The problem is that the number of jam attempts went up significantly and for pockets with multiple NPC jamming ships, that weak jamming strength of 3 adds up.

Compounding the issue are:
* Long lock times on battleships can mean you only have time to get one or two volleys off before being jammed again.

* If you're webbed then FoF missiles are of little help. If you have limited drone control range, then being webbed and jammed can be problematic.

* If your ship doesn't carry enough drones or strong enough drones to break the tank on jamming elite cruisers or on battleships, being jammed can be problematic.

CCP has said they're looking into it.

A few years ago, CCP changed missiles so you needed to fit a TP to your ship or use a Nighthawk.

In time, people learned to cope with it. Tank setups were changed to better adapt to the new situation where some hardeners had to be swapped for TPs and now we need more ECCM. There aren't a lot of meds left for that sort of stuff, especially on Caldari ships, unless everyone is to fly Tengus now.

So what you are "just saying" is that the raven cannot do everything at once in missions and this isn't fair? Cry me a freaking river. There are other ways round jams, fit FoF missiles or use drones to take out the jamming ships.

I am not saying that I can't run missions in my Raven anymore, nor am I crying.

I have found an even better way around this problem: Leave Caldari Space and move to Amarr space, where all the NPCs do is tracking disrupt your missile launchers.

What I am merely saying is that CCP performed this change without putting any thought into it.

Sure, fixing something is always nice and ECM now works the way it is supposed to work but at the same time, they did not think about the balancing of it.

"Broken ECM" as we had it before was "fine" because there were sometimes more than 4 ships doing it, which could still lead to you being jammed quite often but it wasn't really frustrating (like getting damped to 10k locking range) but now there are working ECM NPCs and there are lots of them. From my own experience, Marauders and most sub BS ships are more or less perma jammed.

The few ships that have enough meds to spare to fit 2,3 or even 4 ECCMs get hit as well, because 4 ECCMs wont help you against more than 4 "working" ECM ships.

Ok I got to test it myself today. 1 battleship jamming and I got three cycles in a row. I was not happy. The mission was Vengence.

Also the help chat is still going nuts.

I just did an "Intercept the Saboteurs", decided to take my Nightmare instead of the Golem because that mission has 6 or so jamming cruisers initially.

I'm glad I got my drones out before the first jamming cycle went off because I was perma jammed and scrammed by 3 frigs. My drones slowly killed the scramming frigs but I ended up taking about 5 minutes just to kill the jamming ships because I could only get one or two volleys off before they got me again :S

It is kinda annoying.

Did some L4s with my wingman buddy and we pretty much had to decide who is tanking/being perma-jammed and who is killing the rats. I do not think he got a single volley out until there were 2 jammers left =)

If you look at the Incursion features page here Player suggested improvements and updates are supposed to happen on the 17th. So if ECM is going to get re-done it's most likely to happen then.

What if someone in an alternate ship running a Gurista mission with someone else using an ECCM Projector? Could that be viable? It'd be a two man effort but I know some people run alts while doing missions...

Ship A is the tank/DPS dealer/primaried target of the NPCs
Ship B is the assist/additional DPS/ECCM Projector to Ship A

Could/would that work? Or is that a hollow attempt all the same as attempting to fit an ECM as though you were to run the mission solo?
