Winners have been announced at the bottom of the page!

Gentlemen, contact me to claim your prizes.

It's competition time chaps!

I was poking through my hangar deciding what would be up for the chopping block and I figured I would go all out.

The grand prize is a fully rigged and T2 fitted mystery faction battleship for your PvP needs, and all you need to do is sing a song for it!

Rules:

- Post with you main, noobcorps/obvious alt corps will be disregarded.

- You are allowed one submission each.

- Submissions must be in before midnight of 30/05/2011.

- No cheating! You must provide something identifiable in your audio, either the days date, your character name etc during an instrumental or afterwards to prove you didn't rip the audio off a youtube video.

- Songs may be with, or without backing track.

- You have to sing the whole thing.

- You can't sing your own songs, this is Karaoke after all.

- You will be scored by myself and my very own panel of expert judges all of who are musically inclined.

- The winner will be announced on June 5th.

- Only the first 100 entries will be counted. Sorry, even I have limits.

- You will be judged by the difficulty and awesomeness of the song, how much effort you put into it (such as if you want to upload your submission to youtube and include a video of your interpretive dance of the lyrics) and of course how well you perform it.

How to submit an entry?

There are plenty of websites and programs out there which offer voice recording or karaoke such as http://vocaroo.com/ and http://www.redkaraoke.com/search-songs but any will do fine, and all you need to do is post the link up along with the artist and title of your song.

Golden Turkey

There are many hidden "Golden Turkey" awards with useful and significant prizes such as ships, ISK, faction items, "Stuff", and even faction ships for a whole host of things from the fairly obvious the absolutely bizarre, improbable or just plain weird (The less likely and more awesome the more rewarding) and as it's one prize per person it's worth entering just about anything because with a few days to go you're actually just about guarunteed to get something.

Winners or no, all prizes will be revealed on judging day.

Also anything which merits an award will receive one anyway.

Have little to none singing talent, so it's out of question for me. But I really like the idea and will follow this thread closely, good luck with finding participants :3

Just confirming that I will be leading by example and providing an averagely sung rendition of "Safety Dance" by Friday, whether you feel as though you have singing talent or not, you might as well submit because who knows, you might qualify for a golden turkey, everyone else might be worse and it will be a lot of fun Very Happy

you missed a trick here dude.

add a condition that you must sing on SOMEONE ELSE'S teamspeak/vent. ideally as part of an interview or fleet op. all singing must be spontaneous and you must finish. extra prizes for provoking unconstrained rage among the locals.

Limiting the scope of the contest probably isn't in its best interest as it would generate even less of a response, however I am sure that such a display of balls would win some you some points ;)

Does my (in)famous recording of "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts" or "You are a pirate" (when completely hammered) count at all in EVE X-Factor?

Claiming song and lyrics for posterity:

Come gather around people
Wherever you roam
And realize the universe
Around you has grown
And believe me that soon
You’ll be singing this song
If your subscription is worth savin'…
Then you better undock
Or you’ll drift like a rock
For the times, they are a'changin'

Come wingmen and heroes
Who’re paying with blood
Be wary! Wake Up!
It’s time to slap the clone
Don’t take it for granted
The Nerf is not done
And there’s no way to tell what’ll be next…
‘Cause the balance of the now
It will get a lot worse then
For the times, they are a'changin'

Come FC’s and Leaders
Please attend to our call
Don’t just stand here in Jita
Come spam the local
For he who is kept silent
Will suffer the most
As the storm on the forums is raging’….
It’ll soon shake our stations
And rattle our hulls
…For the times, they are a'changin'

Come brothers and Sisters
Come glide through the stars
And don’t crucify
People you can’t understand
RMT’s and Botters
Are beyond our command
All their names are rapidly surfacing
Please stop ****ing around
And lend us a hand
For the times they are a'changin'

The decision is made
The patch was announced
The ship that was slow
Is soon to be fast
And the company we know
There’s none quite like them
And their sign on the wall is kind of fadin'
All the flames and the whines
Will all soon be gone
All the Blobbing and Blotting
Will burn in the Sun
All the Vets of today
Will have Noobs on the way
For the times they are a'changin'

Bump!

Tell your friends! Fabulous prizes to be won, may I add that all golden turkey prizes are significant and might be given out for reasons which show no merit of musical talent or ability.
