New build will be available on the Duality public test server on Friday, May 27th. Server will be open to public at 12:30pm EVE time / 8:30 EST. This is the big one. We're still working on polishing things up but almost all features are in and working. Big ticket items are listed below.

Being tested in this build

    Pilot License Certification, the new initial tutorials. Roll a new character of any race, or start the first tutorial in a starter system with an existing one.
    Full list of starter systems with AURA as an agent for the Pilot license certification: Amarr: Emrayur, Chaven, Sehmy. Caldari: Kisogo, Amen, Todaki. Gallente: Bourynes, Duripant, Cistuvaert. Minmatar: Hulm, Ammold, Ryddinjorn.
    Performance issues and loading times on different hardware and graphics settings.


Also, as this test will be more spread out across the different system feel free to join the "CQ Testing" channel for advice, company or discussions on just how important ship spinning really is.

New features in the Captain's Quarters

    Ships of different sizes are properly displayed in the hangar and have a rotational movement applied to them.
    Corporation Recruitment interface and way recruitment ad searches work has been changed. User Interface and final options are still being finalized.
    The brand new Incarna User Interface for interacting with the Captain's Quarters is in. Placeholder menus have been removed.
    Screens in Captain's Quarters are now fully operational, including:

      News Feed provided by the Interstellar Correspondents
      Main Screen: Sovereignty changes, Incursions, Ship and PLEX ads, Epic Arcs, Career Agents, warning for empty Skill Queue, warning for outdated clone, Wanted
      Corporation Screen and Planetary Interaction Screen

    Minmatar Captain's Quarters and the Hangar Balcony have final textures, lighting and effects.
    A new feature, Agent Finder has been added courtesy of Team BFF.
    Graphics and performance settings are now working. We are interested in hearing which settings work best for you for final tweaks. If your settings changes are not fully applied relogging generally helps. Work continues on improving performance on lower end graphics cards.
    Pilot License Certification, the tutorial Epic Arc replacing the old Crash Course is now fully playable for all NPC corporations in all rookie systems. We are aware of some issues and hunting them down.
    Reminder. NeoCom and Station services are loaded first with a loading screen and accessible while the environment and character are loading. Walking around is not required to turn in a mission or dump your cargo into your station hangar.


Fixed from last public test

    Hair shows up properly again, also with cloth and hair simulation turned on.
    Undocking issues due to missing new turret assets are resolved and characters no longer get stuck undocking while seated.
    More performance issues and memory leaks addressed.


Known issues / Work in progress

Stuck with broken clothing or hair? Self-podding / clone jump + undock/redock reportedly works (thanks Karoline Merlin)
Volcano eruption in Iceland prevented a shipment of Macs for our Quality Assurance, slowing down resolution of issues on the Mac client.
Performance on the low end machines is still being worked on.
Resizing the client window while loading up the Captain's Quarters can cause problems.
Ship fitting object still only shows 2 options while seated on sofa
Activation-range on undock object on balcony is pretty small
Object for Establishment door has no bracket
Environmental sounds (footfalls, etc) are not in the build
Ambient audio inside the CQ proper is not in the build
New clothing items don't work in all cases
UI buttons/brackets do not update until you mouse-over them again
Camera can sometimes be jittery when walk

How to participate:

1. You can find the Duality installer here, or as an alternative you can use the Sisi Launcher tool.
2. Don't forget to create a shortcut to eve.exe and add " /server:duality" [note the space] in order to connect to the correct server.
3. Create a new character that is Amarr and in the Royal Amarr Institute school. (You should start in the Emrayur system)
4. Join chat channels:
-- "CQ Info"
----[Moderated and for instructions and information from CCP only]
and
-- "CQ Testing"
----[For discussion, questions, comments, etc.]

** Note that the Mac installer is available, but the Mac client is not properly supported on this build. If you have bootcamp and can boot into windows, the windows client should still work though.

