Perpetuum Online is almost the same as eve in every way, except with mechs, better combat, and no bot problems thanks to a complicated mining system.

WSAD movement, terrain and obsticles that you cant fire through. No more gate camps.

And most of all the devs of Perpetuum are working on the core game, not spacebook or a second life clone.

I wish the eve online development team would work towards similar goals, not things i'm not interested at all in like eve gate and incarna.

This thread is very much on topic, as I'm making a compairson between eve and a similar game I currently play both in hopes CCP will start developing the core of eve and game play elements again.

Oh look, another god-damned perpetuum thread. Thanks brah.

Also, I beg to differ. There were lots of bots.

Yes? Have you any arugment as to why perpetuum is not better in the ways I listed?

Perpetuum has better combat thanks to obsticles you cant shoot through and terrain. Also less focused on camps like eve, or roams where you find nobody to kill in your massive blob then shoot pos mods.

Lol, what does a list of names have to do with anything? How am I to know a screenshot of a list of names are bots?

No with the complicated mining system, and without autopilot there are no bots in perpetuum. You need to somehow get to a station to drop your stuff off and you cant bot wsad movement or approach things with obsticles in your path.

No, there are no perpetuum bots.

You really missed the joke on that one. Saying there are no Bots in a game about Mechs...

Bots = Robots (in this case) = Mechs. Mechs = Bots.

Protip, my image was a list of the Robot names in perpetuum. Last I checked, they hadn't changed them.

wait, wait, wait, what did you say there?

Give it time. You clearly don't realize that if someone can code movement controls, blocking terrain, collision detection, that the botters will, quite easily, be able to simply code a new botting program. Where there's a will, there's a way, and there is always a will out there to be afk and greedy at the same time.

Sure, right now there are no bots, and if someone was to make a bot it would be 1000x more difficult than in eve.

The problem with eve is that any kid can make a bot or macro for it because of how little player interaction is involved in travelling.

EVE has some things to work out to counter botting, but have done nothing at all to make it harder for botters. CCP is only interested in adding things to eve that have nothing to do with the core game, only extra fluff like eve gate, PI, and incarna.

The perpetuum devs already have a game with most of EVE's fundemental flaws fixed, and are currently developing their core game.

CCP - developing fluff like PI, Incara, Eve Gate

Perpetuum Devs - developing their core game (which is already more fun than eve)

Another reason I forgot that makes Perpetuum way better than eve pvp is NO PERFECT INTEL via local chat.

There are no bots in perpetuum that will ever be in half the map that are forced pvp zones because they cant instantly know when someone is near them and cloak or warp to a pos, instead they die.

Bots will never exist in half of the perpetuum map, as they will get ganked immideately.

Perpetuum pvp is much better.

Can I get one reason why eve's gate camps, local intel, no obsticles or terrain is better somehow? Probably not because it isn't.

It is also way easier to find meaningful pvp in perpetuum.

I'd hardly consider PI and Incarna fluff. PI could probably stand some more integration into other parts of the game, but it is essentially what it was presented as, a new mini-profession that ties into other aspects of the game.

Incarna, I've sort of been waiting for that for years, so sure go ahead and "lolrp" at me. But even that sets a framework for other isk sinks, which is good, even if those sinks end up being Interior Decorator Online or betting on footraces in Jita 4-4. (Hmm, stationside Olympics in Incarna....make it happen!)

Eve Gate, I do like one feature of that. The ability to send/receive Eve-mails while out of game is useful, especially on those horrible days when your video card finally fizzles out and you are left waiting for a week for a new one to arrive.

I actually found out about Perpetuum from another post on the eve forums, and thought I would try to help others out since its a new game and isn't as known as eve yet.

I made this thread in hopes of helping someone find a better game than eve, like someone did for me.

Ok so .... Perpetuum has more instant gratification combat.. But does dying mean as much? Is territory actually worth something and not changing hands every other day? Is there an actual developed market that people can spend their entire career amassing a fortune????

There are lots of things in Eve that perpetuum doesn't appear to have, other than the more twitch-based combat.

perpetuum is dead
WAs in the game at start but then the insurance fraud happened and the perpetuum team half fixed the problem and let the main corporation exploiter stay with half the gain of the exploit.
Then now you have a corporation of 100+ guy who rule the game (they dont even need to be in an alliance) they are at war with all other alliance more or less that count like 1200+ ppl but if theses ppl love to be farmed by cheater it's theyre problem

Would you continue to play Eve-online if you learn that alliance XXX (a pvp alliance...) used a game exploit to get 500 titans for free and CCP punish them by removing 250 titans ?...

Dying means much more than in eve, because in eve people either bot or buy isk with real money through GTC and plex.

When you kill someone in Perpetuum it means they actually have to play the game to get a new robot.

You kill someone in eve and they run their bot or they spend rl money and replace it like nothing.

The only reason Perpetuum doesn't have bots YET is because it's rather small, and there's little incentive to bother with it. Let it become slightly bigger and it's all but guaranteed to start accumulating bots and RMTers galore.
Twisted Evil
Kind of like how people believed there are no MAC viruses... until somebody finally made a Mac antivirus, and every Mac user that installed it was shocked to discover they're actually nostril-deep in virus doodoo.

Also, hmm, superior combat and blah blah blah ? Is that why missile users were considered overpowered ? You know, since they didn't have to fight the horrible LAG that rendered most direct-fire weapons at best woefully inadequate in comparison ?

2 things.

1.There are bots, wow doesn't have auto pilot and it has bots.

Just look on the sites I won't list, you'll find a mining bot for the game.

2.
Onceyou level up more and go out into the parts of the game where more pvp happens, you'll find lots of "gate camps"

Rather small is a massive understatement. Even in primetime hours over there, I haven't seen more than maybe 250 people on at once.

To the OP, the trial account restrictions are far too harsh(Trials can't join corps or even use the player market Rolling Eyes), it is laggy and the community is far too small to make it even matter.

P.S. You tried too hard<3
