate identity and their representation by web-content or a fan fest is just impressive. Even the E-ON magazine is a special task. I just laugh every time at these whining, complaining smartas*-kids without a life experience. But some day - hopefully - you have been grown up and you understood that all the yelling at a corp doing a good job for our entertainment was just embarassing. If you don't like it, just drop it. With small in-game text, even if you've got hawk-eyes before, you'll be wearing glasses after playing eve for 6 months.
we need new, bigger, clear fonts before all your playerbase loses their eyesight Wink

When did this 6h patch get release to the general public ?
And why dint i see a big news item on my login screen about this after yesterdays downtime ??

And to all the People running on crap computers: Iff been there, spend a few hundreds, and now even windows acts normal again Shocked. Just buy new stuff and deal with it, or give me ur stuff and do something else all together.

Hope the next downtimes will be noted a bit more upfront, or atleast announced a lot more clearly.