File bug reports!
If you find bugs, have problems, experience crashes, etc. we definitely want to hear from you! Filing a bug report is easy and is the absolute best and quickest way to inform us of any problems so we can get them resolved as quickly as possible.

Wait, what? You didn't have Macs for QA? Ignoring the giant target that statement opened up for testing of prior releases I'm hoping this means better support for the future.

Should I even bother to download the test client yet again to NOT test on Mac?

Seems like great news, can't wait to test it out at home. I'm more convinced how much CCP is listening to us, and it's greatly appreciated =) So is there any chance the ships could be a tad-bit closer to the balcony? I love being able to see the scale between myself and what I fly, it's a lot more immersive. (kind of expected a long ramp or walkway leading up to the ship ala Mass Effect 1. Any possibility for such a thing? Thanks =)

are you going to re-mirror duality for this test?

I would ask again that the time to kill a char be heavily reduced.
If we are supposed to test all 4 races (potentially with 6 permutations each, you never know where those bugs might be hiding) being able to trash chars faster would really help.

Also have you fixed the bug where CQ doesn't load if you try out any of the new clothing or hair styles? If not can we have a nice big warning so we don't spend 10 hrs killing a char, roll a new one, find it doesn't work and then spend another 10 hrs killing it?

you say that the Minmatar textures are all finished (great) could you list the unfinished lighting/textures on the other race's so we know what's supposed to be there and what isn't.

Would it be possible to seed the market in the starter systems so if we want to try out PI (say) using the new interface we can buy the stuff (plus we can check out the look of different ships in hanger)?

For those that don't know could you put up a list of starter systems for those who want to take old chars there rather than roll new ones. (would it be possible to have move me channel avail for movement to 1 of 4 starter systems, one for each race??)

Have female char animations caught up with men's or are they still lagging?

You say the turrets issue is resolved, does this mean the new turret animations are working on the new build? or you have put the old ones back? or they are not working but don't cause the client to freeze any more?

what number of questions can I ask before it gets annoying?

Also make it optional on docking, you'll only regret it later if you don't ;-)

Given that Iceland is forecast for significantly increased volcanism in the near future, an end of the world survival bunker for CCP HQ might be a good idea.
Meantime keep a sharp eye out for rocks falling from the sky.

CCP: This will be the third time CQ has been previewed in a way that excludes Mac users. (Actually the current build can be made to work on a Mac, but only in a highly broken manner).

Will the Friday test be available in any form for the Mac, even if it has a few more bugs than the PC version?

Will we ever get to test a candidate release before the TQ release? We tend to get different bugs, and would like a chance to report them.

Will the June 21 release work for the Mac? In the past you have stated that Incarna 1.0 will not be released until its ready for both Mac and PC, is that still the plan?

If the Mac release gets delayed like every CQ test release to date, how will we be playing the game?

We need a left and right arrow button that will speed up the rotation to one direction



e.g. press left for 3 seconds it will gradually speed up auto spinning to the left. release the button and the ship will auto spin forever. press right will then slow it down until it goes the other direction and spin up again.

This should no longer be an issue. The new clothing and hair assets work, and now require you to actually own them before they show up in recustomization.

I can't guarantee that all new turrets are in, but at least if they're missing they shouldn't get you stuck in space.

Also I'm missing brightness controls for station environments. When you fly in space it really doesn't matter but I find new login and quarters a little bit dark.

Will I actually be able to log in this time? The last couple times I was unable to because my account was so new / the mirror was taken at a time before my account would have been registered as active. I can get into Singularity fine, and of course live server... But I am really chomping at the bit to try this sucker out.

Hope there is a new mirror, my cousin has been stuck in transfering since the first CQ test & I am very curious about her bone stucture...

BTW: I asume that there will be race-specific CQ when Incarna releases, yes? Will them be player specific (Amarrian capsuleers always get Amarrian CQ) or station owner specific (Caldari stations only supply Caldari CQ)?
