....by releasing 2x400 pages of howto's, FAQs, introductions, and guides, weighing in at some 3 kg? That statement by itself says something about EVE's learning cliff |

Edited by: J Kunjeh on 14/04/2011 16:11:25 I downloaded the guide a while ago and loved it. Particularly all of the tables included. I loved it so much that I checked with my local copy shop about printing it out in a book-ish form...but holy cripes that was expensive! Lucky for me, the print edition was rumored to be coming out so I waited and eventually pre-ordered it.
The one big criticism I have is the English...it's horrible not as good as it should be throughout. I know the creators aren't native English speakers, but maybe Eon could lend them a good editor for V2? It really needs one.
That said, I'll be pre-ordering the next version when it's announced as well. Can't wait to get my print edition of V1...it looks to be a beautiful book to have on hand for reference. |

The cliff you speak of is why some people even play the game. |

I finally broke down and bought something from the Eve store. I picked up the board game too - I have some friends coming over for a week or two this Summer and it'll be fun to give it a try. I'll be bringing this gigantic book to work with me, where there's a lot of techie geeks that love complex stuff. Leaving the book out for people to thumb through could win some converts.
But, I was a bit dismayed that each item needed a separate shipping charge. It would be great if this wasn't necessary. : > |

Will volume #2 (the pvp guide) also be available in pdf? I read all my books on my iPad these days, my library of physical books is already very large and space is at a premium, having a digital copy is a must these days. When I buy gaming pdfs (DTRPG.com) they generally embed a digital watermark in the pdf to combat piracy, so that shouldn't be a problem. |

While others play the game because of what lies beyond that said cliff, and want others to climb that cliff so they can shoot them at the face. |

I wonder if there'll be anything at all about combat in w-space? System effects, polarity and mass/collapsing to trap or split gangs, hole spawn ranges & no deaggressing to jump, no local & the power of cloaking, practical immunity if near a highsec hole (unless bad sec/standing), who can bring cap ships or even BS and where, etc. |

Could it please stop saying that a small POS eats fuel once every four hours? And that the abundance of moon mineralsmeans anything? And a couple of misleading things about probing? And that you can take sovereignty in a station system without capturing the outpost? And that supercarriers are used for repping? Etc. Etc. Etc.
Sorry for sounding negative, but I wanted to post something more constructive than "it's still full of errors". |

We don't have often news linked with the EON magasine, so i jump on this one to ask:
When can we expect the electronic version of the EON magasine?
It was initially planed for January, but i believe you guys are still defining a price strategy...
Any news about it? |

I think the fact that it will have taken some 700-800 pages to explain EVE means it will remain a cliff. Think of these books as climbing gear. |

Even if you already know all of the info, it's good to have as a handy way to reference the many good charts contained within as you play the game. At least, that's my main reason for buying the hard copy since I already have the PDF and have read it. |
