so i just priced out the machine in the OP...it comes in WELL under 3 grand...i'm sorry CCP, I know a free PC is a free PC, but this machine isnt even CLOSE to the estimated price you're posting.

Total price of all listed items is ~1800 through newegg and tiger direct.

That last line is your problem...this isn't a build-it-yourself PC, it's from a boutique game machine maker. Not sure how you think your little experiment proves anything...it's apples and pineapples.

um im sorry, whats the difference? The price of the parts is what the value should be based on, not what the "boutique" name is worth...

Better tell that to crApple, with their overpriced, locked down Ihaveno*****Phone that costs $179 to build and the iTampax which costs $229.

You buy your own parts via Newegg/Tiger Direct, you're probably getting at least half of those as OEM or equivalent. Also, labor. When you factor in the time it takes to put it together, install OS and drivers, configure everything and make sure it works right...

The only real issue I see in this build is that the PSU looks a little wimpy for a Core i7, dual 560's, probably some case fans, and the drives. Remember that a 1k watt PSU isn't necessarily drawing 1k W all the time, just that it can provide that much (or near it) if need be. Better to go over than to fit exactly to margins.

Maybe the airbrush is worth $1200 ? YARRRR!!

Well, take the components, that are inside [insert random iMac/MacBook] and you will save $1000 also...

the PSU is enough. I'm loving the guys that "need 1000W for their extrem hardcore gaming machine" - take a named one, and you are good with
500W.

If you don't get it, nothing I say will change that. There's a huge difference between building your own car and buying a Porche. Opportunity cost...look it up. That and the fact that some manufacturers just do a stellar job worth paying a premium for.

Entered as well, since my current machine is broken, so I have to play EVE on very low and in window mode so it doesn`t just overheat my machine in 10-20sec...my hopes are set high, do your magic CCP. And tnx for the contest.

@ all those *****ing about the configuration not being worth 3k and/or your machine which cost less can out-perform this one, just don`t enter the contest, gives us who are satisfied with something like this better chances of winning.

This giveaway is open to anyone in the world. It is shipped from the US though and while shipping will be handled you may have to pay things such as import tax, additional handling fees and any other form of taxes or fees that apply where you live.

therefore that's me <entered> in jolly old Blighty Very Happy

If they declare it as being worth 3k$ then you'll pay 20% of that as your inport duty.
Best make sure the power supply can cope with UK voltage too, US power supplys are SOMETIMES specc'd for 110/120v ONLY, but for about 60/70 quid you can fix that.

Agreed, and it sounds like my alt-box is in yer living room, mmmm windowed on low... If I wasn't so cheap I may upgrade. However 600 worth of import tax is cheaper than 3K for the PC...

Like almost all other power supply's these days this one supports multiple voltage ranges.
From the spec sheet: Universal AC Input [Full Range]

You'll actually be hard pressed to find a power supply not supporting both 110/120 and 220/240 volt. The cheaper ones might have a manual switch while the rest are automatic.

CCP, please clear this up...There was a contest for Liking the EVE and Nvidia Facebook pages. Is this now void?

Are we looking at two separate contests or the same one with two entry methods? If so, is using both these methods a violation of the one entry per person rule?

Facebook terms don't allow "liking" a page to enter into a contest, hence the reason why they have set up a "new" contest. Based on that I think it's safe to assume that the first iteration of the contest (the one that broke the facebook rules) is no longer valid and if you wish to participate this is now the way to do it.

It would have been nice to see CCP actually address that and apologize to all of those who entered the first time. Instead, we get a new contest announced and total silence about the first one. CCP really, really needs to up their ability to communicate to their customers. Does CCP have an official Communications Specialist in employ? If not, they should really think about getting one.

so all we do is sign up, and that 5 question survey? and thats it?

I would also like an answer to this because if you go to the next offer on the EVGA it flashes a red notification that you have successfully enterd the contest and that a verification e-mail was being sent out.
