Cheney- Not sure about Sleeper, but I am pretty firmly convinced that she and Kuvakei are the first run of true capsule-era infomorphs, the Broker is obviously an older one, and I'd put odds on Maleatu Shakor.

All sudden disappearances with mysterious, inexplicably impressive triumphant returns.

Today's Dust quote:

Quote:
"I don't know what they found on the other side, but apparently it was valuable. And they didn't bring it back in a freighter convoy. They brought it back in a handbag."

Garsk Agalder

Perhaps related to the recent Amarrian visit to w-space? Dust deals with foot soldiers, but what foot-soldier related object would be concievably transported in a freighter? And what else would the "other side" be? Considering these factors, and in light of the events in this thread, and the Dust quote from Thursday:

Quote:
"I keep telling them! I saw an entire bloody golden fleet heading for that wormhole, but no one wants to listen."

Jeronus Vie, Capsuleer

I believe this is about the latest Amarrian activities. And if they did just pull out a single, small object from w-space, I'm more inclined to think that my earlier supposition of Jamyl being a sleeper is correct. How else would her fleet know what to find, and where it is? Anything that can fit in a handbag is clearly a special object of the like we haven't seen in game.

You definitely aren't my professor, and I doubt you are a CCP employee, so is there a reason you are assigning homework and speaking giving hints rather than criticism and making discussion?

Yes; Sarum may or may not be a Sleeper, but that's not the biggest revelation.

I'll assume you don't have The Empyrean Age, so I'll paint the picture for you. One of the characters is near what he believes to be a Terran station. Shortly after this revelation, he hears Jamyl Sarum's voice in his head.

In the second to last chapter of the book, Jamyl says something rather interesting; that this same individual put a voice (what she calls a "demon") in her head. Throughout the book, Jamyl also leads people to Terran technology (by using very cryptic references).

The Sleeper site known as "The Mirror" makes reference to Terran Artifacts.

For the purpose of being in W-space, I'd think this would be the most logical reason for the Amarr going there. Either the MIO sending the operatives there to collect data, or an expedition sanctioned by the Empress herself.

Now, if someone put something in Jamyl's head, how big would it have to be? Or rather, how small would it have to be? Smaller than a human head, and definitely small enough to fit in a handbag. That is of course wild speculation, but it's not completely out of the realm of probable explanations.

Think about the quote; "they didn't bring it back in a freighter convoy". Why would you send a "fleet" to bring back something small, especially if you aren't using a fleet to return it? You wouldn't. You'd send something that can move easily, undetected (for the most part) and able to get in and out with as little fuss as possible. I'm not discounting the possibility that a fleet was used at some point, but there is no suggestion that there is a direct link between the two quotes. Given recent events there is a strong possibility, and I don't rule it out, but the quotes in and of themselves could very well be related to two different events.

However, if you're going into Sleeper space, what are you going to be looking for? Capsuleers would be looking for Sleeper drones and Sleeper/Talocan sites. It's a wonderful assumption; but what if the Sleepers and Talocan were looking for something as well? Why would the Sleepers have a database (or archive) with Terran Artifacts listed in it? The answer is there, or at least a part of the answer; either their technology is based on those artifacts, they were developing new technology based on those artifacts (and in possession of said artifacts), or they were searching for those artifacts.

Regardless, it's a reason for the Amarrians (and the Empress herself in particular) to have a vested interest in wormholes even if you ignore the evidence in The Empyrean Age.

I would also like to express my apologies; I wasn't trying to talk down to you, just trying to have a bit of fun. Very Happy

P.S.: One aspect of the Mirror sites that I always found intriguing?

1.0-5.1 Microvirtual Transmission Sensor The Sleepers were masters of virtual reality. Using VR tech, you would not have to be present at a site if you were using VR to to have a telepresence.

The Sleepers wouldn't have to be where their Drones were, as infomorphs or physical beings. All they would need is an efficient way of transferring the visual data between the drones and the users. For instance, via fluid routers (for instantaneous communication across vast distances).

Long story short, the Sleepers are far more fascinating than most people give them credit for, and without trying to shoehorn Jamyl into being one of "them". Wink The Terran angle gives me a big enough headache. Twisted Evil

I wonder if this is the golden fleet that was mentioned?

its all tying back to Apocrypha, which I had thought about when I saw the image they had up for Dust514 on their own main webpage. Notice the Amarrian hangar.

Also, yesterday's quote was interesting:
Quote:
What do you people know of Sacrifice? Of loss and suffering? One day someone will show you what it is you've done.

