Edit: I wanted to add my story. : )

I actually quit playing eve almost 2 years ago now jsut becuase you weren't deploying or given dates or updates on walking in stations. I felt like I was paying for a game that wasn't even out yet.

This included the backgrounds and planets at the time. It seemed so manipulative to have a playable demo and then 3 years of waiting you know?

But I understand it takes work, I hope to work in the industy as an art director some day. So I know it's not easy, I just knew my money was going to a game that everyday I tried to play it made me want to walk around and do what I saw in that wonderful demo you had at fanfest.

So now I feel like you might really get me back and I would honored to play a game where the things I brag about to my friends aren't furture improvements the game will have, but what the game is.

so thank you.

YES

edit: actually one thing, i hope you have some sort of toggle to turn off the info in the top left corner. Since we are in station you could have the system info and everything up on one of the screens right? It's just something we won't need to deal with , especially looking forward once we can go into bars and such. No reason to have all that travel info when we walk into the stations.

just to keep that in mind. : )

Thank you so much guys for all your hard work, it's great to see the 1st step out on the field!

Booo, this change will force me to leave eve online or live out of a starbase as docking will taking me AGES to load. Even with all the graphics on low on Duality it takes nearly 5 minutes to load the quarters. Nevermind running 4 accounts like I usually do.

Could we possibly have an option to not load a walk-through environment?

Looks shiny. Any more inforamtion on what will come with the release of CQ? I was hoping to see more other changes or content. While CQ is nice it's not bringing a great deal to established players.

Also RIP Ship spinning June 21st 2011.

Please do not force us to load the station environment.

This is awesome news, i can't wait! However i'm sure many people, myself included, would like to be able to continue spinning their ships in boredom. Please don't take the old hangar away from us CCP, please let us choose between the hangar and the captain's quarters.

Loading times on Duality are not at all representative of the finished product as we've stated before. Duality has been running a very early test version and we've done very little optimization yet.

Can you spend the time doing something useful, like fixing bugs, or actually playing your game so you understand it better? Thanks in advance.

even when the CQ hasn't loaded yet the UI does not lag and can used as normal. They put a lot of work into making that happen for players like you. be grateful.

CCP let us spin our holoships! Crying or Very sad

edit: OMG That's IT!!!!

ok ccp I know this would not be easy change but... I'm curious what you think of it...

right click on holo ship at end of walkway, where you can see the ship. Enter spin mode. When you spin the holoship the ship itself i the hanger also moves to match the hologram orientation!

you could have controls for how close the ship is the walkway. but mostly the ship spinning please!

If you guys can optimize the walking in stations to be no more intensive than flying in space on lowest graphics then great. If not, I'm sorry but CCP you'll almost certainly lose me, and many others without the money for top of the line computers from eve.

You could have it load in minus 7 seconds, that won't matter. If I am FORCED to play Sims in Space when I paid to play Spaceships in Space, I will simply quit Eve as will the vast majority of players. CCP is either too stupid or drunk to see this. Evil or Very Mad

tl;dr We don't want WoW in space, stop trying to force it on us.

Right.

Good to hear the "no more of that". Finally. Just please be careful with raising expectations. One step at a time, and it will be a lot easier to capitalise on potential without forgetting the core and principles of EVE.

I guess I'm glad to hear the WoD framework is working well enough you can create one room for Eve, but since it neither improves nor adds to gameplay it's a bit of a waste of time surely?

Where is the option to turn this junk off?

Hint CCP - a LOT of folks that play Eve don't HAVE multi-mondo-massive download speeds that's gonna be required to make this MASSIVE VISUAL FLUFF OF WORTHLESSNESS tolerable to put up with.

For reference - I still want the option to turn PORTRAITS completely off due to the excessive lag THOSE have been causing since Incursion. THIS crap is looking likely to be enough to drive me completely OUT of Eve if it's forced down the throats of the many of us THAT DON'T WANT IT.

b) When you unsub, nothing of value will be gone. In fact, I'd be grateful seeing you unsubscribe.

Quite curious to see what it'll bring,... As they say back hope, diversity in food makes people eat ;-) I will probably still spend most of my time in space but am not against opening a bar to get more iskies in my pockets! ^^)

One point to stress (as some before me already did) : please don't remove to ability to spin my ships!!!

What steps are you taking to ensure that this is not going to be a problem (not for CCP's own perception in metrics, but for that of user types)? We've been seeing affirmations of this since 2006, but needless to say it is a very understandable concern that people have.

Is this is something that just goes by Valve statistics, or has CCP invested majorly in testing setups more representative to its own user type distributions? I'm asking because there was mention of planning to do that at Fanfest, but not heard a peep since. In the past that usually meant nothing came of it, but since there have been significant and positive changes I hope that is not the case.

Sofar (yes dev / test stage) there's a lot of difference in performance between desktop / laptop. Which to a point can be expected, but with same hardware elements the difference right now in performance is just too big and raises questions on the GPU programming part Crying or Very sad

A month to get it optimised? Good luck YARRRR!!

Why did you nerf the ship spinning, and not even give us an option to bloody run? That aside, looking forward to this.

Well obviously you don't have a crappy computer, because it takes closer to a minute to load the ships tab and items tab. Might just be because it's duality.

here's the thing. It needs to be like the demo Torfi showed at fanfest in the past. Where ambulation is an OPTION!

Some people do not want to see their avatar, some do. It's obviously not all that difficult to do because you've already made a working demo where it was optional.

Man how many pathetic old fashioned afraid of something new people around here. Please, if you don't understand what EvE was planned to be since the beginning, please leave now with your whining, install windows 95 if you don't like progress and evolution and give place for new players. I bet we'll be happy with new players who enjoy deeper and more enjoyable EvE that CCP continues to create and build on top with each and every expansion than listen to your whining 'please don't change the 2003 gameplay'!
