Here is a new way to discourage afk cloakers (and all trolls will pay):

The solution is actually very simple. You add a duration and capacitor usage factor to the cloaking devices, and it will limit cloaking time.

Solutions:
- Add a small capacitor usage factor, negligable unless you are cloacked for about 30 minutes
- Give them a 3 hour duration, give or take a few hours and/or minutes
- Add a quarter-hour reactivation delay for every hour it is activated (activation delay will not applie if it is activated for less than 60 minutes)

Reasons to distrust and/or hunt afk players:

- They could come back at any time
- If you can find them, you have an oppertunity to blow them up and take the loot
- They could be pretending to be afk and are waiting for the right moment to strike
- They are a Wartarget (the most important reason)

Because my way is better than the ways other people described. You can't exactly have a macro to stop your capacitor from going down.

This completely negates the ability of a covert ops ship to be covert. I regularly use a covert ops cloak for both hunting other players in a system and for moving things around. I am regularly cloaked for hours on end. This destroys covert ops cloaks completely.

A Quarter Hour is only 15 minutes. If you don't like the concept, just suggest different numbers.

How about 0? Cloaks work just fine the way they are. From the number of posts against you, I'd think you would realize that this idea is pretty bad.

Again, if I am in my bomber, and cloaked for an hour or two waiting patiently to find someone to kill, why should I be punished after decloaking to get my kill?

The best solution to afk cloaking: remove all cloaks... and all guns... and all tank modules...

That way we can mine in 1.0, and thats it. GREAT GAME!
