I have managed to be forum ***** #2721 on these forums. Although Chribba only runs the algorithm that determines forum ***** rank every once and awhile.
I've taken a look at the new forums some time ago. They sucked, They didn't have enough 'room' for posting I noticed. |

Some statistics; according to EVE-Search you typed 30,030,948 characters which is about 6,006,189 words (assuming 5 characters per word). Let's say you type with an average speed of 40 words per minute. That means that you have spent 150,154 minutes typing, which translates to 2,502 hours typing. So all in all you have spent 104 days (24 hours a day) doing nothing else but typing. Whoa!  PS: It's 2AM so I might made a mistake. |

A bit of happy (because the right thing happened) with a bit of sad (because Navigator is not a bad guy, but he ended up in a bad place due to an unknown proportion combination of personal belief and company policy). I have to admit, I didn't really think they'd roll back to these old forums, and the fact that they did is BOTH a sign that there's still some hope on one hand, and a sign that something really ugly happened Iceland-side on the other hand. I shudder to think what exactly happened to make them break down and reopen this old version. And I also wonder how long they'll stay open. Again, on one hand, I hope they stay open for a longer time (because the new forum was atrocious in MANY, MANY WAYS), yet on the other hand, I hope they manage to not just patch them up but also fix most of the complaints presented (if they only fix the security concerns, nothing was gained). |

Probably the fact the default template pages for the forum software were still found to be enabled (The default signup pages, terms of service, password reset functions) although to no function. Also, the fact that they've made it seem as if they've put blood sweat and tears into the creating the new forums, only to have it discovered that it's a copy paste job with a reskin and then shoehorned into Evegate. ( Hello), that much is painfully obvious to ANYONE who looked at the HTML/CSS. |
