Can someone explain auctions to me, well the timing part of it.

I have bid on auctions that went down to '1 hour remaining'

I have bid one ones that go from '1 day remaining' to completed without going to the '1hour' stage. (I am pretty sure there was no buyout on this one)

I have bid on ones that have showed '1 day remaining' for longer than 24 hours.

Any insight would be welcome, thanks in advance for any replies!

Plunderbunny, I'm all for posting inane and usless remarks (I often do it myself), but any chance they could be left out of the Q&A forum.

Well, unfortunately, PB is right. The timing of those auctions is somewhat mysterious. You can't eBay the countdown.

this

also:
1. it's rounded down
2. when you place a bid on "less than an hour" auction it's extended for an hour or so.

If you want to know when an auction is ending, the only way to obtain reliable information is to contact the pilot who created the auction. They can tell you the end time, by checking the creation time in their contracts list. Auctions should end at approximately the same time as they were created, though obviously not on the same day.