-Entris Alekran, Seyllin Survivor

You people? Blood Raider reference, SOCT reference? One of the two... or maybe both?

It really is starting to look a lot like a certain myth.

SOCT, accidentally the whole universe? If its true, that would explain why they want to die.

CCP, you sadists, you wonderful sadists.

I agree with Ellis' analysis- not sure about the Terran specific but the context sounds right on, as does putting the onus on Sarum.

As far as Jamyl being a physical Sleeper, I'm inclined to disagree ... or at least say" not entirely". I think that the second voice in her head is Enheduanni. Conceivably, they and the sleepers could be one and the same.

The first one seems pretty straightforward. They're obviously scouts for the rest of their fleet, but it also seems like they're looking for something. It definitely seems like he was spooked by a presence of some kind, likely sleepers. The most likely conclusion for the rest is that he is falling back and proceeding to a site he just scanned down.

The second one seems to be missing a lot more information. The first part shows that something he found was verified as their target, whether it be a structure, wormhole, etc. I seriously doubt that he proceeded to engage a module or function of his ship, perhaps scanning for the presence of sleepers (engaging cloak, scans reveal incoming sleepers). A lone pilgrim obviously isn't taking on a C6 site.

The third one seems to be the Pilgrim noticing your alliance, (capsuleer presence detected, falling back). There's clearly some more missing after that bit, please keep us posted on any further developments.

CCP clearly has an intent for your wormhole, I have no doubt you guys will find something awesome.

CCP, I am disappointed. You come into our system, post some cryptic, garbled messages, then leave and never show up again. Don't bother doing things like this if you aren't going to deliver with actual content, RP or otherwise, because its just a waste of our time and your time.

So you think the tweet about the 'golden fleet' (Amarr navy) was directly related to this? Its possible I suppose, but still very, very annoying that they've never come back to play with us after being all cryptic and mysterious.

You doubt that?

One of the tweets listed earlier in this thread is a quote from a Dominations member. He was sighted in Amarr space around the same as the Amarrians got "lost" in your wormhole, and the same time as mention of the golden fleet. It all fits together too neatly to be coincidental.

some of these event actor character names, e.g. the angel cartel ones, also appeared in the quotes thing on the DUST website page.

So, this whole thing, is publicity for DUST and the upcoming DUST-related novel by Tony Gonzales, "Templar One".

given publishing lead times, I suspect it was all written beforehand, so little or no reason to interact with it at all.

Which is less than inspiring.

That does seem to be what was going on, though the rationale strikes me as half-baked.

The promotion implied DUST is "just" a continuation of EVE and Incarna. Given what the console FPS crowd thinks of MMOs, that's a risky connection to be drawing attention to right off the bat.

Meanwhile back in EVE, it's more than a bit irritating.

Some other food for thought. The pilot listed on the killmail isn't the actual pilot. The real pilot of that Helios?

Quote:
Dr. Tukoss,

First, let me say it is an honor to be contacted by such a preeminent member of New Eden's scientific community. I only wish I had better news for you.

I can confirm the engagement at 113.07.08 11.39.00. We had briefly engaged members of Aperture Harmonics after their home system spawned near ours. I became trapped in their system after they closed my wormhole home, but as I was cloaked and nullified, I was not overly worried. Deciding to explore a bit before making my way back to empire, I noticed helios covert ops ships on scan. While AHARM combed their system vainly for me, I scanned down the ships and warped into visual range. Imagine my surprise upon seeing 6 unpiloted Helioses sitting in space.

Assuming they belonged to AHARM, I proceeded to lock up and destroy them one by one, before sneaking through AHARMS camp and scanning my way back to kspace. My combat records however showed only 1 killmail. The single registered ship belonged to one Lianda Burreau.

I regret to inform you that CONCORD records indicate Trinary Data was lost in the explosion. No other cargo was recovered.

May I ask what this database held? Why were these ships flaoting, unamanned, in AHARM's home system? What is going on here, Doctor?

I have lived in deep wormhole space for over a year, and have seen many amazing things, but this is truly one of the more mysterious. If there is anything I should look out for in my travels, please let me know. I would like to do what I can to help your project.

There could have been 7, now that it comes up, I believe it was. Honestly, I assumed it had to be some kind of trap, and I have to admit my heart was pounding and I might have missed some details in my haste to blow them up and get out alive. The ships were definately named CD-70, CD-73, etc., and I think one of them was CD-Vitrauze.
