I would like to fly a carrier in high sec in safety.

I have a RL unlike many of the nullsec uber warriors that are 13 yr old boys with spots and no gf or job that requires that you are unable to sit for hours on end devoted to a pc screen. Needing to be on hand for my children means that I cant go to low or nullsec to delight in flying caps, yet I pay my money as much as the next person....in fact, the likelihood is that while I, a professional wage slave, actually pay for this game, the same uber 13yo probably only ever pays for the game in plex or isk, so i actually deserve it more than they do!

Anyway, +1 to the high sec carrier/caps voters....save supercaps for low/nullsec.

Gotta go now....RL calls!

Even if the poster above you is right, you're giving me a headache. =(

My success is complete...lo and behold, an uber 3yo with a headache!

Seriously though, and all apologies where due, whats the harm in allowing those carebears who want to pay the bill or two to skill and purchase a carrier the ability to fly it in high sec?

Some of us really do have a RL !

Yea, that's what we need. War dec Thanatos fleets outside Jita IV 4 farming undock, black screen killmails. No thanks.

Capitals of all varieties are just too powerful for highsec, plus, the mechanism for blocking them is fairly all or nothing. If you can light a cyno any jump capable ship in range can get to it. Plus, as people have said... 30 carriers on jita 4-4 undock would be far to dominant.

I proposed an idea a long time ago for a Industrial or Commercial cyno device, much in the same vein as the black ops cyno and jumpdrives. the way black ops works is that CCP has a separate "channel" for black ops cynos and the jumpdrive of the blockops jumpdrives and jump portals.

I have always wanted a commercial version of this for industrials, IE. Jump Freighters, Rorqual. I met some resistance to the idea, but I am willing to go one step further and say that there should also be a Industrial Jumpportal that's mountable on the Rorqual, and like the black ops, there is a eligibility list for what can and cannot use the jump portal. In this case, Industrials, Mining barges, Exhumers, Industrial Command ships, etc.

So i say we should have a commercial cyno, jumpdrive, and jumpportal, this would allow industrial ships to jump around while combat ships are kept out of highsec.

Wow... I was trolling, but I actually like this one....

+1 for this idea, you might actually want to take it to Jita Speakers Corner or something.

Sure, I'm all for allowing Caps into highsec. So long as they don't fire on ANYTHING. If they fire on ANYTHING they get concorded. Allow them to transit highsec from one lowsec to another. Hell even have a Concord titan follow them through highsec so they can doomsday the cap INSTANTLY. Very HappyughLaughing

^THIS. +1

Allowing Industrial Cynos in high sec would be awesome. Possibly let industrial ships lock on to black ops Cynos as well?

On the test server I have tested flying a Dread in a 0.7 system, trust me, Concord insta pops a dread, regardless of how its fitted, same goes for a titan. I do agree with your post though.

Because highsec station games aren't bad enough without carriers...

also, assuming you are not a troll, you generate less income for CCP than a plex buyer, given that plex prices are higher than monthly/3-month/6-month/yearly prices. Also, your caps in highsec = cool, supercaps in highsec = not cool is a case of sheer fallacy, why should only those "13 yr old boys with spots and no gf or job" be able to fly supers in null while you can't in high, don't you somehow deserve that (assuming you somehow do generate more income than they do paying with plex, you do know how plex work, right?). You seem to think your argument applies in only one case.

...

calling troll

Edit: On a more serious note, can't we just set all highsec and lowsec systems to null, and call it a day?

I would like to see a carrier for hisec, however it could not be a capital, would have to be a t2 tier 3 bs or something.

Light Carriers..... yeeees.

Ok, Ill play along. Carriers in highsec could be cool, but here is the only way I see it working. In the universe, supercaps would have a "Target Supression Unit" built into the ship. Upon entering highsec, they would not be able to target anything except pve targets, not including concord. This means nothing player owned. Which efectively only makes them able to run misions.Period. However, the carrier can still be targeted by wardecs, but would be useless in a highsec fight. This way, there would be no incentive for teh uber blob in jita, as all the carrier is in highsec is a ratting platform.

Newt Rondanse forgets the Gila, Rattlesnake and Dominix.

Saw some cool concepts for 'escort carriers' coming out of the ship design contest, wouldn't mind one of those. Hell, I'd fly the minnie one as it's the first Minmatar design I haven't detested outright.

Id like to see high security space shrink. Also itd be nice if each faction was surrounded by low and nullsec and you couldnt just freely go to any of the (supposedly) warring factions space through high security lanes.
