Show us an image of it. Take a screenshot of it, preferably as it starts firing lasers.

I found it now, it is indeed the reworked Sacriledge Model, but on the login screen it is using lasers instead of missiles.

Screenshots will come, in a few minutes.

It is a limited run maller variant that will be awarded (via 5x 10-run bpcs) to the winners of Alliance Tournament IX

2nd place will get a similar treat in the form of a punisher variant.

Look up the Mimir/Freki and Adrestia/Utu, which were awarded in AT 7 and 8 Respectively.

If you like it a whole lot you'll want to save your pennies they generally trade (when they rarely do) @ around 25 Billion iskies

the maller hull has been remodelled, with the sacrilege and the vangel based on the new hull.

Actually, you're both right. There will be a variant which is based off of the T2 mesh awarded to the winner of the tournament, but the Maller and its T2 variants are also getting the new model (and the only difference between the T1 and T2 models are the 2 engines on the wings). In fact, the hull at the intro screen is very likely the tournament variant, due to the T1 and T2 versions not having six turrets, and because it uses the T2 model (which the tournament model shares).

love the new models.

BTW are there finally missile launcher models in yet? I had seen what looked like missile turrets in the fanfest video.

some sound effects seem to have been changed too.

I tested new turret models with a mael, mega and cane, the mega's railguns and the canes ACs had new sound effects, the mael had the familiar boom of its arty. All 3 had completly new models, the rails and arty retracted into the mounting point when not in use, the ACs did not.

I really don't understand why CCP felt a new Maller model was necessary. TBH I think the smooth hard shell on the old one looks a lot more 'Amarr' then this new one.

Also gone are the Sacrilege's extra T2 bits! Now it's just a Maller with a Khanid paintjob, and not even a very good one at that.

I'd rather seen CCP putting their modelling effort in NEW ships instead of nilly-willy updated ones that were fine (like the Scorpion that now just looks like a ridiculous insect in a wrong shade of grey).

Even better: fix some of the many stupid turretplacement glitches!

Same

Why are they even trying to change the hull go work on something else and not screwing up ships like you did with scorpion.

Seriously? The new T2 Maller variants DO have those 'extra t2 bits', which were just a couple of weird looking engines tacked on and the new one has two engines added to the T2 variants that aren't on the T1 variant, just like the old one did.

I happen to think the old Scorpion looked terrible and the new one, being as well modeled and textured, both preserves the feel and is a fine and suitable remake.

I mean seriously? The old one looked like the typical old asymmetrical garbage the likes of the Atron or Celestis.

agreed, new is far better for both this and the scorp. you will always get people who just want to be different and object. or even some people that genuinely feel that way.

those of us with good taste can feel sorry for them sitting in their rooms with posters of a robin reliant towing a caravan thinking its the bees knees in cutting edge design Cool

yes

Though seriously, the new one is a big step forward.

Theres always have the "back in my day we walked up hill both ways to school and liked it that way" kind of people when positive change happens.

So we get a new Sacri model that in fact does not show... the toughness of th ship. Both Maller and Sacri were the ships known for being hard tankers, the model showed solid structure, the new one looks way to fragile. Imho bad job.

On the other hand - instead of fixing what's not broken... how about you send some artists to redesign the Aeon? We are all fed up with the half finished Bestower...

EDIT:
Any news on the Devoter?

I was hoping that the more commonly used and also fugly ships were going to be higher on the list than some cruisers that actually looked half decent.

Eg, the battle spud domi (hear this one alot)
****** looking raven/falcon
the wierd, and I mean the really asymmetrical ships.

I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth though as this remodel means they are making progress and I'll admit it looks good.

You have strange perception for "falling apart".
New Maller looks much like Legion. Way more modern than it's supposed to be. Also it has a weak point right there:

Dont worry, its aesthetic, and probably supposed to be a spot with reinforced bulkheads and underlying armorplates to back up.
It looks like a central point in the construction thus probably making it a rigid place that doesnt need the extra armor to protect it, saving weight.

Problem solved with a bit of imagination!
